I'm in the mood to do a poll...
It seems like there is three catagories of bass players: Fender fanatics, Ibanezers and those that hate Ibanez and/or Fender. (Well maybe hate is a strong word but you know what I mean.) I only seem to run into a few bass players like me who doesn't fit into any of these. I try to keep an open mind. All manufacturers have their good and bad basses. What do you guys think and who is your fav bass manufacturer?
Peace!

Both of my basses are Ibanez's. I'm not an Ibanez fanatic, but they were cheap and played well. The best manufacturer, in my opinion, is Warwick. If I ever manage to save up enough money, I'd get one of them.

Can you believe I turned down a used $500 Warwick because I was set on getting a five string? I forget what the model was but it had a single humbucker with passive electronics and a bolt on neck. The neck was made out of wenge (sp-?) and the body was bubinga. It was beautiful and played and sounded good too!
Sometimes I regret that decision, I make myself feel better about it though by plugging my fiver into my buddy's Mackie sound system with sub woofer and shake his whole house by hitting the low B. :D
Peace!

 Barely. But I probably would have passed up the same deal when I got my first bass because I really wanted a 6 string.

Maybe it's the Corvette or the Fortress MM. I think they both have a single humbucker.

Low B's are great too. I'd rather have a 4 string Warwick, but I already have a B string, so that's an easy decision.
Pick it up!

i've got an ibanez, i've played fenders. i think the Ibanez has more "balls", the fenders i've played sounded kind of weak.

I like Fenders! I love that Fender growl. I haven't tried out a lot of basses, but the Ibanez I have tried really didn't sound or play the way I liked. I'd be willing to give any bass a shot though!
