Ok, so at this revival last week, there was a praise band with an electric guitarist. His guitar had no head to it. You sting it from the top of the fretboard down to the bottom where you can tune it. It looked pretty cool and the band was really nice. I was talking to the electric player and he said the guitar only cost him around $200. I forget if it was used or not. Anyway, can anybody help me ID this guitar or at least know what I'm talking about? I just want some info on it.

Sounds like a Steinberger. Check out musicyo for specifics. Last I saw there were a couple different body styles to choose from.

Thanks, have you ever played one or heard one? If so, what's your opinion on their sound? Cuz when I heard it, there was a lot of effect so I didn't get to hear the natural sound of it.

I played around on one of the originals back in like '86...they're now called the "Spirit" line

Took some getting used to. Didn't feel as comfortable to me as a standard guitar...maybe because it's missing the "meat" that a headstock provides. Plus, the tiny body was very strange. Neck was okay, but the Trans Trem was why I tinkered with it. That thing wouldn't go out of tune no matter what.

IMO, it's one of those instruments that's flashy enough that if you show up to a gig, you better make sure you know how to play.
