Hey guys... Creed's new cd came out today.. and I am really liking it... my favorite song so far has been Stand Here With Me... some of the lyrics from that song include:

Just when fear blinded me
you taught me to dream
I’ll give you everything I am
and still fall short of
What you’ve done for me
In this life that I live
I hope I can give love unselfishly
I’ve learned the world is bigger than me
You’re my daily dose of reality

Though it annoys me that Creed doesn't openly glorify God, I believe that lyrics like these are truly inspired by Him... this is a great cd, and I reccommend it. :):)

Just got the new cd and have been burning a hole into it for the past five hours or so... you all must go get this cd... it is unbelievable... whether they are Christian or not is irrevelent, it's good uplifting music and that's all that matters... they will find God someday if they are truly searching.

peace
Jim

Moving this to CD's because it is neither CCM nor Praise. ::shrugs::

I will not support any act that tries to sound exactly like Pearl Jam. What is with all these new "hardcore" acts that try and sound exactly like Eddie Vedder? Why would they want to sound like Pearl Jame anyway? They suck. I could supply a whole list of rock acts that when I hear them on the radio I ask others in the car "Since when did Pearl Jam come out w/ a new song" and they say something like "This is Pile of Mudd" or whatever.

my favorite song on the cd is the one right before my sacrifice, one last breath. it is so good. and, on the cd they kinda clear up a lot of issues that people have been wondering about, like how they were not a christian band, and that" this is not about god" really good album.

ok... I guess the other 10 million people who buy Creed's cd's can make up for you not supporting them... anyway, I havent heard any acts that sound like pearl jam.. except a pearl jam cover band or something... and they don't really sound too much like them anyway.

What is with all these new "hardcore" acts that try and sound exactly like Eddie Vedder?

Eddy Vedder never came off as "hardcore" to me.. so I don't know how a "hardcore" band could sound like him..

Why would they want to sound like Pearl Jame anyway? They suck.

Creed sounds nothing like Pearl Jam. In fact, if you listen to the "My Own Prison" album, they don't even come near to resembleing them... And the fact that Pearl Jam hasn't been really that successful since the Vitology album back in '94 is another thing that seperates them from Creed. All three of Creed's albums are success stories.. next week, "Weathered" will be their third cd to debut at #1 on billboards charts... something pearl jam never attained...

dont get me wrong.. I am a huge Pearl Jam fan, but Creed is nothing like them (better, in my opinion..)

Creed's success from the beginning and Pearl Jam's lack of it since "Vitalogy" have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not Creed sounds like Pearl Jam...

I like "Who's Got My Back" ... that song just straight up rocks!

The rest of the CD is awesome, as well.

Did anyone catch the thing on VH1 about them?

How about the half-time show at the Dallas/Denver game on Thursday when Scott and Co. sang "My Sacrifice" and "Don't Stop Dancing"?

Blessings,
Andy

Is Weathered as good as Human Clay or better?

I wasn't comparing Pearl Jam and Creed specifically music wise- only singing wise. Eddie Vetter and the Creed guy sound exactly the same.

Dude...they SO do not!

Sheesh.

First of all I really like Creed and I am probably going to get the new cd. I was listening to some of their new songs on the internet yesterday and I was kinda surprised. Maybe not surprised but {I do not know the name of the songs I was listenin too}Scott Stapp, the lead singer didn't sound the same like on Human Clay. Did anyone else notice a difference?http://www.angelfire.com/ga4/dbdj4him May the horse be with you--Relient K

Creed seems to be moving towards a heavier sound.. which is cool with me.. I really like the way stapp is singing on this album..

I don't know where this should go, so I'm putting it here (but feel free to move it!) What do you guys think o Creed's new CD "Weathered"? I know their first CD had some questionable stuff on it but the 2nd one was pretty good...does anyone know anything about the new one?

I had no idea they had a new cd out. These days if it is not announced at CGR or on my local christian radio station then I have no idea when an artist puts out a new cd. Human Clay was pretty darn good in my opinion though. I never listen to it anymore but around two years ago my wife and I were really having a tough time with my son who was born about two months early. I took that Human Clay cd to the hospital with me and the song EYES WIDE OPEN has always been dear to me since. I had plenty of time to listen as little Joshy was in the hospital for two weeks with underdeveloped lungs. I really love the song FACELESS MAN.......heavy. I will check out the new disc now that I know they have a new one out. My cousin has already bought it I assume. He is a Creed freak. He even thinks Creed is better than Third Day. Wow, what a freak. God bless <><

HEY SCOTT BOY, I ALSO TOOK PLENTY OF PINK FLOYD TO THE HOSPITAL WITH ME WHEN JOSH WAS LAID UP FOR THOSE TWO WEEKS. I AM A PINK FLOYD FREAK. I OWN EM' ALL. I GOT TO SEE WATERS LIVE IN THE FLESH IN MOUNTAINVIEW, CA LAST YEAR.

did any of you read the article about creed in tuesday's USA today? basically (i think it was scott) said that people were miscatagorizing them as a Christian band. he also said that they believed not in God (as in Yahweh) but in the concept of god. scott said something to the effect of he "believed in the god he saw in his son, in the god he saw in the beauty of the grand canyon." i know he's a PK and was forced to read the bible, but he sounds like he's trying to avoid the issue: i can't imagine someday looking at my child and seeing the "buddha-image" in him or the "kali-image" in him (or her). so it sounds like God's trying to get to him, and he's fighting it pretty tough. or something. does this make any sense?

yeah I know they don't consider themselves a Christian band, or don't even consider themselves Christians, but in my opinion if a band produces a CD that supports Christian values, even indirectly, they deserve support (unless they are making REALLY blasphemous statements in public or something) and especially when they sound as good as Creed. :) So...anybody heard any other songs that are on the CD?

This CD ROCKS!!!!!

My Sacrifice was a great release to make people get the CD but it is definitely not a one-hit wonder because they have so many good ones.

"Freedom Fighter", "One Last Breath", "My Sacrifice", "Stand Here With Me", "Weathered", "Don't stop Dancing", they're all excellent songs.

BTW, these are just my favorites, the otheres are all good as well.

But the real thing that brings this CD to greatness comes not from Scott Stapp's singing (which is excellent... and he shows more emotion on this cd) but from Mark Tremonti's Guitars and Basses!! He's such an excellent musical writer that he is able to convey his feelings into every song that he plays, it's so good.

These guys aren't Christian they say, but it's like I've always said,

"If you write from the heart, then the heart shows in the song" and these guys have pure hearts!!

actally i don't like the new album.... the songs seem to have lost all there meaning.... there older songs had much of a meaning behind them instead of the new one....

well only some have lost the meaning..it still has some awesome ones on it... like "stand here with me"

I totally agree...maybe it's 'cuz Mark wrote a lot more lyrics for Weathered than he has in the past.

I definetly Like Human Clay better than Weathered.

I'm into the harder stuff and weathered just doesn't really appeal to me as much as Human Clay does or did.
