Taylor all the way! If you're looking at cheap, go with a 355ce. If you're looking to spend alot, go with a 655ce.

Honestly, Gibson has a good name with electric's (very $$$ also), but they struggle with real wood. Go anywhere but Gibson (esp their $ cowboy -j series?). You will pay to much, and receive less.

Follow Aaron, if you can! Taylor makes the best wood machines. But they will probably be out of your $ figure. Look a around, and find what you like.

Good luck! I'll be praying for you, and let me know what you find!

I found a Taylor Jumbo 955 12-string many years ago, before they were as hot as they are today. Who would have known? Ask your friends to tell you what to look for, what is good wood, what is good construction. Pick the next new best instrument beyond Taylor!

I own a vintage 1978 takamine F-400 12 string. I have played it against the new guild stuff and mid level taylor stuff, and sonically, it wins. The neck is chunkier, so it's a little harder to play, but if you are jsut looking for sound, go vintage!
