Hi,
Anyone interested in discussing Wes' equipment? I recent got a guitar made by Langejans that's basically same as Wes'. I love playing his music. Wish I could write like him..........:)

Wow,
You got a Langejans guitar? That's awesome! I went to college down the road from his store in Holland, MI (Hope College) and I hung out in his shop a lot. I never placed myself on the waiting list to get a guitar made for me, though, because at that time it was at least 4 years long......:) Del did, however, find the time to do a few things to my Taylor (which I picked up at his store) while I was there.
Other than that, I was at the Christian Guitarists Conference in Castro Valley this past winter......seeing that you're from San Jose, you may have been there too????
I play through a similar rig, sans Jam-Man. SansAmp Acoustic DI lends a very nice character to the tone of the acoustic guitar, and I've been very happy with mine for the 4 years I've had it now....

I waited 1 whole year for my guitar to come. It was excruciating, but at the end, it was worth it. Price is alot, but I think it's worth it and I made a deal w/ my wife. Basically, I can't get anything for rest of my life now :) I also went to the christian guitar conference past winter when Phil and Wes was there. I got to talk to Wes about his equipment and also his hijacked website. I bought a domain wesking.org and am going to host an unofficial site.
I couldn't get my hands on a jam man, but I use this machine called "boomerang". Same concept, w/ little worse quality than jamman. But it'll do for now. It's really fun doing your own percussions and looping them. I also have a little digitech machine to do my delay, reverb and so on.

I wasn't aware that Boomerang had less "quality," as you put it......I was aware, however, that they're kinda pricey (for me, anyway, at roughly $600.....), so I won't be getting one anytime soon. I'm working on a deal with my wife that might allow me to sometime soon pick up an electric guitar and an amp........

As you start stacking loops, the quality degradates, while on jamman, I don't think it does. Didn't jamman cost like $1000 or something? I got mine used for $250. You should look through the web and recycler for used boomerang. What electric are you looking for? I have 57 reissue fender strat. I was lucky to get it cheap long time ago. I'm so glad I didn't sell it. I don't have an amp though. Just a practice one. I usually hook it up through the soundboard at the church.

The new version of the Boomerang solves the loop decay deal, and adds alot of new stuff to the 'rang. I think you can update an existing boomerang to the "plus" status.
Don't forget the Line 6 Delay modeler for looping! The time is shorter than on the Jam dude or the boomerang, but it is a looper, and it still does other stuff. Also the Gibson/Oberheim Digital Echoplex Pro is the king of loopers, as far as features go. It is expensive, but only about $200 more than a used jamman.
With all these options, why do I still want a Jamman? I need the mate to my Vortex!

p.s. jasonechoi -Is your Wes King site not working yet?

Thanks for the update. I think I will get the upgrade. I haven't heard of "Gibson/Oberheim Digital Echoplex Pro", but I'll definitely look into it.
ps - the site is now up, but has really no info. I'm trying to gather info so I could post some good stuff!!
