I have a friend, actually several, who I want to witness to. My question is, how can I tell them what they need to know in a way that relates to them? I've sent one of my friends an email telling them my own conversion to Christ, and I asked him to come to church. But he's never mentioned it. I don't want to scare any of my friends off, so what can I say? I'm much better at writing words than saying them, so you can see my dilemma. Anybody have any advice for a confused soul? Please help me with what I can say.
Thanx!
Laura
I would need to know more about the specific situation. What are the people like, etc. etc. I might suggest asking your pastor.

Witnessing, a lot of times, is just about what you do. If you really feel the peace and joy and love of Christ, other people will be able to see that, and will wonder what it is that makes you different. So sometimes, the best way to witness is just through your life.
The other important thing is to be willing to mention your faith whenever it comes up. if the conversation gives you an opportunity to turn the topic towards faith or to mention your own beliefs, take that opportunity.
Witnessing isn't necessarily about going and telling people the gospel directly, although that can also be effective... often the direct approach will put people off. Other times the direct approach is exactly what they need to hear. So it's a difficult decision of how to approach witnessing, which is why the best way by far is through prayer. Pray for those people, pray that God will give you the right words to say to them at the right times.
Also, some people might dislike you for being a professing Christian, but far more will respect you for the strength of your convictions even if they disagree with you.
A group of friends and I have just recently put up a website for a couple things (we're going to redesign it soon though, before we add too much more) and I put up a message on that a couple days ago, see here:

Read "Becoming A Contagious Christian" by Bill Hybels.
It'll help you understand how to witness to people. I promise it'll help, a LOT:).
