The best worship leader?? Well, if you ask me, they all have different styles of worship....theyre all good in their own ways... I think Martin Smith is really good though...when he's on stage he's almost in his own world, and he doesnt care wut other people think, as long as he worships God. If you go by song writing, then there's alway Matt Redman (who i think is very inspiring and his music is awesome) or Chris Tomlin (who is also a very awesome song writing and passionate worshipper)

Well I'm going to say every single one of them! lol

If I had to choose, saying I've seen half of them life, I'd go with Delirou5? or David Crowder

But let me tell ya, Ol' J. Ro himself is pretty good, j/k:D

I believe that the best worship leader is the Holy Spirit, for without Him in the service and Christ glorified, we only worship with the mere lips and words of mortal men.

I agree with the guy who said the Holy Spirit is the BEST Worship Leader! Without him, we would all be a bunch of clanging symbols.

However, Chris Tomlin isn't far behind. He's a wonderful songwriter, great guitarist, and a passionate worshiper.

And as a side note (incase you ever read this Chris), I've been encouraging my entire band to pray that he'll ask me to marry him one day :-)

By my definition, a true worship leader is sensitive to the Spirit of the Lord, and will lead people into the presence of God. That person is a instrument, not the worship leader, but the lead worshiper.

By far, the one who I never get tired of, never wish that they would end their song, and have been to 3 concerts and worship leader seminar under conducted by this lead worshiper would be Dennis Jernigan. I sat under a worship leader seminar and his godliness and sensitivity (also complete honesty) was amazing.

If you are hurting, dry, or just long for the Father, listen to his music for it will encourage you.
(As a note: He is the author of "All in All" "Nobody Fills My Heart Like Jesus" "When the Night is Falling" "This is My Destiny" "We Will Worship the Lamb of GLory")

I think that you can never have the best worship leader becasue worship isnt about just music worship is the way you live your life everyday! I think the best leader for the music part is Lincoln Brewster! He could make falling down with a guitar sound better then me playing one regularly! He makes me think about how God has blessed him with musical talent and how he has blessed me with the same! When I listen to him play it gets me closer to God and makes me realize his power!

They're all good, but I like the way that Skillet and Third Day remember that it's not just about making cool songs! ( not that they all don't ) So I went with Skillet! I think Sonicflood deserves to be on the list too though!;)

Hey guys what's up Devin here.. What's with this thread? why are we comparing God's people and the amount that God works in them? i'm a worship leader myself and if someone were to say that guy was better than me when i'm pouring out my heart the same amount has him..You can say you like someone elses sound better that's cool with me, but comparing the annointing of a band that has the same spirit as the other, i find it very humanistic of us to compare awesome people that God has given us because placing one on top of another to me is not cool at all, what i think we should compare is the sound of the band and stuff like that but the way God moves through them to compare that is just sick in my sight sorry if i offended anyone but i'm just giving my own personal opinion.Love you all and God bless

yeah another david crowder fan!!! i'm actually listening to him right now as we speak! great stuff.
devin-
i just like to compare the styles and stuff to see whose better. not who's a better worshiper or whatever. i like david crowder the best because of his dave matthews-ish style and how unique his voice is. the sonicflood comment i suppose could have went without. i'm sorry. that's just my opinion. there are just some worship leaders i prefer better than others.

Has anyone ever heard ATS (All Together Separate) lead worship??? It's amazing. The lead singer (Dex) is sooo passionate and doesn't just sing well, he really knows how to lead the people into worship. The music is just so amazing too...cuz the band is sooo talented. THey have a very unique style...a blend of funk, rock, jazz, and all sorts of stuff....it's awesome.

I voted on this poll a while back for Chris Tomlin though..:p

Some of my favorite worship leaders are the ones not many people have heard of... like Jami Smith and Joel Engle. Ive had them both for conferences and camps.... they are very good.

True worship is not just in song but in every moment of your life. In John 4:23-24 we see God seeks those who worship Him in spirit and in truth. And through Romans 12 we see that is describing a life given totally to God, using every gift you have to give Him glory through your every action. And then in boldly proclaiming His truth in your words.

And ask anyone who has been a worship leader for a good long while and they will be quick to tell you that you can't compare worship leaders and say who is better than who. We are all of the same Spirit and the only way we have the ability to worship at all comes from Him. And as for the presence of God being with the person, that can change from service to service according to the leader's heart as well as the hearts of everyone worshiping.

I've seen the most technically awesome worship service put on by people who were very godly and had true hearts for the Lord, yet the people weren't moved. And on the other hand I've seen the Spirit move through a small group of people with just an acoustic guitar so heavy many were brought to their knees in tears.

The only way you would be able to compare is how much God moves through them, but whether or not that happens and how much all depends on the need in peoples hearts at the time of worship. No one can earn a set certain amount of God's annointing as we are all unworthy of it, so it will always change, and there is no comparison in so-called "quality" of worship. So I guess I'd have to say the best worship leader would be the one with the most true heart, and sets themself in a place of total humility and truth, giving absolutely all glory to God in everything they do.

That is true... what would worship be without the Holy Spirit? Think of all the times during worship that you feel that strange tingling through your body... who do you think that is? When you are worshiping with the presence of the spirit- nothing can interfere with that!

I think we should all remember that responsibility for worshipping rests with us all, not with the worship leader. God is worthy of your worship all the time in everything you do, not just in singing with a church group, and not just when you think you've got some kind of emotional connection.

If you feel that one leader can bring you closer to God, maybe you should consider why you can't get that close at other times. If a person you don't like much is worship leading it shouldn't really matter because God is still the same, and he is the one you are there to honour. If worshipping happens to make you feel good that is fine, but it is not an essential part of the process.

'I agree with the guy who said the Holy Spirit is the BEST Worship Leader! Without him, we would all be a bunch of clanging symbols.

However, Chris Tomlin isn't far behind. He's a wonderful songwriter, great guitarist, and a passionate worshiper.'

I don't know who Chris Tomlin is, and I don't mean any offense to him, but how can you compare him (or anyone else) to the Holy Spirit? If he "isn't far behind" the Holy Spirit he must be just about the most holy person on the planet, even assuming it is possible for a human to be "not far behind".

I think that the best leader worship leader is the best servant.

the one most willing to cast away her pride.

to come broken at His feet, offering up all of herself with the full knowledge of his heartbreakingly beautiful grace

saying, "here I am, just aksing for the privelege to be used by you"

for then is the time when the Holy Spirit will come and lift the name of Jesus Christ high above any of her talents, words..anything and everything.

gloria! may all honor and glory be given to him!

I think Waterdeep has a very powerful gifting. Eventhough their #7 out of the 10 given. I also really dig the Third Day Worship CD, but Waterdeep can do that thing with God and his Spirit even on CD...You know that thing..

I saw Steve Fee lead worship on the Passion tour and he was amazing. There was just something special about him. Louie Giglio spoke and then right after that Steve came up and passionately sang "I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive". He sang that a few times then he went to "You alone are Father..." It was so awesome to see him up there playing with his eyes closed and giving everything to God. In my opinion, he was better than Chris Tomlin only because of the "passion" really stuck out in him that I saw....

I voted on Passion, they are incredible! But I think Darrel Evans, Waterdeep, and all the rest are really great! I think the best worship album I own would be "Enter the Worship Circle". It is done by 100 Potraits and Waterdeep! It is very very good and I have used a lot of their songs in worship!

The Passion band has the most Praise and Worship talent as far as the band goes... but Martin Smith is probably the best single person to lead a crowd into worship.

Far From Home is what their name stands for but I don't know why they are really on that list. I suppose the "City on a hill" cd had some effect on making them a "worship band" but they are mainly just an acoustic-caedmon's call-like band.

all this is a matter of opinion and like they say opinions are like elbows.............everybody has a couple

for P&W i like listenin to Lindell Cooly, Darrell evans, Paul Baloche and a few more

truth be told the absolute best praise & worship leader is some unknown fella leadin worship somewhere of the beaten path and is totally sold out to God and receives no glory or recognition for himdelf at all and is singin songs that turn God on and not the people

after all is praise & worship about makin us feel good or makin God feel good?????
