New Album!!

I have a friend on the inside (he knows john cooper) and he said that skillet is dropping a new album this summer/fall. Awesome!

I can't see Lava not releasing <em>one</em> new album by them. <em>Collide</em> was just a rerelease. Besides, the sales have done fairly well, haven't they? Does anyone know any specific numbers?

I really have a hard time seeing a major-label band going into the studio sometime this summer or possibly <em>fall</em>, and it still coming out this year. Perhaps January or February of '06?

My only interest in the new album is the direction they're going to take with their sound. All of their albums so far have had a noticeable distinction. With signing to Lava, will they try to keep their generic hard rock sound (a guilty pleasure of mine, haha)?

The band is a little hush-hush about it. I was told by inside sources that its like a mix of the old and new. And Its alread recorded. They are in the final mixdown process right now. It just has to be mastered and get some artwork and pressed. I hope it's alot like the older stuff like on hey you I love your soul and invincible.

I saw them in concert on May 28'th and Johns exact words were "we will give you all more details in about three months." So I guess we will figure out then.

Im going to be seeing skillet on june 16 (I believe) and if I get the chance to speak with them I will try to pry it out of them. Last time I saw them in live oak FL. I got to eat dinner with them and they said they were tinkering around with a few new songs.

So, this new album of theirs...what are your propectives on it? Do you think it wil be good? To me Skillet has alwayz been awesome. But I've heard many things about this upcoming album. So, since you have some REALLY close connections to Skillet, wondering if you would know. ~Skillet Freak/ Panhead

I personally hope their new Cd has the great rock sound of Collide, but since they seem to change their sound on every Cd, the only ones they can do now are rap-rock or worship.....No wait they've done worship and I can't see them doing rappish stuff. Hey, maybe it won't change, would still be totally awesome.

I haven't gotten a word out of them. They are obligated to the record company not to leak out the info on it right now. I hope the record is more akin to invincible. That was my favorite album next to Alien Youth. I like the industrial sound.

I would have to agree that I hope the new cd sounds more like Alien Youth and Invincible.

I heard their new song "Rebirthing" on Christian Rock.net, and it's pretty awesome. It's like Collide somewhat, Korey starts to sing. You can listen 2 a clip of it on their myspace.

man i checked in shops on tuesday but i couldnt find it. Thats the prob with Australia. I really want COMATOSE (not to mention Pillar's The Reckoning) but i cant get it! Its really annoying. I've heard Rebirthing and Whispers In The Dark and samples of The Last Night and Older I Get on Skillet's Myspace. They are great songs. I'm really looking forward to the album (when i can get it) i just want to know if its better than Collide and what it ranks compared to their other albums (i think there's 6 of them)
