Mine is the Alesis QS 8.1. This sucker is hot! Better yet, I actually own it. ;)
I take it you mean dream keyboard out of what actually exists??? My dream keyboard would be about 20 pounds, have analog and digital synthesis, onboard sequencer and sampler, great feeling 88-note keybed, and of course would have to be below $2000...........
Too bad that doesn't exist, right now I'm very happy with my Roland XV-88...... so that's my dream keyboard. I just wish it had a sequencer.... that would be really sweet! Oh well, can't win 'em all.

I've seen some sweet Korgs, but i like my Yamaha PSR-730 :)
Yah, Korgs are tight.
I like my church's Roland XP-60. It's a shorter version of the XP-80 but it's just the same sound wise, and it's got a sequencer. I used to get mad 'cause they wouldn't let me take it anywhere.

I have a Korg, and I definitely love it, but I would really like to mess around with some of the Rolands. There are some pretty sweet keyboards out there, I just never really have time to check them out. Our adult worship band @ church has a Triton, and I LOVE playing on it. You can get awesome sounds out of it.

Keyboard Freak, If there was a keyboard like that, I'd buy it in a heartbeat

Yahama S80 is a nice keyboard. If im not mistaken, this is the same one Michael W. Smith uses for his concerts when he uses keyboards.

IMHO that would be the Korg Triton. It's one of the most expensive, but the industry standard. Versatile, stylish, and can do more things than... I dunno. It can do anything.

Mine is a Rowland RD-700. I got it $400 dollars off the regular price. Its a new model and it's got a better feel than the XV88... and any others. Trust me, I've tried them all.

Hmmmmm, this reminds me of chess club at school. Except now they all play around with keyboards.
just face it guitars will always be better than keys. And if you people think im saying that because i cant play the keys i took learned how to play years ago but keyboard/piano is just too boring. i have to move around.

Or a Theremin (even though it's not really a keyboard)......

I have a Yahmaha KX88 and a Kurtwiel MicroPiano Sound Module.
Look man, If you think that guitars are so much greater than keyboards, do more, own them and all that stuff, tell me what the most popular solo guitar CD is: meaning there is NO other instruments(like voice or drums or whatever) and the guitar is all that u hear. Because I know that this
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000031PE.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg
has sold millions of copies.
All I'm saying is the piano can more easily stand by itself as a solo instrument and is capable of more music techniques.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Yngwie Malmstien and Steve Vai the top 2 ranked guitar players in the world both have mad solo guitar records. Might i ad they blow any keyboard solo album that ive heard out of the water. and i have just finished on my album its classical guitar only. well it has like sounds of the ocean and rain and thunder and stuff like that. so dont say guitarist cant do a solo album.
What about Stu Hamm?? I think his bass playing blows any solo guitarist OR pianist out of the water. Have you ever heard him do Moonlight Sonata?? It's incredible!!! :D

In the end, it all comes down to taste. I see (and hear) a big difference in a Steve Vai CD and a Keith Jarrett CD. Vai isn't doing whole solo guitar CDs, for those you have to look to players in classical and jazz genres. I know of very few solo guitar rock albums. Why? The only answer I can think of is that not very many people care about hearing 128th note sweep picking. Most people would rather hear a complete music thought than an unconscious stream of notes. Is one better than the other? No. Certian people will just prefer different kinds of music. I for one am glad we have so much to listen and learn from.
Guitar players-try and learn some piano and keyboard parts. Listen to what Satriani and Stanley Jordan do with tapping.
Keyboard players-learn to play like a guitar player. Those pitch and modulation wheels arn't for show! Listen to some CDs with Jan Hammer playing synths for insperation.

anything with 88 weighted keys, and a whole lot of different sounds...mostly paino and synth/strings sounds

I have two.
a Fender Rhodes suitcase model electric piano for all those seventies piano sounds
and
a Hammond C-3 all tube with a 147 Leslie Cab.
Except for the acoustic piano, those two practically invented the sound of Rock and I know and Love.

And nice ones they are! :D
One question though, why a C-3?? Why not the one that started it all?? (B-3)
BTW... welcome to the boards! :D

The B-3 and C-3 are the same except for the case. The C-3 has full case and not just the legs. They are also a little cheaper (sometimes).

I like the look of a C-3 over a B model. They are actually the same organs. C stands for Church Model. It's all wood instead of legs.
Plus I used to have one and it would be like the old days. :)

Ahh.... I never knew that. I knew they were very similar... but I thought it was something a little more than just the case. Coolness! :D

Our church has one of those
Not likely that they have the one pictured, Travis. It's a new version that just came out at winter NAMM. I don't even remember all the new features it supposedly has. :D

That is correct keyboardfreak. It made the regular Triton a fossil almost. It's got so much more stuff on it. If you wanna know more about it, go to www.korg.com .
There's also a new Triton Le. I'm not sure what this one does becuase I didn't read much about it, but I did read about the Triton Studio...DROOOOLLLL!!!!

I wouldn't go that far. The Studio version has a significantly heftier price tag on it. :D I really doubt it will affect original Triton sales too much.

The Triton LE is exactly the opposite of the Studio version. It has LESS features and a lower price tag.
Make sense?

Oh, and KeyboardFreak, have you seen the new prices on the classic Triton? The 88-key went from $4,100 to $2,699!! I got so excited because I've been wanting one forever and now I might get one. But, do I want the Studio, or not?

Heh heh heh..... that still leaves it priced well above any comparable keyboard. There's no way around it, Triton's are expensive! :D
P.S. Of course you want the Studio version!!! ;)
