Well yesterday I drained, cleaned, and refilled the spa. I don't really like doing stuff outside that involves getting my hands wet. We didn't get any freezing rain or sleet last night, just rain. Well I don't really have anything else to add right now, but I will probuly post some more a little later. See ya'll, Happy New Year!

Well yesterday was fun. We watched the rose perade. 2007 is the 30th annversery of Star Wars so they had some Star Wars stuff in the perade. they had a marching band wearing Imperial Stormtrooper Officer costums along with two floats, very cool. They also had a group that they call the 501st Legion made up of people who made their own stormtrooper costums, it was very cool. They also had some people who were dressed up as Darth Vader, Imperial gaurds, a couple jedis, and some others. George Lucus was also in the perade. I got our radio with the cd changer working, and I'm not sure what I did to get it to work. Well got to go, see ya'll.

Yesterday we watched the funrule servise for President Ford, so that took up most of the morning, but that's ok. Our dad picked up another bike yesterday, so I spent some time working on that. Our dad and I did some work on the one dance pad yesterday. I'm having fun working on the dance pads, I'm guessing because I'm doing something to help our youth group. Well got to go, see ya'll.

Well yeasterday we cleaned up arounbd the house a little bit. We also went to youth group last night. it was so pretty on the way home last night because there was a full moon. It was so bright that when we got home I was able to ride my bike a little bit, without headlights or anything. I was hoping that the changes that I made to my camera would let me take pictures with just moon light, but it didn't work. I love being outside when it is a full moon. Well got to go, see ya'll.

I like being outside at night. I always enjoyed checking on our animals at night, and then laying down in the snow, looking at the sky, until I got cold. So much fun.

Well it looks like we aren't going to be doing anything outside today because it is going to rain. The weather right now is amazing, it is the begining of January and it is so warm, on Saterday the are calling for it to get up to 63F. We have youth group tonight, so I'm looking foword to that. A while back our dad picked up a inexspeneve violin, so I'm thinking about learning to play the violin. We need to finish fixing the one dance pad so we take it back to youth group. Well got to go, see ya'll.

very different...you remember playing race games and moving your controller in hopes that it would make you corner faster?...well, with Nintendo's Wii it actually does....you steer in games by titling your controller, and swing it for sports games, etc....it's very neat....but would get irritating i think too....

i just rembered, i saw a commercial for that games system on tv. it looks cool. we have gameboy (the black and white one) and the first one that came out with color. we also had a Nitendo 64 (NES) system, but it broke a while ago.

It was so warm thwe other day. We were outside most of the day, we had 63F! We also went for a ride on our bikes. But i am hoping that it snows soon. We went to church yesterday and then we stopped at our grandfathers house for a little while. It rained pretty good last night and it is raining right now. we went to youth group on friday, i played with a bass guitar for maybe 15 minutes which was cool, i don't play bass but i think i might give it a try sometime. Well yesterday was a kind of weird day. I was up at 6:00am and our dad got home around 7:30am (he had to work sunday night). Our dad had a busy night so when he got hame he went to sleep for a while so we couldn't make a lot of noise. He got up around 2:30pm in the afternoon. Around that time I started feeling kind of dizzy (our mom was sick just a few days ago and she had been dizzy too), but by the time I went to bed I was feeling better. I went to bed about a hour early. We usally get to bed around midnight, but the thing is that I get up early (between 6:00 and 7:00) so I want to start getting to bed earlier. Well got to go, see ya'll.

Wow! I'm about to hit 1,000 posts! That's cool. We went to youth group last night. We uslaly talk (in groups) about some questions that Pastor Scott gives us, then we play a game. After that we sing three or four worship songs and then Scott gives a message (athough sometime we just watch a video). I felt fine while we were playing the game but then when we started to sing I started to not feel good, so I sat back down. But by the end of the video I was feeling better. Today we are going to make cupcakes to take to youth group for our sister's birthday. They usaully have between 50 and 70 kids at youth group on Friday, so we are going to make a lot of cupcakes:) . Well got to go, see ya'll.

Today is our sister's birthday, she will be 13 this afternoon. We took the cupcakes to youth group last night and everyone liked them. The youth group band sang happy birthday too. It looks like the next couple of days it is going to rain. It seams like whenever there is a chance of precipitation it is too warm for it to snow, and whenever it is cold enough for snow there is no precipitation. I'm starting to play around with my Xmods again, I sort of lost interest in the Xmods for a little while. The thing is we don't have a whole lot of room to race them at home. We were taking them to youth group for a little while because there is a lot of room there and the kids at YF have fun with them. They are kind of hard to drive at first so the cars would sometimes get banged up a little, but that's ok. Well got to go, later!

01-14-2007, 06:18 AM
Well I need to make this quick because we have to get ready for church. I don't do a whole lot yesterday. We watched some stuff on the National Geographic Channel for a little bit, they have some cool stuff on that channel. When our dad got home yesterday evening we had cake and our sister opened her peresnts. There is a comet in the sky that I have been wanting to see but the only times that you could see it was right before the sun would rise in the morning and right after the sun set in the evening. But now the comet has become so bright that you can see it during the day! It is the brightest comet in I think 40 years. http://www.spaceweather.com/. Well the rest of the family should be getting up soon so I have to go, but I will try to get back on a little bit later. bye!

I'm going outside shortly to see if I can make snow with the garden hose and shop vac, it should be cold enough now:) It was windy last night and the tarp covering the van blow off. hoowoo! it snowed last night! we didn't get muck, maybe half of a inch. it looks really pretty outside. i don't think there is enough snow to do burnouts and donuts though, but hey at lest it snowed! we watched the new American Chopper on TLC last night. we are going to be building a new shop ( i forget where). at this new shop they will have tours showing how they make the bikes which sounds really cool, i want to go on one of those tours sometime. well got to go, i want to take some pictures byfore any of the snow melts, see ya'll.

it snow snowed a little bit more last night, so now it looks like we have half a inch to one inch of snow. we went to youth group last night. it is windy today and that makes it feel even colder outside. i still haven't been able to make snow with the shopvac and garden hose, but i am still working on it. i now have a myspace page. up till now i wasn't going to start a myspace page because some people post bad stuff on there, but the morning show on the WordFM has a myspace page and they were having a contest. my mom wanted me to close the myspace page after the contest but our youth pastor has a myspace page along with several of the kids at youth group, so i'm going to ask my mom if i can leave it up for now. it is snowing a little bit right now, it is really pretty. well i need to go and start cleaning my desk before our mom gets up, see ya'll a little later.

Well I need to make this kind of short because my sister and I have a orthadontist appiontment around noon and youth group this evening. There was a new Dirty Jobs episode on last night, it was really neat (and funny). I think I'm going to stop trying to use the shopvac and garden hose to make snow for a little while. It makes a lot of noise and all it does is cover everything withh a layer of ice. If it gets really cold again I am going to try it, but only if it is down between maybe 10F and 15F. On Thursday night they are calling for the temperature to get down to near 7F, that is cold. On Friday the high is only going to be 16F. Well got to go, see ya'll.

well the orthodtist appiontmint yesterday went well. last night we got a little less then a inch of snow and this time some of it is sticking to the evergreen trees, it is really pretty. i am thinking about maybe getting a new camera sometime soon. i want to get a digital SLR camera but the thing is they can cost between $500 and $3000. i want to get a digital SLR camera becuase the point and shoot cameras that we have can't take time exsposers, and all of our cameras have auto focus. well got to go, see ya'll.

we are going to church this morning so i have to make this king of quick. yesterday i moved most of the pictures from my computer on to a DVD. the other day when it was really cold i got the shopvac and garden hose out and tried making snow again. i thought for sure that it would work if it was that cold outside, but all i was able to make was a lot of ice again. i think i am going to have to try making snow a different way. i think part of the problem is that the air being blowen from the shopvac is warmed up a little bit as it is going through the shopvac. i should be using a air comperesser. i think the air comperesser would be better because when you comperesse air it heats up, and then when you let the air out of the airhose it exspands very quickly and cools down. if the air is blowing a fine mist of water into the air as it is cooling and exspanding, the air from the air compresser takes the heat from the water and transfers that heat to the surronding air. i read somewere that it takes a certen amont of energy to cool water from like 34F to 33F, but to cool water from 33F to ice takes something like 150 times as much energy, and that energy comes from the air from the air compresser cooling very quickly. well i need to go finish getting ready for church, but i will try to get back on a little later, see ya'll.

Wow, now it is 0.7F, very cold. it is also windy. I think we need to get a new battery for the Caravan, I tried charging the battery that we have but I couldn't seam to charge it. I was thinking about watching the Superbowl but I didn't know what channel the game was on so I wasn't able to watch it, I'm not really into football that much anyway. I do have a favorite team, the Steelers. I think part of the reason that I am a Steelers fan is because our pastor is a Steelers fan. It is still really cold , right now I think it is 5F. The other day I drove the Caravan up and down our driveway a couple times to make sure that it was still runnuing ok. I wanted to check because we hadn't driven it anywhere lately. I found out that you can use a boat battery in a car, but it doesn't have as much power as a car battery. We got another half inch of snow last night so now everything is covered with snow again, it looks really pretty. We asked our neighbors and they aren't missing a cat so we are thinking that someone must have dropped it off at the end of our driveway. I don't know how anyone could do something like that to a cat. It looks like we are going to be keeping the cat. Well got to go, see ya'll.

Yesterday was a interesting day. Our oil furnace stopped working but our dad and I were able to fix it temperaly so that we had heat during the night. We are going to go get a new motor for the furnace today to finish fixing it. We have a gas powered camping stove that we got out and tryed yesterday. It took a long time just to boil a pot of water but that might be because it was 25F outside. I bought some more parts for my R/C truck on Ebay yesterday. I pretty good at racing electeric R/C cars and trucks but the one that I am building is powered by a gas engine, so I won't be able to use it inside the house, besides it will be too fast anyway. I am excited right now because there is snow storm that is heading our way. No body seams to know how much snow there is going to be, but I am guessing between 6 and 10 inches. Today we are going to see if our snowblower will start (we haven't used it yet this winter). I think I should be able to get it running, I'm pretty good at working on small engines. We have a snowblower because we have a kind of long driveway (about 140') and it can take a little while to shovel it by hand. We also have to make sure that there isn't anything laying around outside that we would hit with the snowblower. Another thing that we have to do is fix our snow shovels because the front edge of the shovels are banged up from hitting rocks and stuff. The other day my dad and I went for a short drive around the dovelipment with me driving, and this time something interesting happened. I was driving downhill going about 30mph and suddenly someone in a car passed me with a car coming the other way (the other car was pretty far off so it wasn't like he was going to hit the guy who was passing me or anything). The road is a no passing zone but I was going slow and the other guy was in a hurry. I don't like driving any faster than 25 or 30mph yet. The van also stalled at the top of a hill, twice. Well got to go, see ya'll.

wow....that's lots of snow.....we only have gotten about 12" total this winter....do they keep good care of the roads in you area...they are terrible here....no plows or sand, so it is pure ice....one of my co-workers actually *tapped* a cop on the way in this morning and they gave him a ticket!...he is going to fight it, and i don't blame him.....he should say, "I'll pay it, if the money goes towards road maintenance".....there was no was he could've stopped, and there was literally ZERO(that's NO, NONE, ZIP, ZILCH, NADDA) damage.....and they still gave him a ticket(not to mention the 24h suspension for "other" things....but he was being honest, and trying to keep the cops from getting hard on him-which they woulda been if they found out on their own-, not to mention the fact he was NOT DUI);i'll probably tell the story in my blog if i remember....crappy way to start the day....glad it wasn't me.....

now they are saying that we should get between 15 and 20 inches by the time thhe whole thiing is over. so far we have only got 2 or three inches and right now it is sleeting. sorry to hear about your co-worker, thaat's not fair. where we live they do a pretty good job with the roads.

well it snowed yesterday evening so we went out and played in the snow a little before bed. i woke up this morning hoping to see maybe a foot of snow, but we only goy 3 or 4 inches and right now it is sleeting.i guess they are calling for some sleet this morning but then i think it is supost to switch to snow. my bedroom has a skylight window and right now it is mostly covered with snow. well got to go, see ya'll a little later.

well we ended up getting about 3 or 4 inches of snow, then about 1 inch of of sleet, then another couple inches of snow on top of that. at first you could walk on top of the snow without sinking. we were out again yesterday and now it is hard to brake through the sleet layer. we couldn't get our snowblower to run so my brother and I shoveled out our driveway. we were about half way done but our dad had to go somewhere so he tried to drive through the unshoveled part of the driveway, but had trouble getting through. my brother and I had a lot of fun yesterday because we found that you can ride a bike around on top of the snow without sinking because of the layer of sleet. we are able to ride around in areas where we could not before because the snow covered all the rocks. we area were we live has a lot of rocks. riding the bike around of the snow is so much fun, i wish we had a snowmolbiol or something like that. the wheels that i bought for my truck came yesterday and the tires came the day before that. we have new neighbors in the house across the street. well got to go, see ya'll.

I aam so excited because today is the first NASCAR race of the season, the Daytona 500! I am a huge NASCAR fan, even though my family has never been to a NASCAR race. last night we got a light dusting of new snow. yesterday we did some cleaning around the house and played outside for a little bit. we were eating lunch yesterday when we heard our mom ( who was outside) start yelling at something, so i went outside and there were three dogs in our yard but they ran off. I don't like that some people let their dogs run around like that. I don't know if they would try to hurt anyone but I have seen the three dogs before and the last time I saw them they were chasing deer through the woods. if they come around again I think I might try hitting them with one of our airsoft guns because it would not be enough to hurt them, just sting a little. some people are staying at our one naebghor's house (they rent the house to people for weekends and stuff) but they got their truck stuck in a snow bank at the end of the driveway and it took them a little while before they got it out. I am thinking about trying to find out who owns the land next to use and ask if it would be ok with them if we ride our bikes on their properity. all of a sudden with all of the riding around in the snow our properity seems really small. we are trying to do some cleaning around the house but i have trouble staying focused sometimes because i have A.D.D. well got to go, see ya'll.

i had no idea the Daytona 500 was on today...maybe i'll see if it's on one of the channels i have(i've only got rabbit ears on my TV)....i always used to watch it growing up, but now that i don't have cable, i'm outta the loop....that would be cool....my parents used to go to Louden(sp?), NH(aka the Magic Mile) to watch Nascar there, and one year they got tickets to the Craftsman truck races, and the Bucsh(sp?) stock car racing.....our whole family went, plus 2 of our grandparents.....that was a lot of fun...

i did some work on the snowblower yesterday and found that part of the fuel line was cracked. i know that there had to be a crack or leak somewhere because every time i pushed the primer button i would see some air bubbles in the line. i like working on small engines and stuff like that, but not when it is cold outside. i got it to run for about one second using engine starter fluid. my brother and I made a small hill out of snow in the middle of our yard for riding our bikes over. the high for today looks like it iwill be around 40F and there is a chance of rain. the nice thing about it getting up to 40F is that some of the snow will melt and become packy, right now some of the snow that we have is powdery and the bike tires tend to sink in powdery snow. it is nice that someone moved into the house across the street. we haven't met them yet and i don't think they have any kids but it is nice to have someone living on this part of the street again. the other day i backed the Caravan half way down the driveway so that we could shovel the snow away from the garage. before i put the van back i tried carefully driving through a small snow bank and found that minivans don't plow through snow banks very well:lol: . i recorded a bunch of deer yesterday with my video camera, i wanted to see how well it would work outside in the cold. we have a contaner that we put horse feed in for the deer that come around everyday. we used to have two deer that we raised from fawns so that is why we like deer so much. well got to go, see ya'll.

we got three or four inches of new snow Sunday night. yesterday my dad and i went and had the Caravan inspected, the funny thing is we had only put maybe 50 miles on it since we had it inspected last. we played outside in the snow for a little while, my brother and i rode our bikes around in the snow for a little bit then we had a snowball fight with our sister. we then went sledding on a hill that is just down the road from the one ambulance station that our dad works at. there were two kids and their dad already there and shortly after we got there a couple other kids and their parents showed up too, it was a lot of fun. we saw someone on a snowmolbile ride by, they are really neat machines. i want to get one sometime, i have never ridden anything other than a bicycle. well got to go see ya'll.

well we saw the eclipse, it was very cool. we missed the best part but hey at least we were able to see the last half of it. i didn't take any pictures with any of the digital cameras but i did get some pictures with my dad's Canon T70 SLR film camera, our dad is going to get the film doveluped today. i will try to post pictures of the photos as soon as our dad gets home later. the thing is that i don't have a scanner connected to my computer so i can't scan the photos, so i am going to try taking pictures of the photos with my sister's digital camera and then download them onto my computer. i almost never use film anymore because you have to pay for it, but i did this time because eclipses don't happen everyday:) . i really want a digital SLR camera for stuff like this, but i don't have the money right now. i am saving to get the rest of the parts that i need for my R/C truck and i want to get a pair of Heelys skate shoes when it starts getting warmer. i cut some wood to make some shelves yesterday which was fun, i have a cordless circuler saw but the batteries that i have were not charged so i used my dad's cordless saw (which is almost the same as mine). i am still waiting for the bushings that i bought on ebay, they were shipped on Feb 25th but they haven't come yet. today i think i am going to cut the rest of the wood and do some cleaning around the house and i'm not sure what else. well got to go, see ya'll.

we watched Startrek First Contact last night before bed, it is probuly one of my favorite Startrek movies. we also watched a new Mythbusters episode. the pull start that i ordered came yesterday but i need a part called a one way bearing for it to work. on the way home the other day we stopped at autozone to get something and while we were there two guys pulled into the parking lot with two Mustangs. the one was a very nicely restored early 90's Mustang and the other was a late 80's Mustang that looks like it is being restored. the guy with the older Mustang revved the engine a couple times, it sounded so cool! i am hopeing that we can see if we can get the muffler from the conversion van replaced today, it might still be under warinty. when it starts getting warmer i want to start working on the van again (i had stopped because it was starting to get too cold). one of ther things that i want to do is try to clean the wheels. they have a lot of oxadation so i guess i will start by wire brushing them (most of the oxodation flakes right off). the only rotary tool that i really have that i can use is my Dereml tool, which is kind of small for doing the wheels. well got to go, see ya'll.

Sunday morning we set the clocks ahead a hour, it will be nice because it will stay light a extra hour.i put a software program on my dad's one iPAQ that allows you to use the iPAQ as a remote control for a TV orDVD player and stuff. the neat thing is that the software can learn the codes from another remote control and it will even work with the lazertag stuff. well got to go, see ya'll.

well it looks like the next couple days are going to be in the 50's. on wednesday it should get up to 61F, that will be really nice. i like snow but i don't really like it when some of the snow melts and refezzes, we still have a couple inches of snow on the ground, but some of it is ice now. if there is any snow still on the ground on wednesday and if it does go up to 61F i am going to maybe go do some stuff outside while wearing shorts and a t-shirt, just for fun. i have a old oscilloscope that i guess you could say i'm restoring. it uses vacume tubes, which is cool. i took some of the vacume tubes out so that i could clean them but i never got around to it, and now i can't find a couple of the tubes. my dad has a box of vacume tubes and i sorted though it to see if there were any tubes that i could use in the oscilloscope. i didn't find any tubes that i could use but i am going to look through the box again incase i miss one. today is my brother's birthday! we were very late ordering his presents though (waited till the last minet again), but he knows that they will come kind of late and he doesn't really mind. the other day we went to pickup something in Banger PA, there are some really nice country roads in that area. part of the road that we were on runs along side railroad tracks, very pretty. sometime i want to go back to that area and spend some time taking pictures. the parts for my R/C truck are going to be shipped today, i'm not sure how long it will take for the parts to get here because they are being shipped be flat rate mail. i am hoping that we can go to the shooting range sometime this week. well got to go, see ya'll.

i have a CVA 45cal flintlock rifle that is a lot of fun to shoot. our dad has a WWII Russian Mosin-Nagant M38 rifle that i haven't fired yet. he also has a .22cal rifle, a 380cal Bersa Firestorm, a 9mm Bersa Firestorm, 40cal Beretta 92, a .22cal revolver, a 357 magnum revolver, and a 12 gauge shotgun with shortened barrel. my brother has a .22cal rifle along with severel airsoft guns.

we went to the shooting range yesterday and it was warm enough that we did not need our coats. we were shooting at 2' x 2' carboard targets. i hit the carboard i think three times with the flintlock and maybe 15 times with my brother's .22 rifle. my brother also brought along his airsoft MP5 and i was able to hit the target with the airsoft MP5 at 50 yards! well got to go, i will try to post some pictures later on, see ya'll.

wel yesterday was a exciting day. our dad and our sister and i went to the recycling center. we have a trailer hich on the one minivan and i was backing up the minivan so i could hook up the trailer to the van, the only thing is that with all of the snow melting everything is muddy. most of the time i can carefully back the van up to the trailer without to much trouble, but this time i had some trouble because of the mud. it turns out i was moving the minivan around in around three inches of mud, it was a mess. the air filter and cluch for my R/C truck came yesterday. we got a old sewing machine the other day. it was made by a company called White and it is 80 something years old. it is the kind of sewing machine that you push a pedtle back and forth with your foot, it doesn't have a motor. another cool thing about this sewing machine is that the cabnet is made out of wood and everything else is metal, no plastic at all:) . yesterday evening our dad got a call from one of the guys that he works with who said that they where smelling thing that smelled like wires burning at the one ambulanc station so he and i took a ride up to the station. when we arived there were two or three ladder trucks, a tanker truck, one or two other trucks, and half dozen privet vehicles. there wasn't a fire, it looks like it might have just been the heater in the garage acting up. the funny thing is that the guy who called it into the comm center only asked for them to send one truck up with a thermal imaging camera to cheak for any hot spots, and they sent a whole bunch of trucks:lol: yesterday we had around 65F! it was so warm and now they are saying we might get between 4 and 10 inches of snow over the next couple days! well got to go, see ya'll.

boy,the other day the temp was in the upper 60's, and now we have a winter storm warning. it looks like we might get somewere between 8 inches and a foot of snow along with some sleet. they are calling for it to be the wet heavy snow. our dad picked up another sled for us that someone was getting rid of for free. it is a old radio flyer sled with metal runners that you can steer. i am hopeing that i will be able to drive the conversion van around in the snow a little bit, since this might be the last big snowfall of the seasion. i was tuning my guitar and the high e string broke so i have to buy new strings sometime. well got to go, see ya'll.

well, it snowed, a lot:lol: . we got around a foot of snow but the snow drifts are a lot deeper. yesterday evening my brother and i went outside for a little while, we buried the front of the Caravan with snow, just for fun. later on we are going to see if we can back it out of the pile of snow. when our dad lft for work this morning he almost couldn't get out of the driveway and down the road. it looks like we are going to have to shovle the driveway by hand again because the snowblower still isn't working and i don't want to have to work on it when it is cold outside. last time it snowed and we shoveled the driveway we had piles of snow that took a while to melt. this time i think we are going to move the conversion van and the Caravan first so that they are out of the way. yesterday our dad got a call from one of the guys that he works with and he said that one of the ambulanic crews rolled one of the ambulanices while heading to the hospitle. i beleive the medic had high bloodpresser and the driver had hit his head, but it don't so like it is too seruse. they were taking a guy to the hospitle who was in a car actesdent, but he wasn't hurt any more. we also hear on the radio that a other crew got one of the other units stuck somewhere. they must have been really stuck because on the radio they said that they were going to send a towtruck but if they couldn't pull them out with the towtruck they would have to get a frontend loader to dig them out. we were lisening to the radio and it sounds like there were a lot of people slipping around and crashing. well got to go, but i might try to post some more a little later if i'm not busy, see ya'll.

i tryed starting the snowblower yesterday and heard a grinding sound, never a good sound to hear. since that meant that we had no way to start it i decited to try fixing the pull start. i was able to fix it with a thin piece of rope and a piece of wood. i tryed starting it again and it jammed, but i fixed that. it still won't start though. i guess we are going to have to have someone look at it. well got to go get ready for church, see ya'll.

we went to church yesterday and after that we went to Home Depot and Walmart. we also went sledding for a little while. two of our sleds didn't really work very well because they have metal runners and because the snow wasn't really packed down the sleds sort of sank in the snow. we did take along two other sleds and they didn't sink. there were one or two other familys there sleding also. the one family had a big innertube and their dad let my brother and sister try it, it was pretty cool. i got the oscilloscope working, or at least i think it is working, i still am missing four vacume tubes. it is pretty cool because i can hook up my guitar to the oscilloscope and the oscilloscope will show what the signal from the guitar looks like. i am excited because next week NASCAR is racing at Bristol, i like Bristol because it is a short track. last year the end of the race at Bristol was very exciting, i love short track racing. well got to go, see ya'll.

i tryed starting my rc truck yesterday and i had a lot more trouble then i thought i would. first i filled the gas tank about 1/4th of the way because if something was going to go wrong i didn't want it to have a full tank of fuel. it turns out that ether the fuel tank or the fuel line is leaking slowly. i thought i saw a break in part of the fuel line but i didn't think very much of it at the time. i played with it for a little while but i coudn't get it to run. after a little while i remembered that R/C engines need the glow plug to be hot in order to burn the fuel. so i found out that the glow plug igniters that you can buy are basicly just a battery pack that connects to the glow plug and heats up the glow plug. the glow plug works alot like a spark plug, but insted of creating a spark the glow plug has a thin coil of wire inside it and when power is applyed to the glow plug the coil heats up and glows hot enought to ignite the fuel. i only have one glow plug and that is the one that came with the engine. after i found out much energy the glow plugs need i made a glow plug igniter. it is just two AA batteries, a couple alagator clips, and a toggle switch. i tryed starting the engine again (this time with the starter that i made) and after a couple tries the engine started and then it stalled. i played around with it for a little while and changed some stuff. i was able to start it a couple different times, and the one time i was able to drive the truck for maybe 20' before it got stuck in some mud and stalled. i kept working at it but i can't get it to start again for some reason, i think it is because the glow plug is old. so i am going to have to buy some new glow plugs and maybe a glow plug igniter. the short time that i was able to drive it was a lot of fun! it has a lot more power then any of the other R/C cars or trucks that i have tryed before, it is pretty cool! i have to be carefull with the fuel because it is 20% nitro methane and it also has methol alcohol in it and i couple times i must have gotten a little bit on my hands because i felt something wet and then reight away it felt cold from the alcohol evaperaiting. well got to go, see ya'll.

well yesterday was kind of fun. it was 60F so we went outside for a little while. the front of the caravan was still half buryed in snow so i backed it part way down the driveway and shoveled the snow out of the way. i then tryed driving though a muddy area next to our driveway but minivans don't do very well in mud. i was driving into the mud and the van started to slow down even though i was giving it more gas. i didn't want to floor it because 1st the area with the mud is kind of small with trees and our boat, and i did not want to hit anything and 2nd if i floored it the van would most likely just dig into the mud. i was able to back out of the mud without to much trouble luckly. i tryed fixing a crack that i found in my R/C truck's gas tank but it still leaks fuel from somewere. i tryed starting it again yesterday but i wasn't able to start it and plus it started to rain so i had to stop.

it has a carburetor. i guess it is a cross between a gasoline engine and a diesel engine.

i copied this from the manual that i got from the website

"The TRX engine is a two-stroke, air-cooled design. It features “ABC” (Aluminum, Brass, Chrome) type construction. The chrome sleeve is tapered so that the aluminum piston feels tighter at the top of the stroke than at the bottom. The piston and sleeve are designed to reach perfect running clearance when they reach normal operating temperatures. The piston
will feel tighter when cold. Fuel enters the engine through the carburetor
where it is metered and mixed with air. The fuel/air mixture is then drawn into the crankcase. A rotating valve in the crankshaft opens and closes the crankcase. On the piston’s down stroke, the crankcase becomes pressurized, and fuel is blown into the combustion chamber through two timed intake ports cut into the sleeve. Swirling action prevents
the fresh fuel/air mixture from exiting the exhaust port. On the upstroke, the fuel is compressed and ignited. When the engine is first started, the electrically heated glow plug causes the fuel to ignite. Once the engine is running, the fuel is ignited by a combination of rapid compression (similar to a diesel) and retained heat from the glow plug. Exhaust gasses are evacuated through a third port in the sleeve. The contact surfaces of the engine are lubricated by the oil carried in the fuel mixture. The oil also helps to cool the engine. Some of the oil is burned with the fuel mixture, producing the characteristic smoke trail."

i'm not sure if i mentioned this before but the truck that i have is a Traxxas Nitro Stampede.

the race at Bristol was really cool. they are starting to race new stock cars and i guess NASCAR waited till Bristol to race them so they could see how the new cars would hold up to getting banged up and stuff. the new cars are longer, wider, and are 2'' taller on the inside. they also have spoilers and a split frontend. Kurt Bush won the race. there were 15 cautions and there were a couple wrecks. it looks like the new cars shed less parts when they crash then the other cars. next week they are racing at martinsville, which is a half-mile track.:) another one of my favorite tracks, more short track racing!) i have decited that i want to get into racing, most likely at a local track. a lot of the drivers in NASCAR got started at a early age with stuff like go-karts and midgets and stuff like that. a lot of the NASCAR drivers also grew up in families that were involved in racing. i want to get into racing but i don't have any experense racing anything and i don't think my family knows anyone who races who could help. most of the snow around here has melted, but we still have a couple piles of snow that are still melting. we now have a crack running part way down our driveway. i was using my Wather P22 airsoft gun the other day and part of the trigger broke so i fixed it yesterday. i love working with metal, i think one my favorite tools to use right now are taps and dies. as soon as i can i'm going to get everything out of the conversion van and theen i'm going to work on removing the mold. i want to get the van back to the point were we can maybe get it inspeted. well got to go, see ya'll.

i finished painting most of the boat yesterday. i had to stop a couple times because my hands were getting cold. our mom is going to give us haircuts sometime today since tomorow is Easter, i want to keep it long though. our dad says that we are going to sell the boat after we fix it up but i am hoping that we will be able to keep it for a little while. we used to have a larger power boat but we sold it because the engine stopped working and we couldn't find out why. i decided that someday i want to get a car of some kind and drive along part of route 66, i think that would be fun. next thing that we have to do with the boat is mount these metal boxes filled with foam under the middle seat and rear seat. the foam filled boxes are to keep the boat floating even if the boat fills with water. we also have to work on the oars. we need to remove the old paint and sand them and then repaint them. well got to go, see ya'll

well i finished most of the boat yesterday. i think that all we need too do now is the oars and the outboard motor. this should be fun because i don't know very much about boat motors. i will try to post pictures of the boat soon. i am so excited because we are going to church today! i love going to church, even more on Easter. well got to go get ready for church, see ya'll later

the Easter service yesterday was very good. while the choir sang the one song there was a guy who was drawing pictures with sand on a projecter, it was very cool! on the way home we saw a Ferrari Testarossa
which was cool. when we got home we took turns hiding Easter eggs outside in the yard and in a area of the woods right next to our yard. i helped our dad with a antenna for a little while. i also did some work on the van for a little while. i removed some rust spots and repainted them. the only thing is that i used brown paint, so now the van has a bunch of brown spots painted on it. sometime i am going to remove the brown paint and repaint those areas white. there are four new episodes of Star Trek Enterprise on tonight, so that's cool. well got to go, see ya'll a little later.

I'm hearing allot about wacky things people did in the Easter services. alexanderthegr8 gave me a handful of melted jellybeans for the occasion. I don't really like jellybeans, though. You want them?

not a whole lot going on right now. we did some cleaning around the house. the trees are starting to get buds, i love this time of the year. i can't wait till we open the pool. for a couple years we used to have a 15' round pool and every year when we took the cover off the water was really dirty and it took a while to clean the water. one year when we removed the cover we noticed that there was a lot of water missing so after a little while we took it down. a couple years ago we built a new pool and this one is bigger, it is 15' by 30'. one thing that i want to do this spring is maybe redo the yard. the one area of the yard was always wet because of the drainige field from the sepic system. when we did the ground work for the pool we used the dirt that we dug up to fill in the wet area in the yard. the thing is that in some areas it is still wet because we never really finished the whole thing. there are a lot of bumps and dips in the ground that i want to fix. i also want to maybe plant new grass because there are a lot of spots that don't have grass. we have a lot of other stuff that needs to be do outside. well got to go, see ya'll.

it looks like it is going to rain later today and tonight they are calling for snow and sleet, but i don't think it is going to accumulate or anything. we have some stuff that we need to put away before it rains, and i want to cover the van and the boat. i did some cleaning in my room yesterday, so that's good. i have been working on playing the guitar more lately, so that's cool. i am getting better at playing the guitar. well got to go, ya'll a little later.

well i did some work outside yesterday. i covered the boat and the van and i put the snowblower away in the shed. we have a mess in our one shed because squrrels have found a way into the shed and they made a nest on the one shelve. you have to be careful when you open the shed. so far they haven't gone after anyone, so that is good. they brought in a lot of leaves for the nest and they also knocked some stuff off of the shelves. there was a contaner of insecacide (i think) on the floor and some of it had spilled out. I found the two vacume tubes that i was looking for and i put them in the ocillascope. our dad bought a couple tape reels on Ebay and they came yesterday. we needed a take up reel but we didn't have one so we took the tape off of one of the ones that we got. it took a while to unwind the whole thing because each tape is 1800 feet long. our dad helped us put the one tape onto the player and i hooked it up to my guitar amp and the player works. it is really cool because it is really old. i tried recording with it and i was able to but there wasn't much bass but i think that might be because i was using the wrong adapter or something. i will try to post some pictures of the tape player sometime soon. i don't think we will be doing anything outside today because it is raining. it is right on the edge of raining and snowing. i am having some trouble with my computer so i posted something on the forum about it and later i'm going to ask dad to help. there was a new Mythbusters episode on last night and we watched that. i can't wait for the next NASCAR race, i think they are racing at the Texas Raceway next. it will be intesting to see how the car of towmrwo will handle because at Texas airodynamices is a big factor and the new cars don't have as much downforce as the last cars they were racing so this should be interesting. for some reason the front part of our house smells just slightly of skunk. well got to go, see ya'll.

well the day before yesterday after is was dark our mom said called me to the front of the house because she said that she heard what she thought were gunshots. i looked out our front door but i didn't see anything. yesterday my brother went to get the mail and came back and told me that me found what looked like a used firecracker in our mairbox. i went down and looked and sure enough it was a firecracker. the gunshots that our mom heard was from someone setting off firecrackers in our mailbox. there is no damage to the mailbox but still i'm not very happy that someone did that. i put a montion sencer doen at the end of our driveway so now we can tell if someone does something again. i started to replace some of the wiring on my guitar with better wiring but i had to stop so that we could eat dinner. i modafied my guitar amp yesterday too, i changed the power LED so that instedd of having a red LED it is now has a bright blue LED. it looks really cool and you can use the use the amp has a flashlight. our dad helped me fix my computer and it is working fine now. we watched a new American Chopper episode last night. it was part 1 of a 2 part series were the guys at O.C.C. are building a bike for the guitar manufacturer Peavey. so far the bike that they are building is going to have a built in battery powered guitar amp so that when they revel the bike they can have someone plug a guitar into the bike and use the bike as a guitar amp. well got to go, see ya'll a little later.

we did some cleaning around the house yesterday. we have a winter storm watch in effect for our area for tonight and towmarow. i'm not really sure how much snow we are going to get, but they are saying that some areas might get as much as a foot. we got a old Heathkit stereo amp a couple days ago and i got it working yesterday. it is a nice amp, the only thing is that the knobs aren't labeled. well got to go, see ya'll.

wow, the 700th post in my journal! i am going to have to amke this quick because we are going to church today. our sister is staying home because she is sick so it is just me, my brother and our dad. we got everything out of the caravan yesterday and took it for a short ride. i helped dad with a anntena that he is putting up. we were going to clamp it to a vent pipe on the roof of the house but the pipe isn't strong enough. our dad has a radio tower that we never put together, so we got the setcions for the tower out and layed them out so that we could see if we could use it. i think a are going to, it is i think 38' high and the one end is going to be cemented into the ground and part near the top will be fasended to the house. well so far we haven't had any snow, just rain. they are saying that we might get some snow tonight so we will see. i decided that i want to get a pair of heelys skate shoes sometime. well got to go, see ya'll.

our sister don't like music so i can only really play in the morning before she wakes up. i liesen to the WordFM over the internet and i have my guitar amp hooked up to my computer and i play along to what's on the radio. i have also been playing along with clips of 1950's rock. it is a little hard playing the guitar right now because my high E string broke. here are two clips that i recorded about a week ago.

it is a mess outside right now. we got about 1/4th of a inch of wet snow last night. we also got a lot of rain, it started Saterday night and it wasn't raining hard, but by morning it was raining pretty good. in all i think we got three to four maybe five inches of rain. it is really windy right now but i don't have anything that i can use to find out how fast it is. we watched a really good movie yesterday evening called National Treasure. well got to go, see ya'll.

well i had i kind of scarry thing happen yesterday. i was cleaning in my room and i had my stereo playing and i also had the oscilloscope turned on. i had the oscilloscope hooked up to the stereo amp and the sound from the amp was being displayed on the oscilloscope which was cool. i had it on for a little while and then i turned it off before going downstairs for dinner. after dinner i went back up to work on my room some more. i turned the oscilloscope and the amp on and everything but when i heard a hissing/sizzeling sound coming from the oscilloscope. i quickly turned the oscilloscope and found that one of the capasitors was smoking and leaking at the bottom. nothing else happened after that luckly. it will be hard to find a part to fix the oscilloscope because of how old it is. the movie that i bought on Ebay came yesterday so that is cool. it looks like the next couple of days we are going to be doing a lot of work around the house because we are doing some refinancing stuff with the house and credit cards and stuff and we are going to have to have soneone come out and look at the house to find out how much it is worth. well got to go, see ya'll.

well not much happened yesterday. i took a old computer hard drive apart because i was trying to make something that would hover using magnets. i never took a hard drive apart before, it was pretty neat. it looks like it is going to get up to 78F today, that is warm. we don't have our air condsioner turned on yet because we have to clean it first. they are racing today but i don't remember where so i am going to look that up when i am done typing this. my brother and i did some shooting with the BB rifles for a little while. we shot at a couple old floppy disks and a old dialup modum. yesterday i was going to do some work in my room but it was a little too warm. my bedroom is on the secondt floor and it has a skylight. during the afternoon the sun shines right into my room which makes it really warm up there. well got to go, but i might post some more later on this afternon.
