Hey! Tell us which is your favorite Nichole Nordeman CD and why.

I'll start...My favorite is "Wide Eyed" because I love almost every single song on there and it has special meaning to me. Nichole sent it to me herself after we began emailing back and forth and cultivating a friendship. I was going through a rough time and she told me to pay special attention to "River God" because she thought of me during that song and thought I could relate...She was right and it's my favorite song now :)

"This Mystery" is a great CD as well but the songs don't have the same meaning to me. "Every Season" and "Why" are my favorite gems from that one. They're both amazing!

So, let's get this forum going! :D

I'm kinda new and this place is dead so I guess I'll throw in my 2 cents.....

It is soooo hard to pick a favorite of the two, but if I had to I would pick This Mystery. I think that at the time I first heard it, and continuing up until this very day, I have been in a period of intense questioning. I've wondered so much how we took this simple Gospel and turned it into a gigantic coorpation. I've wondered if my beliefs are truly mine or if they are just handed down to me from churches and parents and mentors. I've doubted just about everything I've ever believed and somewhere along the way I lost the awe and mystery and reverence that comes from knowing the Creator of the universe. I think I like TM because she seemed to be going through the same exact things as what I am. Songs like "Home", "Help Me Believe" and "Small Enough" still make me break down in tears almost a year after I first heard them, and coming from a macho, hide-your-feelings guy that really is quite a feat. When I get so busy I forget all about God all I hear inside my mind is "This Mystery". I want "Every Season" played at my funeral. I love every song on there, each time I pop it in the player I almost expect to be touched. The entire CD speaks vividly of her doubts and her confusion and her desire to regain that childlike faith and gosh it sure helps to know there is someone else out there feeling the same way as you are. Musically I like the more rocking, darker vibes of Wide Eyed, but when it comes to music that touches my heart I think TM wins out...
