I started this thread before, but got no replies, so i'll start it in the Jars section this time.
Some of you said that you sing Worlds Apart in your youth groups, i need to know what percussion, if any, do you use with the song?

Please, someone reply.

When we played it for our youth group, we didn't even use any percussion. Just the open sound of an acoustic guitar and a couple of singers I think is an awesome way to do it. Gives the drummer a break and lets you open up on an acoustic type of worship.

I have used just light drum work on eletric drums, but I perfer a drum machine. That is a great song!

I've only played this song once with my youth group, and i played accordingly to the Studio version (the self titled album). That turned out very bad with the drums because the drummer doesn't know English well; therefore, he couldn't understand the beats I was making with the drums because of styleknowledge-differences. I would have played the drums, but I had to play guitar. But, my opinion in playing this song would be to first listen to the Swingtown live version of Worlds Apart and cover that song. The Swingtown version goes from a soft, acoustic intro to a passion-full & out-of-the-earth music experience. It's really emotional & touching. I would choose to play that version. This version would, I guess, encourage the congregation to really get into the words instead of the music.

I agree that the STRINGTOWN version is very good. We tried that and it is just a very very worshipful song. If you are still wondering, try that one!
