View Full Version : What songs have y'all been working on???
Well it's been a decent amount of time since this forum got started and we've had some pretty good discussion......... so what songs (contemporary, classical, hymns, whatever) have you all been learning this month (March or April)??? Either because they were recommended on this board, or because you just wanted to learn them, doesn't matter.
I've been learning DC Talk - Red Letters, Shaded Red - Use Me and When God Ran, Third Day - Thief (I learned this one quite some time ago, but I'm polishing it up), an arrangement of As The Deer, Mozart's Ronda Alla Turca (again, I already knew it, but polishing it up), Rich Mullins - My Deliverer. Many more I'm probably forgetting..... but those are the BIG ones.
How 'bout y'all????
Somebody's had to have learned something these past two months! ;) Anybody???

I've been working on one of the Nocturnes by Chopin.
And also some P&W music such as: The Day Is Dawning, You Are My God, and others.
And i've been making up some stuff too.
How bout you K?

I've been working on third day's Your love oh Lord, it sounds awesome with this organ sound I've got on my keyboard. I've also been kind of messin' around with "I Lift My Hands", but I can't quite find the sound I'm looking for. On piano, I'm about to start a Beethoven Sonata:eek: and I'm scared! Mainly I'm just having fun learning a lot of new stuff right now. I'd like to try some Chopin. ANd I STILL want to learn Moonlight Sonata. That's my goal for this year! Not really, but I would like to learn it. I play a really fun version of As the Deer that's all keyboard. It's a blast to play around with some of the songs we play in the band. Anyone know "Better is one day"? There's a really cool version in which it's all keyboard. Ever heard it?
in his love,
Ally

Hey Ally, i have the sheet music to Moonlight Sonata in a much easier key, it sounds good if you have a transpose feature on your keyboard, i'll e-mail it to you if you want it.
I also, once i got the chords, made my own version of As The Deer, that we play in youth group.

Sure, sounds great! I love As the Deer with the keyboard playing the main part-it sounds pretty sweet. But our youth band is very guitar driven, and poor me gets neglected sometimes :( (not really :)) I figure, hey, as long as we're worshiping God, and it sounds okay, it's all good.
