I tried to do the lead of pantera - ****ing Hostile (yeah maybe I should try sth easier after playing for a month)
but I don't know how to do thze freaking fast parts
one is
d-12h14-14-14-14-14-14-14-14 they play all the 14s in like half a second. I tried tremolo picking but it didnt really work
maybe I do the tremolo picking wrong though (it just makes me like 20% faster)
and then this part:
----19-17----20-17----19-17----20-|-17----19-17----20--------------|--
-20-------20-------20-------20----|----20-------20----20-20bvvvvvv

how can you do that as fast as possible?

anjd last question:
is there any trick to play chords that consist off only to notes faster
for example:
A-6666
D-8888

First off I dont suggest learning Dime's Leads cause he has so since of melody. Sure he can play fast but that says nothing for his solo writing abilitys. I suggest checking out Hangnail's First album. The solos are super fast and the riffs are hard so if you are looking for something to push you to grow check it out. They have most of the tabs up for the album at (www.hangnailmusic.com) on top of being a better sorce of creative solos they also have a lot better lyrical messages the Pantera and songs like "Herecy". To increase speed get a pattern and play it over and over again.

Example:

Hangnail "Friendly Advice"
Solo Section 1 (play all x4)
Line A
E:---------------------------------------------------
B:--------5-6-5-6-5-----8-6-5----------5--------
G:--7-7---------------7----------7-5-7-----7-5--

Line B
E:---------------------------------------------------
B:-------5-6-5-6-5------8-6-5-------------------
G:-7-7----------------7----------7-5-7-----------

This is essential the same riff but at the end of the frist line (which I have lables line A) Nick Radovanovic adds the G:--7--5-- to connect the first and second lines or to connect line A to line B.
To learn the riff start playing it slowly and accuretly then gradualy speed up mantaining accuracy untell you can play the entire riff flawlessly. You will find that once you have learnd one riff others will come easier.

Hangnail - Friendly Advice
Intro Riff

D:---0-0-7-0-8-7-0-7-0-(10)-8-7-8-7-5-7-(x2)---0-0-7-0-8-7-0-7-0-

This is an extremly tricky riff to pull off because of the open notes and the ticky notes to get to like the 10, then on top of that is the finger tripping -8-7-8-7-5-7- part. But this like the other is only a matter of speeding up slowly will making sure that you maintain accuracy or else it will sound that noise.

After that you can work on other stuff. First though I suggest getting a guitar teacher and learning the blues even if you hate them cause it will add soul to your technique and give you the basics for mad solos. If you have any more questions e-mail me at walmusw@hotmail.com

I downloaded “…Hostile” and as fare as I can tell all he is doing is picking super fast. I know that Dimebag uses his picky finger a lot so I am assuming that he has his picky finger (finger 4) planted on the “20” and then he is using finger 1 for the “17”s and finger 3 for the “19”s and “20”s. On the 4 and 3 pick down and on the 1 pick up that way you slide down then go back up to go down again forming a circular pattern

Like this

e|-----19-17-----20-17-----19-17-----20--|
B|-20---------20---------20---------20-------|
4 3 1 4 3 1 4 3 1 4 3

|-17-----19-17-----20------------------|
|-----20---------20-----20-20bvvvvvv|
1 4 3 1 4 3 4 4

for the d-12h14-14-14-14-14-14-14-14
Dime is just tremolo picking the heck out of it.
Do download this from some where
Band: Dream Theater
Song: Flight of the Bumble Bee
The guitarist for the band is outstanding so much better then Dime. It just proves that yes it is tremolo picking just very very fast. I also suggest checking out Living Sacrifice if you like Pantera

Sorry but I don’t understand the question about the cords what do you want to know exactally? Give me an e-mail at walmusw@hotmail,com

Walker, you do know that "Flight of the Bumble Bee" is a classicial music piece don't you?

I think it's great that some band has actually recorded that as a song.

Yes I know it is a classical piece the guitarist for the band is just that good. You should down load the song and check it out then you should down load a song call "Entormania" then you should go buy all their albums and listen and know how tallentless you and the rest of the world is compared to them.

*laughs even harder*

I know how "talentless" I am compared to most of the guitarists out there. If I had more talent than them, I'd be out on the road right now. :-D

God Bless!

my goodness! Flight of the Bumblebee is so hard to play on the piano, I can't imagine playing it with a band! :-) there are some pretty talented people out there, either that or they like to torture their fingers!

I just managed to do the intro of friendly advice that was pretty challenging :-)

I guess after 1 month I'm not ready for that hardcore fast stuff in hostile.
Any other songs with cool solos?

actually you have the solo for the hangnail song wrong... i actually had record the song on my puter and slow it down with the sound recorder thing

on the D string its 0 0 7 7 8 7 5 7 0 10 8 7 8 7 5 7 and then its just repeats 0 0 7 7 8 7 5 7 till the singing starts i think

i have been playing this solo for months and cant even play it to the speed hangnail does... they ar good and they are even better live they came to my town!
