These guys are so cool. I have never heard a girl in a band scream before, but I like it. Other than the fact that she screams, they remind me somewhat of Evanescence. What do you guys think of them?

Pretty good band! "Breathe Today" is a sweet song- and it is pretty cool when the girl screams. I think they are like Evanscence.

Awsome band. The girl has a pretty sweet scream and they have a style similar to Evanesence but not enough to be a rip off.

Yeah, they are pretty awesome. Their new single "I'm So Sick" is #1 on our local rock station. I guess they're kind of mainstream.

I love the fact that theres a christian chick screamer!!!! we've been needing one of those for a while, well, ever since Arch Enemy came out.

Anywho, yea they rock. I have one question tho, in the song "So I Thought", what is that one word in the chorus? what does it mean?

"Choris romance says goodnight..." I tried looking it up but i cant figure it out.

any thoughts would help my poor confuzzled little mind

One more I can think of is Ally from Bloodlined Calligraphy. She's the best girl screamer I've ever heard.

Also the vocalist of the band Still Breathing (R.I.P) is a female.

Flyleaf will be playing center stage on the Family Values Tour this year, along with Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour and (my personal favorites) Dir en grey.

Has anyone seen Flyleaf live before? How are they? I'm going to FVT to see Deg, but I kinda want to check out Flyleaf as well.

I saw them on their recent headlining tour with The Showdown. There are some bands that disappoint live after hearing a CD and there are some that are better live than on the CD. I honestly can't say they are either one because both the CD and the live performance are absolutely phenomenal. Lacey's scream AND singing are even more powerful in concert than on the CD if you ask me. They put on a VERY energetic show. When I saw the tour it was in a pretty rough and definitely non-Christian venue in town. Typical drunk, smoking and rowdy kind of place, but a rowdier than usual crowd. Both The Showdown and Flyleaf did awesome jobs. Neither compromised any of the "Christianity" in what they did with both of them not being shy about the meaning behind their songs. Lacey and Flyleaf even broke out some praise and worship towards the end of their set and I was just in awe. On the song "There For You" after the second chorus or so all the instruments hit and then faded out to just Sameer and his guitar playing a delayed riff and Lacey goes into "Hungry (Falling On My Knees)" and at the end of the chorus with just the guitar still the entire band smashes in to do the chorus and finish "There For You". It was absolutely beautiful. I could go on about the doors that even opened for us to talk to some half-intoxicated guys who for some reason befriended us that night. Just a masterfully planned evening by the only One who could've planned it. I'd recommend seeing Flyleaf AND the Showdown if you ever get a chance.

Hey internal,

First off, that song is amazing. One of the most remarkable on the disc.

Since you are obviously taken with this question, I'll share some insight. Right around the time flyleaf started making a name for themselves around dallas (under their former name) another band from their hometown of temple, tx started building a following - Choris Romance. From what I know, that band didn't last long, but I know the members of Choris Romance and Flyleaf were all well acquainted.

Shame they didn't last, they had a lot of potential from what little I heard.

Hope this helps.

If you ever get a chance to meet these guys, take it. They are some of the coolest people you'd meet. I saw them a while back and we ended up going to a local Steak and Shake and eating with them. Good people.

Yeah, it's definitely been cool seeing how big Flyleaf is getting.
I remember back in the day, I'd be at my old high school passing out Flyleaf samplers/stickers/pins to help promote them and look where they are at now, being promoted everywhere else.

As for female screamers/growlers, there is also Kittie. Haha. And Walls of Jericho.
