I'd rather play on moden keyboards\synthesizers, although I'd like to play on a grand piano(I get to play on a baby grand each week at my piano teacher's house for my piano lesson) or a retro synthesizer.

I would want to be surrounded by keys...

Hammond B-3 in front
(Stacked with):
-Moog Polymoog
-Moog Minimoog
Fender Rhodes on the Left
(Stacked with):
-Honer Clavinet
-ARP Odyssy
Digital Stuff to the Right:
(two tier stand):
-Yamaha DX-7
-Roland D-50

i have a Roland KR-4500 digital piano

but i would trade that for a grand or baby grand in a sec if it weren't for my parents preferences

I really don't care what i play on as long as i can play for God its alright for me. But if i had to chosse i would rather play on a baby grand or digital keyboard!!!!

it depends on what type of music i'm playing, if it's classical stuff, i love to play on a grand, but for most other stuff a modern keyboard.

definitely the grand. . . mmmm. . . you can get feeling out of hammers and wood and strings that you just can't get out of anything electric.

ARGH. . . I can't believe that the keyboards and synths are winning. . . Let's get some more votes for the Grand!!!! If I only had the money I would have one. . . :(

The B-3 is always my #1 choice.

Don't get me wrong, I love the electronic things, but you just can't replace the feeling and the sound you get from playing the REAL THING.

VOTE FOR THE REAL THING

That's true.... but can your "real thing" sound like a Rhodes, or a Wurly, or a whole string section? ;)

VOTE FOR KEYBOARDS!!!

I voted for the grand.:D

Personaly, I like how the grand sounds, there's no alternative for the genuine deal, but i like the programing and voices of a keyboard.

The best set up would be to have a grand and 2 synths.

Oh yeah, is there some place n00bs have to sign in(like a thread) or is this just it:

Hi.

I want to get a Grand Piano that has MIDI controllers so I can still play a Grand but control my synths at the same time. It would be the best of both worlds.

AMEN!!! thats the truth... i voted for grand piano, but being the ardent Caedmon's fan that i am, the b-3 is not far behind...:D

I voted for acoustic grand.
You just can't beat it!

Well, I only prefer the modern digital keyboard if the keys are weighted . I can't stand them without weighted keys. I play on a Yamaha synth. at church and I would much rather play on a grand than that because the keys never feel right.

Yeah, i like the keys really stiff, my church has a brand new baby grand, i love playing that one!
But your fingers hurt when you get done playing!

I totally agree. Except I wouldn't mind having a waterfall, semi-weighted board for B-3 stuff. :D

I vote for synth, because, well, a grand would be really hard to lug around to concerts!!!! :p

Really, though, I have a Korg and I love it!!!! Very versatile!!

Also, I find now that I'm used to the "synth" feel, that weighted keys really slow me down, you can really "blaze" with the lighter touch!!

I play piano too so I'll just stick around. I would rather play an acoustic grand piano.
