i think i missed something. who in the world are the Earthquakes and why is M@ T playing with them?

Matt Thiessen and The Earthquakes is just a side project of M@'s. They consist of M@ on piano, Brian on bass, and Dave on drums. Sort of like a Ben Folds sound from the stuff I've heard. Basically you could say the piano driven songs on "Anatomy of..." are done by them.

Actually, Matt T and the Earthquakes started out as a joke. Matt T would come up with these crazy songs on the piano at Matt H's house. It wasn't really Relient K material, so they came up with the project band as an excuse to play the songs live at shows. The very first Earthquakes show featured Matt T on the piano and Matt H on bass.

i think i was at that show. at least, i was at a MT&tE show w/ thiessen on piano and hoopes on bass. it was funny.
