When I first heard that Blindside was releasing a new album on August 2nd, 2005, I was highly fearful that Blindside had stopped putting effort into their albums because they were going to release one so soon after About A Burning Fire. Honestly, I was not anticipating The Great Depression at all. I liked About A Burning Fire, but was not overly impressed with it, though, I do believe their sound had matured very much. I listened to AABF off and on after I bought it, and I got bored with it after a little while. So I reverted back to listening to their self-titled album Blindside, and their second release A Thought Crushed My Mind.

Well, dispite the galling thought of this new album, I motivated myself to go out and buy it. To my surprise, FYE, Bestbuy, nor Circuit City had the album in stock. There was a place for it at Bestbuy, but it had sold out. A Blindside section was nowhere to be found in Circuit City, and FYE only had Silence. I found Blindside's new album at the corporate whore, Wal-Mart, for $9.72. All I am going to say is this: The new album is f'ing amazing. It far surpasses any hopes, expectations, anticipations, and destroyed any doubts or fears I had about it. Blindside has come a long way, and I think this may be my favourite of all their albums now.

I recommend everyone to go and buy Blindside's new album, The Great Depression.

i picked it up today at Best Buy. i'm a little ticked though, i saw it there friday but i didn't have enough money to get it. since then it went from $9.99 to $14.99, which doesn't sound like much, but with gas so expensive....

i'll review the cd when i sit down and listen straight through, but my favorties so far are Yamkela and Fell in Love with the Game

Good cd But it didnt seems like they matured all that much from About a Burning Fire.It still had much the same guitar work which I geuss was alright. The vocals did go back to a bit of their older style and I liked that.
