I play the acoustic guitar and I cant play an electric because I dont know the formations of the basic power chords. (ex: A, D, G, ect.). I was wandering if anyone knows a good web site with a chart or anything that gives the formation to power chords, becuase I cant seem to find any over the internet. At least not like all of the "open" and "barre" chord charts that there are.

Thanks and God Bless

Ok, I don't know of a web site, but I'll do my best to explain them. The basic power chord shape is the same (most of the time) for whatever chord you want to play. I think you can also play power chords on the high string, but that's not the same shape, and I'm not real sure about it so I'll just explain what I know. The root of your chord is going to be the bass note. The other two notes are on the next two strings, but two frets up. For instance if you wanted to play a G power chord, you would finger it 355xxx. Or for a D, x577xx. I'm probably not explaining it real well, but let me know if you have any questions. -Ryanne

Okay, go to the main page of this site, click on "lessons" on the left side of the page, there's a lesson called "the power of a chord," that'll tell you all about power chords.
Hope this helps,
