I wish I could find her contact info...
She sent a package to a friend of mine (autographed pictures and such), and the post office sent it back before my friend got to pick it up. She probably feels insulted by it. I know she was excited that someone in Missouri knew who she was.

Her name is Paige Lewis, she started out playing for my youth group, and we've just been watching her grow. Rumor has it (i cant guarentee its true) that she's opening for the Newsboys on their next tour. She dated one of my really good friends for a while, how crazy is this, looking at how big shes starting to become now?

Yeah I like her stuff she has good energy and a good heart...although her singing could use a little work *hehe* I say that b/c I decided to do one of her songs (heart of hearts) for a recital and my voice teacher listened to her singing it and she kept crindging...she couldn't even listen to the whole song LOL.

i think it's awesome that she writes her own stuff. not many chicks and especially not many "pop" singers write their own stuff. she's a pretty good writer too. i really want to see her in concert, but she'll probably won't make it to my neck of the woods for quite a while!

I hate to disagree, I think she's awesome and I love that she writes all her music but her voice kills me to listen to. She sings quite wrong...it's painful to listen to her sing for me b/c I know she's really messing up her voice.

Well my voice coach and I listened to her and realized she was singing from her throat, she has such a raspy/nasely sound sometimes which is b/c she's not singing from her diaphram at all if so her phrases wouldn't be choppy and the raspy nasel sound wouldn't be there either. When singers tend to try to be "stylistic" they tend to do bad things with their voices unless they are actually taught how to do it smoothly without hurting themselve and some dont even realize they're hurting themselves until later on down the line like Steven Curtis Chapmen who was only playing CD's at his concerts for a while b/c he'd hurt his voice so much and Cindy Morgan who was out for a LONG time in "voice rehab" pretty much b/c she had hurt her voice near not being able to sing again. But I think paige has a GREAT heart and good energy in her music and like I said I love how she writes her own stuff. She's a great example and light in the industry of Christian music.

IIRC, Steven Curtis Chapman suffered a virus not too long ago and that is why he lost his voice. He has since recovered - but I do not belive it to be due to his style of singing.

However, I have heard of many singers going into "voice rehab" for whatever reason.

I think of people like Jennifer Knapp - who sings falsetto on a regular basis. Or people like Mark Stuart - who seems to strain his voice regularly.

Good deal...you're awesome.

Blessings,
Andy

I hate to do this but I have to correct you on a couple things. I went to a SCC concert and he played his new CD b/c he said bascially he'd strained his voice singing the "wrong " way and all that...it wasn't b/c of a virus. And Cindy Morgan had to go into "voice rehab" b/c she was singing wrong...she talked all about it in a book I read recently that she wrote. If you sing the right way you won't strain your voice, it is possible.

So you're telling me that SCC never had a virus that caused him to not be able to sing?

Please say no...

Andy

oh and now my sister, who was w/ me, wants me to marry her!....

Well he might have had a virus that possibly contributed to that, but he himself said at a concert I attended he was singing badly and it caused him to mess up his vocal chords.
