YUP! I got it! I got theres and Creed's new CD! The Creed cd ROCKS!!!! WOW! Put the FIF's new one is good! I SAY GOOD!!
Which of their albums is it most like? Is it more like older FIF or never FIF?

Its like never FIF. It's totally different from anything they have ever done. Reese wrote a lot of the music on this, and he never did that before. Micha and Sonnie did some too which is unusal. The closest one to their old stuff would probably be Plan B.

OK, lemme ask a different question. Is the punk back?

Kinda sorta. Its more staight up rock than anything, but there is a little punk in it.

I think it is their best CD ever. It really showcases Reese's vocal talent and takes FIF to a different level. It really is kind of a true cross between all sorts of stuff (ska, punk, rock, emo...) Great disc...

Hmm... maybe I won't give up on FIF, could it be that they're back from the edge of insanity?

I think the new album is good, but the songs are really depressing like... Plan B has to be the best song.. Then maybe Juggernaut. Plan B is like the older stuff... I like the older songs like Flowery Song, Dandelions, Me oh My (not really that new..), Old West, and etc.. Songs where it was like all a certain horn line kinda thing.. Like "Never Cool enough for you"

The new FIF CD is awesome even though the songs are more depressing, they really have meaning. Lack of meaning is something that has bothered me in the back of my mind for the other albumns. Oh well this one is great and I think it is the best yet!

There new CD is the BEST out! (like many have said before.) I don't think many of the songs on the cd are THAT depressing. I do like that they added more of a rock flavor into these songs. One thing that I have found out about FiF, though, is that a lot of their songs are just "fun" songs. Only out of a fraction of the songs that they do can you pick out a Christian theme directly. Does anyone else understand what I mean?
I still think that FiF is one of the best Christian ska bands out there (second only to the great OC Supertones). But I just wish that I could point out the Christian message in their songs better when someone asks me, "What does that have to do with being a christian?"

Did you know that Justin McRoberts did some background vocals for FIF? :) He's a good artist!

Some songs do have an apparent Christian message such as Eulogy, Far, Far Away, and Spartan. But the reason you can't pick out the Christian message in the others is because there isn't one. Songs like Plan B are just for fun, and the others deal w/ the issuses of society. Like Vultures talks about capitalism, Blue Mix talks about the Christian music industry, and The Day That We Killed deals w/ how we treat people that we see as lesser than ourselves (such as the Native Americans, hence the Crazy Horse reference). I think it's cool that they are a Christian band, but don't limit themselves to Christian topics. I really respect that.

I read somewhere that Plan B is just a celebration of laziness!
"I think I've found my calling now, laying down in the yard. Don't you cry mama, don't you even weep cause you know that your son excels at sleep"
How great is that?

yeah, up til you told me, i had always thought they were refering to Jesus as plan b. however, with this revelation i made a bunch of copies and showed them to people at school. it was a huge hit. i turned one of the copies in with my last big English essay. my teacher loved it.:D

Hmm...I had always thought that Plan B was about how rediculous you were when you gave up and just resorted to laziness and idle living. Oh well...hee hee! But, like anyone else has to say it, Electric Boogaloo is definately their best CD ever. Well, I kinda like Proof That The Youth Are Revolting, too, but still. LoL. Some of their previous CDs have been pretty secular...okay, maybe secular isn't the word, but a lot of their previous songs have not been as focused on God...which is, as someone already said, kinda awkward when someone says "what does this have to do with God?" or "how does this make them a Christian band?" or something. Especially All The Hype...that one was pretty, I suppose I can say, secular, for lack of a better word. But almost all the songs on E.B. are focused on either a Christian topic, or some real-life issue/topic...they all have meaning. That's awesome.

Oh and, just a quick question...why Five Iron Frenzy 2?? What's with the 2 at the end? New style of FIF? New band members? Skillet only has 1 of the original members, and they're not Skillet 4 or anything...I dunno. Anyone have an answer??

You can say "Look, christians can have fun and mess around too!"

I think the title comes from a movie title. Try lookin up Electric Boogaloo on google or something and i think you'll get it.

I thoroughly enjoy the cd but I am a bit curious as to why it is Five Iron Frenzy 2: Electric Boogaloo. Why the 2?
Did you look it up? Everything comes up as "(blah) 2: Electric Boogaloo" There was some movie sequel that was subtitled Electric Boogaloo I think. What that has to do with FIF, I have not a clue.

Roast: I read somewhere that Plan B is just a celebration of laziness!
Me: I thought it was about God too. We should start a thread and talk about it until somebody goes and looks it up for all of us lazy people who act like Reese in the song.

I think that this cd is entirely different from any of their other stuff, but as a huge FIF fan, I'm not dissapointed. This cd showed a lot more meaningful songs, but as great as ever. Although they aren't as lively as they are in other albums.

Comments: The chorus actually sounds like "giving up never felt so good", but here's what the liner notes have :) In any case, a great song about being at the point where you just want to stop even trying because you're so overwhelmed with failure... or perhaps it's just a celebration of being lazy. I can relate either way :)
I found that on a fans website. This girl has some kinda contact w/ the band. Its a cool site. Check it out if you have time...

Btw, All the Hype had a lot of Christian Topic/real life issue songs.
Someone mentioned World Without an End. Also, think about A New Hope (Reese says some really good stuff about that one on the live album), The Greatest Story Ever Told, and 451 just to name a few. All of their albums are pretty Christian actually. Just think about A Flowery Song, or Every New Day.
Last thing:
The two comes from a movie called Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.
One of the band members said it was supposed to be a joke, but no one really got it. lol
Thats all for now

I bought it a while ago, and I like it better than all the hype. all the hype had only 5 or 6 songs that were good, but majority of this cd is awesome. i'm out.

to clarify the title.
Five Iron Frenzy 2: Electric Boogaloo is a play on the title of an old 80s breakdancing video called Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo

Plan B is about giving up. I mean haven't we all gotten to the point where sometimes we just don't want to try any more?? But God is always with us giving us hope to go on. That's why Plan B is a bad idea. With God we can always bounce back up after we fall..or feel worn out or depressed.
Vultures is about being materialistic. I mean yeah capitalism fuels that ..but how many of us would give up all the things we have and leave our comfortable lives because some of us are against capitalism?? Answer:NOT MANY. Capitalism provides comfort. In history other methods of economy have failed time and time again. Like the fall of the U.S.S.R. , and today even China is slowly working towards capitalism. I think Vultures
is about how people abuse money for their selfish whims..how selfish and superficial people can be with money and material possessions. but I agree with you on The Day We Killed.

I think it's kind of simplistic to call any of Five Iron's work "secular" I mean, they have fun and write songs that are funny, but if a song doesn't say "god" or "Jesus" in it does it make it not Christian? A lot of their stuff has to do with Christian life, and I admire them for writting that way. I mean, Blue Comb '78 for example. Yeah, if you just listen to it quickly, it sounds like a song about a comb (what's the point there) but it's really about Reese's parent's getting divorced. And that affects a lot of people, Christian or not, this day in age. I think they are a fine example of a group of Christians playing for God, the way they should. They are not a praise and worship band, but their actions praise God and they do have intimate songs directly related to the Lord.
And for the record, I think they are one of the most talented acts in "Christian" music. ...more than the supertones bwahaha

1. Far Far Away (flat out amazing, "I hear they'll hang you upside down..", and "Peter swam across the water..." those lines are incredible to me)
2. Vultures (it's weird and i hated it at first, but it is great now!)
3. Plan B (funniest song, i've ever heard)
