Well AA announced that they will be exclusively playing Fender and Gretsch guitars and basses due to an endorsement deal. Just wondering any thoughts on this. I personally think it's interesting as Tyler has been playing his Les Paul Deluxe pretty exclusively...

I guess Ty's changed his ways. Well, his guitar preference, anyways :-/

It's going to definately change their sound a bit. I don't like the fact that they are changing over exclusively to Fender--I think they sould at least use Les Pauls for some songs. It's going to change the sound of some of their classic songs like Big House or Mighty Good Leader that were originally recorded with a Les Paul. Has anyone been to one of their recent concerts since they made the switch over to Fender guitars? Did it sound different?

Just because they're using Fender doesn't mean they can't still use humbuckers. Plus, there's Gretsch too. Gretsch makes some LP style guitars.

Well they're calling it quits, maybe Tyler couldn't stand that Fender sound, either ;)

Heh. I heard that thing about AudioA's last year being 2006. I wonder if Ty will start his own band. He's only in his early to mid twenties.

I hope so, he's too talented not to.

I know. In my opinion, he has the best male voice in Christian music, especially the way he developed it by Until my Heart Caves In. I hope he sings on more albums.

Telecasters use Humbuckers. but i still liked e'm when they used Gibsons.
plus, why can't mark just leave? the entire reason they're quitting is that mark can't sing like he could. Tyler would make a perfect lead singer.

They don't want to go on without Mark, I don't want them to either, it's not the same for sure. I went to a concert without Mark once and Tyler had to sing all the songs, it's hard to get the crowd going with a guitar strapped on. Who knows what God will have in store for them now?

When I saw them in concert about a month and a half ago Ty was playing his les paul-the entire concert. :) The backup guitarist and of Will were both playing fender instruments.

Well Fender does make a few models that have some decidedly Gibson features, and not just the use of humbuckers either. Check out the Toronado (http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0130900325) and the TC-90 Thinline (http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0262300541).

will has been exclusively Fender (pretty much) for years......

brian whitman --who started playing back-up for audioa in early '05-- plays a lot of Gretsch (esp Jet w/a Bigsby tailpiece)

and tyler... well... ty will play whatever he wants to. but mostly (lately) he sticks w/the LP or Telecaster.

as for AudioA finishing up........ Mark "says he told the other band members -- guitarist and singer Tyler Burkum, bassist Will McGinniss and drummer Ben Cissell -- that they should get a new lead singer, but they wouldn't hear it.

'It would be cool to see an Audio Adrenaline show from the crowd one time,' Stuart says with a laugh. 'It means a lot to me that the guys think Audio A is the guys that are in Audio A, and anything else would be a different band.'

that is all.

I've seen Ty play a Gretsch Jet in one of the pics on his myspace. Real sad though. Yeah, they just wouldn't be the same without Mark.

I guess we can just be thankful ty isn't using a strat.. that would completely ruin their sound. ;)
