Essential Records announced the release date for <I>City On A Hill - Sing Alleluia</I> ... February 19th, 2002.

This is from the press release...

In keeping with the original concept, City On A Hill - Sing Alleluia showcases another collaboration of artists including return contributors <B>Jars of Clay</B>, <B>Third Day</B>, <B>Caedmon's Call</B>, <B>FFH</B>, and <B>The Choir</B> as well as newcomers <B>Jennifer Knapp</B>, <B>Nichole Nordeman</B>, <B>Bebo Norman</B>, <B>Fernando Ortega</B>, and <B>Phil Keaggy</B> <I>among others</I>. Also returning to the project is <B>producer Steve Hindalong</B>, who earned a Producer of the Year Dove Award nomination in 2001 for his work on the initial album.

"I'm so grateful to Essential Records for giving me the opportunity to do it again," said Hindalong. "The process was, to say the least, challenging, yet thoroughly satisfying. I've never been more pleased with a project. Many amazing artists 'painted on the common canvas.' The result -- an album we share and offer collectively -- is beautiful beyond what I'd imagined."

Another artist who left her mark on the 'common canvas' is visual artist and music veteran Kim Thomas (Say So). Once again, Thomas was commissioned to design an original painting for the album.

Similar to City On A Hill - Songs of Worship and Praise, the latest release comprises a variety of original worship tunes from a community of artists. Pairings on this record include <B>Fernando Ortega with Mac Powell</B> on the power-ballad "Our Great God" and <B>Caedmon's Call with Phil Keaggy</B> on "Communion." <B>Mac Powell also joins Jennifer Knapp on the standout track, title cut, and first radio single "Sing Alleluia."</B> In addition to new songs, City On A Hill - Sing Alleluia features a few familiar melodies like the traditional church hymn "All Creatures of Our God And King," which ended the first album and opens as well as closes the new song list.
