It'll depend on your bass...

Generally speaking, you'll have a volume knob & a tone knob (also called pots). Different pickup combinations usually result in different knob configurations. Sometimes you'll see volume & tone pot dedicated to each pickup. Sometimes there'll be a single pot that is used to blend multiple pickups together.
