Emery:I Read The New AP Mag. And They Have An Article On Them

Get this i was reading the new ap mag. and they had an article on emery and in the article emery said that they drink beer, some of them smoke cigarettes, some of them cuss,and some do some horrble things. no lie that came from that article. then the singer said that why worry thats how a christian is supposed to act. i was shocked. why would they act tlike that. but i dont know what to think. so what do you guys think.

well the guy who interviewed them was like the had beer sitting in where he was interviewing them and he said that isnt emery a so called christian band and thats when he ask their singer toby morrel and thats when toby said what i put in my post i wrote. but maybe he was kidding i dont know but by the way i took it he meant it cause he didnt say he was just playing or anything but i really dont know you will probably just have to read it to get it but dont get me wrong i still love these guy their still one of the greatest in my book

well i'm sorry you guys believe whatever i know what i read so thats it i didnt want this to turn into a big arguement but why would i say something like that about them and lie thats stupid come on their one of my favorite bands and reading it shocked me thats why i posted about it and drinking beer and smoking cigareetes is bad and i really dont think god wants his true followers to do them but thats what i think you guys go ahead and think whatever all i wanted to know is if this was true but this turned into basically an arguement so lets just leave it here just read the article then maybe you will see what i read

I don't know if you can really trust the article's content. Bands are lied about all the time, I wouldn't be able to tell you one way or the other if this stuff was true, for a fact....but my guess would be that it was faulty material.

um... I'd have to say... well i like this band but I'd have to think about this article.

there is nothing really wrong with drinking... the Bible says that it's wrong for a church leader to be getting drunk.

the only thing that is wrong with smoking is that it damages your body... and the Bible does say to keep your body holy. The Bible doesn't talk about smoking because it wasn't exactly a problem when it was being written. In some places, though (Like the southern United States) smoking is equal to eating in culture... everyone does it, and it's not any sort of cultural taboo.

I have to say that I know Emery is big on relating to unsaved people by showing that they make mistakes too. Hence some songs like "So Cold I Could See My Breath", "Playing with Fire", and "Listening to Freddie Mercury". The sin because it's their nature, just like everyone. he probably was making this point when he said they do "Horrible Things". He probably meant that they sin too. I know you all do horrible things... like gossiping about emery...

Also, keep in mind that ANY magazine... Christian or secular... is going to print what they want and nothing more... they can take some things and edit any quote to make it's meaning different... so take things with a grain of salt.
