Call me the Ambassador for analog! If you care about your tone, get single effects units! Do not get that multi-effects garbage! I can't stand multi-fx!! Ahhhhhhhhh!! sorry... I get a little heated talking about multi-fx. Stay away from digital at al costs. Unless your going Line 6 or something high end like that. Danelectro does a great job! Check em out! www.danelectro.com

i cant figure jael out,he seems to onyl liek analog, but always advertises for dano, which tone wise aren't as good as any of the digitech's rp series(100-2000),dont get me wrong dano does make a few good products(5 at the most),but you will not a get a better sound out of a dano compared to a digitech.i use 2 dano pedals(tremolo and eq) on my pedal board then run the bord into a rp300(always on,i leave it on the first patch, you can fint it in the digitech patch library, under "clean (the best)".at www.digitech.com)anyway,i highly recommend the rp100-2000,it actually might take you a while to completely perfect the boxes tone(took me almost a full year to totally perfect it).but don't go all dano,a lot of their pedals are nto good at all,in my opinion none of their distortions are good(gonna get flamed for that one),their overdrive lacks, their chorus sounds like a broken boss, and their reverb sounds like grinding metal.while their delay/echo tends to be unreliable.I've tried almost every one in the mini line(except for that phaser and the tuners)but the only "good" pedals they make are the tremolo,eq,flanger, rotary speaker, and maybe, just maybe the tuner(but i ahve yet to try it).

Now don't get me wrong here. I love analog, but I just think that for your money, the Dano's are better. not saying that I'm rich (Please Lord, bless me...) But I like good stuff with great tone. And nowadays, to get great tone, you gotta shell out some serious cash. So you have your options, Get a tone-sucking multi... get Dano stuff for just a bit more money (greater tone) Or shell out for some Marshall, Electro/Harmonix, Hughes & Kettener a bunch of other things... To get those high end "boutique" pedals you gotta work and save. Sweat,Grease, Do whatever you have to do, to get great tone. Is $300 worth the sacrifice of tone? I don't think so...

Get a GT-6 instead they rock!
go to harmony central and confirm.
I got one and it opened a whole new world of guitar playing for me. Compare it to other units and you'll see it is way better than anything else...well maybe not as good as the $900 roland unit, but it's the best on it's price range.

you know what would be an awesome setup,a gt-6 and a vg-88(with synth pickup of course)the possibilities might actually be endless, that would be so awesome to use those 2 boards together.hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

HEY MAN!! Don't be dissing Dano!! I'm having all sorts of fun with my cheapy little EQ pedal! ;) (I'm only joking, of course... Dano ranks about second to last on my effects-pedal makers list.... Rogue is last obviously)

As to the original question. Don't get Zoom. 'Nuff said. I have never heard ANYTHING but bad reviews of Zoom products.... and I get to hear an RP unit all the time.... it sounds great!

I only recommened Dano cuz' if your spending money on the Crap you can get cheap stuff for the same price! The same $300 you pay for that guitar-dung, you could get some kick-butt pedals from Dano that SOUND BETTER! There comes a point in every players carreer when Dano won't cut it for most things, (like Overdrives/Distorstions Dano sucks for that. The Modulations are great, and everbody uses that EQ)) but you grow out of Dano and on to better more exspensive things! Multi-Effects would be great if they cost $50 bucks but for those outrageous prices, then can keep that crap in the factory!

Yeah hey guys I started this thread so let me say this -I got to play on both zoom and digitech and i must say I like the 505 more then the degitech.I also own 2 dano pedals (black coffee and peperroni phaser) and i love em.I looked at musiciansfriend.com and most of there pedals were around $30-50 which is better then spending $80 on the multi effect crap.So in summary 505 good, digitech not so good, dano tastey.

man.. i just typed a big reply comparing dano to digitech but it messed up..... well anyway... for not even all the stuff my rp300 can do you'd have to pay well over $400 for dano stuff... and i only paid $200 for my digitech...... if you want the most bang for your buck... buy multi-effects.... and i know my sound quality is better than dano's too!!

i think some of guys are confused about what im talking about here, is the Zoom 505 better for the money then Digitechs rp 100(not 200 or 300 or the Gntex stuff)?I thought the zoom had better sound then 100 the other day when i played it.But yeah

For the most part, the effects on the RP-100 are the same ones used on the 200 and 300.

I thought the zoom had better sound then 100 the other day when i played it.But yeah

Your opinion is the one you should base your final decision on..... if you like the Zoom more, then go ahead and buy it. I, personally, would recommend you go with the Digitech..... I've never considered Zoom a high-quality brand.

All I ever heard was good reviews for the digitech and bad reviews for zoom, but I liked how the zoom sounded and got it instead. I haven't had a single problem with it yet, but I've only had it for a few months.

It is a great way to get a taste of what effects you like before blowing a huge amount of money on the real things. I'd recomend it.

P.S.
Mine is a 505 II. I don't know if you were talking about this or the old 505. Anyhow....

Good luck chosing one:)

i've never played a zoom but i can say i'm very happy with my digitech...... basically the 200 and 300 just add more on to the 100.. it's the same sounds and stuff....

in my quest for tonal perfection,i've found out that the digitech rp series is teh best multifx next to the boss multi's.in my opinion the rp100 is far superior than the zoom,it would be great if you could a/b them.right now(and as of now;forever) I use a rp300 with my "perfect setting" in teh effects loop of my amp, never turn it off(rarely will mess with teh volume pedal)you can get great sounds out of it.the only problem i ahve had with my rp300 is the v-switch broke, but the 100 has no v-switch so minus that,no complaints.hope i helped

check out the digitech RP7....used.....125 bucks....real workhorse.
I owned one. I gave it to my son Joe. He leads worship for H.S.
group. Anywhooo...it has every sound ya could possibly need. If
ya discover that ya really like individual analog pedals(hint hint)
and you very well may....*smiles*.....you will only be out 125
bucks that by the way could buy 2 nice classic pedals.
