I just wanted to know what other people thought.Personally I love dc talk and I hope they are going to make many more albums together. I ask this because I heard some of my friends saying that they probably are done because they have made a greatest hits album and have done solo albums. What do you think?"So I here you say you wanna come and get some! Should I mention I got your attention? Know that I'm a man on a mission,my position is MOMENTUM baby!!!!! [tobyMac,Momentum]

DC Talk is NOT breaking up. You gave a quote from Momentum. Here's another one:

Somebody told me that you're taking a break
A sabbatical from rhyming on the records that you make
A little birdie said that wasn't the case
And blamed your exodus on DC partners Kevin and Tait...

Hold up, I didn't say all that

If you're wonderin' why I continue to try my
Skills at this rap game
Girl, I can' get enough

ESPECIALLY in matters like this (and also things like Sonicflood breaking up...not true) that only the people directly involved would actually know. Not directed at you, but people in general.

bennie Sonicflood is still a group...different people, but still a group. Sonicflood did NOT break up, but the members did...one by one. Sonicflood, however, is still alive and kickin'...just not as good as they used to be. And about the pot head thing....you're doing just what I said I didn't like before...assuming.

dcT has NEVER made any hints about breaking up. They've even said in concerts that they're taking some time to do some of their own ministry/music projects, but they are still together. Also, a greatest hits album definitely does NOT mean someone's quitting. I even have proof of that: Steven Curtis Chapman's 1996 Greatest Hits album and Clay Crosse's 1999 Greatest Hits album. I think it's pretty dang safe to argue that both of them have not quit yet.

Also, there was an article that I read back in like, August or so that was an interview with Toby and Mike, and Toby has made a good point that there have been NUMEROUS rumors that their band was breaking up, but as people can see they haven't been true yet.

I think until they actually have some sort of press conference saying they are breaking up, or one of them CONFESSES that they've been smoking pot (which is a ridiculous assumption) then people just need to keep their mouths shut. -- this isn't targeted at anyone in particular -- just people that assume things are true 'cuz they heard it from some dude walking down Main St.

I was not assuming that dc talk is breaking up. I was simply asking other people's opinion. If I was assuming I would have said something like "I am pretty sure that dc talk is breaking up because they have made solo albums." I agree that a Greatest Hits album doesn't mean that a group is calling it quits,I was repeating what a friend of mine said. Lots of bands like for instance the Newsboys and dc talk come out with greatest hit albums because they have already made so many great songs. I repeat I really like dc talk and I do not think they are splitting up.May the horse be with you---Relient K

Like JesusFreak06 I was askin a question. Are we not allowed to ask questions or opinions without being named as people who are assuming things???????Speakin of I have heard that pot thing from more than one person. But that very well could be a rumor.

Well,

As I said in my previous post, this REALLY was not targeted at anyone in particular. I'm just getting a little off my chest, 'cuz I've heard all kinds of rumors about them and stuff ever since the "Free at Last" album. I honestly think people need to just respect their privacy and not start rumors and things that aren't necessarily true, and even if they are true, SO WHAT??? People are people.

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." -- Romans 3:23

"But when they persisted in asking Him, <*3> He straightened up, and said to them, ""<*4> He who is without sin among you, let him be the <*5> first to throw a stone at her.'' -- John 8:7

I'm not chewing anyone out and I'm not mad at anyone in particular. I just know that I've been burned by rumors, either by saying them about others and to others, both. I think they're stupid and really don't accomplish anything for the betterment of the Kingdom.

In answer to your questions.

No, they are not breaking up -- just taking time apart, and also allowing Kevin Max his space to take care of things within his marriage. (what it is, I don't know, but I don't really care, I'm just gonna pray for them)

Also, there has been no information divulged saying that one of them has a pot problem. I have many ways of finding things out, and I work in Christian media and have heard nothing of the sort, so where this person gets their information seems unreliable.

Please know that I'm not mad at any of you. Just think really long and hard about where you get your info and where they're getting theirs. That is all.

I love you guys, and keep the posts going.

Ya okay they really might be rumors.I do really get sick of hearing all these things about Christian bands though.Things that Christians shouldn't be doing. So it makes me wonder how many bands out there with the label Christian act it.But then these things might be just rumors.

Guys..... hold up.
I saw dc talk in concert at the insider out soul festival. Michael Tait came out and was talking about how people say the band is gonna break up because hes on drugs, and then he said it wasn't true. Nobody worry, cause there not breakin up and not on drugs, there just spending time at home because KMax waqnts more time with his family. (And I dont blame him.)
God Bless

well, i saw them in concert back in the summer, and afterwards, we met them, and toby and michael are probably two of the nicest guys i have ever met.... but when kmax came over there, we all had some strange feeling, we felt that he may have been close to selling out. Just something about his personality was troubling. It seemed that he was putting on a show, which toby and michael didn't. He was a nice guy and all, but there was just that strange feeling we got. I prayed for him a few times, just praying that if his career was between him and God, that he would turn back, and hopefully this time off will serve the purpose of letting him grow closer to his family, and his Father. But of course maybe that feeling we got was just us fooling ourselves, and Kmax's relationship with God was above all, and still is, i'd rather that be true... but anyway, just my two cents
