What do you guys think about Creed breaking up? Do you guys think it was better with just Creed or now with Alter Bridge and Stapp?
I personally loved Creed, but I also like Alter Bridge and Scott Stapp's music.
So what do you guys think?

Good.
Just wondering but why do you think it was good? or do you just not like the band?

good and bad.
Good because Creed was pretty generic and mediocre.
bad because now there's two of them.

I think it's stupid that it's even being discussed now. It's been how long since they broke up?

It's been like 3 years, but I thought it would be interesting if people prefer Creed or Alter Bridge and Stapp

Its a bad thing. As much as people love to bash Creed, they really were at the top of their genre. People that make fun of Creed are generally just making of Scott Stapp's rather absurd personality. Creed was never really revolutionary but they had a distinct sound when they came out (Stapp may sound a bit like Eddie Vedder but Creed sounds nothing like Pearl Jam). They sound generic now because 10,000s of bands (literally) have followed in their footsteps. Insanely popular bands with absurd personalities WILL ALWAYS BE MADE FUN OF FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.
Anyway, neither Altar Bridge or Scott (from what I"ve heard) are really doing anything that different from Creed. And personally I prefer Stapp to Altar Bridges singer. Stapp's vocals, while sometimes a bit over the top, ARE full of enough emotion to match the epic nature of the songs. Stapp's solo music (from the two songs I"ve heard) lacks the distinctiveness of Tremonti's riffs. Thus, it comes off just like countless Creed rip-offs. Further, without the musical tension caused by difference you have Stapp's bad ideas going unchecked....just listen to the lyrics on his new single.
The two forces were much stronger as a single unit than two.

I think Alter Bridge is a much more enjoyable band than Creed. I won't say better, because I'm not sure that they are better. I saw them in concert recently, and they're basically Creed X2 in the heavy department. IOW, take any Creed song and make it twice as heavy sounding, and now you have an Alter Bridge song.

have any of you listened to blackbird?? you cant deny the musicianship. you can count some things towards personal preferences like liking myles or stapps voice, or the heavier or lighter side...but you cant deny their musicianship. plus, they have a really good message of hope for a better tomorrow, world, self in just about every song. just my two cents.

Don't rez dead threads. Just don't do it. Let Creed stay where it belongs.... out of sight... out of mind.... and hopefully long forgotten in just a few years.

lol I read this. . . Cause now its up there. . . And was like "oh creed broke up?", then read it was 3 years ago, then read the date, 2005, and like uhh wow.
So ya. . . Dead threads resurrecting = way to confusing
I like Creed. I enjoy all three of their CDs these days. I wish they hadn't broken up.

Same here. I'm somewhat pleased with the post-Creed music, but every time I pull out my bootlegs of concerts (and I never saw'em live), I'm sad about the breakup. "My Own Prison" was clearly the best CD, but "Human Clay" was also very, very good, and even "Weathered" had its good songs. I do think the band will eventually get back together for a reunion tour, but not until Alter Bridge has run its course.
Coincidentally, Stapp's new CD is supposed to hit stores in August. I'm interested to hear if it's any different from the debut.

It's actually against forum rules to raise dead threads.

I thought there was an exception to this if it was a band thread and the poster said something relevant. At least that's what I was told when I raised an older Sanctus Real thread.

Not if the band has it's own forum. The rules are very complicated.
