Comments about this tab

samone165 - 2004-03-10

This is generally good. The intro and the verse is right but the chords are messed up!

JBanana - 2004-03-22

The chords in the chorus is wrong but I've tabbed them more accurately for
anyone who wants it:

E: 022100
B: 099800
C#m: 044400
A: 002200

E, B, C#m, A

That's about it!

scheller - 2004-03-27

I'm pretty sure the actual Chorus chords are:
E (022100) Badd4/E (099800) F#m11 (x44200) Asus2 (x02200)

Jo Mo - 2004-05-07

I think that there is one slight correction that need to be done on the tab chart for the verse. switching the B on A-string to F# on the low E-string like this:

Verse:
e------------------
B---0---0---0--2---
G----1---1---1--2-1
D--2---2---2-------
A---------0--------
E-0---2-------2----
repeat ?x ^here for F#

Hope that helps for some.
I noticed the bridge was not added on this thread. I assumed somebody has done that on a another another.

Jo Mo - 2004-05-07

I forgot to add that the C#m that JBanana submitted for the chorus is incorrect. Scheller is more accurate in his post as it should be a F#m.

erej - 2004-05-13

I think that you can use this F#m it sounds really good, and you can use a Bsus/E
F#m Bsus/E
2 0
* (this is muted) 9
2 9
2 8
0 0
0 0

erej - 2004-05-13

I messed that up I meant it like this
F#m---Bsus/E--
-2------0-----
-*------9-----
-2------9-----
-2------8-----
-0------0-----
-0------0-----

Aurban - 2004-06-17

I found a way to play the chorus that isn't exactly like the actual song, but it sounds pretty close and doesn't clash if you play it over the song

E (022100)
B (XX4442)
F#m (XX4222)
Asus (002200)

That sounds fairly good. I'm not sure of the chord names exactly but the fingering for it is right.

sushibreto - 2004-06-29

I though the second chord was...

-
-
8
9
7
-

eh, but how should I know? It just sounds best to me.

KgAs85 - 2004-07-01

gentlemen, gentlemen...you are forgetting the most important part of each chord...the bass note. each chord in the chorus should be played like a barr chord except that the high 'e' and 'b' strings are left open.
E: 079900
B: 799800
A: 577600
F#: 244300

good luck!!

K939A - 2004-07-21

actually play this, it sounds more like the actual song without the added bass notes on the top string:

0--0--0--0
0--0--0--0
1--8--2--2
2--9--4--2
2--9--4--0
0--0--0--0
the reason i think this is because if you listen to Matts (or whoever it is) you can hear a slide from the E to the B

matt_pom - 2004-07-27

the chorus goes like this i think

|-------|
|-------|
|1-8-4-2|
|2-9-4-2|
|2-7-4--|
|-------|

AudioRKFFHfan - 2004-08-04

It's E, B, A, A2 for the chorus, then the verses you string an E, for the most part, you still add a few notes though, so, don't compleatly string the E, and I haven't figured out the bridge.

Miffy - 2004-08-08

It's an E played from the 7th fret which drops to a Emaj then to an A2 played open then B5 played on the second fret and dropping your low E string. All the chords have the e and B open and played!! It's very similar to "Open the eyes of my heart".

stevo_1515 - 2004-08-10

all of the other stuff confused me so i'm gonna put all the stuff right

the intro is right the verse part is just like the intro except e --------
B --2-----
G ----2-1-
D --------
A --------
E 2-------
for the 4th time through

the chorus is E e 0 then Emaj7 e 0 then F#m11 e 0 and Asus2 e 0
B 0 B 0 B 0 B 0
G 1 G 8 G 6 G 2
D 2 D 9 D 7 D 2
A 2 A 7 A 9 A 0
E 0 E 0 E x E
i'm positive this is right because i personaly asked matt himself
thats it except for the bridge which i might do later if you want other relient k songs just tab them send me an email and i'll correct them on account of i'm too lazy to tab them myself

stevo_1515 - 2004-08-10

oh yeah my email address is stevo_15_15@hotmail.com
you can ad me to you msn if you want

poorboyrichr03 - 2004-08-23

hey the c# is fine either way. i would use the c# in acoustic setting or in worship. thats just me but i like use that than the f#

Longfellow - 2004-08-30

The Intro Is way off it should be
2nd time at end
e-----------------------------------------------------] [-------

Timmy25cz - 2004-08-31

There is no B chord in the Chorus. It's an Emaj7 079800. The Chorus is E Emaj7 A/F# A2. Also I didnt see anyone write the Bridge chords out. They are C#m B A2 Esus

stevo_1515 - 2004-09-02

sorry the bridge is
e ----------------------------------
b ----5--------4--------2-------0---
g --------------------------------1-
d --6---6----4----4---2---2---2-----x3
a 4--------2--------0---------------
E --------------------------0-------
end on E

worshper4him - 2004-09-30

I just thought I would add that if you have a back-up acoustic for this song, you can play

E - F#m - A - B

on the verse. It sounded good on the experiments. Thnxs

Josh

blackguitarpick - 2004-10-04

Ok, i found (from a couple ppls suggestions on here) what sounds like the perfect chords...

E

blackguitarpick - 2004-10-04

Ug, sorry 'bout that....here ya go...it sounds real good to me...

E: 022100
B: 099800
C#m: 044400
A: 002200

stevo_1515 - 2004-10-15

relient k is comming out with a new album november 2. if you want to hear it go to www.purevolume.com/relientk

Retrnfrmfallen - 2004-12-27

the chorus is really weird cause theres not really the bass/root note in the third chord and a clash in the 2nd chord but after listening to it many times ive come to this im really sure its right, and the bridge is also here

e--0--0--0--0----------------------
b--0--0--0--0----------------------
g--1--8--2--2----------------------
d--2--9--4--2----------------------
a--2--7--4--0----------------------
E--0-------------------------------

e----------------------------------
b------5-------4-------2-------0---
g--------------------------------1-
d----6---6---4---4---2---2---2-----
a--4-------2-------0---------------
E--------------------------0-------

the second guitar is
e------------0--------------------------------------
b--9--11--13---9--11--13--13--9--11--13-------------
g--9--10--12---9--10--12--12--9--10--12-------------
d---------------------------------------------------
a---------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------

thanks for listening im pretty sure thats right this is a really hard song to get right anyone who went for it your awesome and thank you!

jg0440 - 2005-02-27

Okay people look, the chorus i believe really goes like this...

e ---0---x---x---0
B ---0---0---0---0
G ---1---4---2---2
D ---2---4---2---2
A ---2---2---4---0
E ---0---0---0---0

O yeah!

jamforchrist123 - 2005-03-14

Stevo's Chorus Is Correct. I Have The Book And It Is Perfect.

BlackMage - 2005-03-25

OK YOU GUYS I HAVE A QUESTION. HOW DO ANY OF YOU KNOW IF YOUR TABS ARE ALL EXACTLY RIGHT? ALL OF YOU ARE SAYING, "NO THIS ISNT RIGHT, IT GOES LIKE THIS, THIS ISNT HOW THEY PLAY THE SONG AT ALL BUT IT SOUNDS GOOD TO ME, ITS PRETTY DARN CLOSE, BUT OKAY!" DID YOU GUYS CALL UP THE BAND AND BE LIKE, "HEY, COULD YOU GIVE US A TAB FOR THIS SONG, CUZ THAT WOULD BE COOL."

THE TRUTH IS YOU PEOPLE DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW IF THESE TABS ARE EVEN 2% RIGHT. YOU'RE JUST DOING IT ALL BY EAR, PLAYING WHAT YOU HEAR AND SAYING ITS 95% RIGHT. how do you know?? OH WAIT, YOU DON'T KNOW!! YOU'RE ALL JUST GUESSING!! IT JUST MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL.

BlackMage - 2005-03-25

TO STEVO,

HOW THE CRAP CAN YOU PERSONALLY AKS MATT HIMSELF?? UNLESS YOU'VE MET THEM AT A CONCERT, OR YOU WORK AT THEIR RECORD LABEL OR ARE SOMEHOW RELATED TO HIM, YOU CAN'T DO THAT! OR DID YOU TRY "EMAILING" THEM AND YOU GOT AN EMAIL FROM MATT?? YOU THINK IT WAS FROM HIM AT LEAST, BUT IF YOU DID SUPPOSEDLY GET AN EMAIL, IT WASN'T FROM HIM. THEY HAVE PEOPLE THAT DO THAT, WRITE AN EMAIL THATS SUPPOSED TO BE FROM THE PERSON IN THE BAND, BUT ITS NOT. AND YOU'RE REALLY SAD IF YOU THINK IT WAS ACTUALLY FROM HIM. THEY'RE CALLED FORM LETTERS. MOST CELEBRITIES HAVE PEOPLE THAT WRITE THEM AND THEN SEND THEM TO FANS. ITS GREAT TO THINK THATS ITS REAL, BUT ITS A FAKE. AN IMITATION.

BlackMage - 2005-03-25

sk8n-52 - 2005-03-28

its good, but the last part of the intro it needs to be
e---
b---
g---
d---
a---
E-2-
and the 3rd and 4th chords are off

Metal_head_63 - 2005-04-07

Thankyou for the correction chords. i figured out the verses, but the tabs helped a bunch. thanx!

redfender - 2005-04-15

THIS IS USELESS GO TO ANOTHER TAB BECAUSE ALL OF YOU ARE GOING ON AND ON ABOUT THE DIFFERENT WAYS TO PLAY THE SAME CHORDS AND THE CHORUS GOES E, B, C#, A...PLAY THE CHORDS ANY WAY YOU WANT THEY SOUND THE SAME. GOOD LORD LOOK HOW LONG THIS COMMENT PAGE IS. IT ONLY CONFUSES SO DONT COMMENT ANYMORE PLEASE.

gracebap30 - 2005-05-01

Hey guys it sounds good on the chorus to drop the f# completely and it ends up being like this

E--B--A----E--B--A----E

thank you

sixstringes777 - 2005-07-02

Hey BLACKMAGE

Whats up with you. Does tearring people down make
you feel good or something. Christ commands us to lift
people up. It is a shame to think their are people
like you who say they are Christians but tear people
down so much, over nothing.

sixstringes777 - 2005-07-02

another thing, BLACKMAGE. Some celeberties do write back.
Especially christian artists. (USING YOUR OWN REASONING)
how do you know it's fake? Did you call up matt and ask him
of he rights back to people? Did you see the letter to
know it's not real. (SEE HOW STUPID IT SOUNDS)

guitarin4Jesus - 2005-07-22

can't we all just love each other?

airun - 2005-08-01

ok blackmage or whatever the crap your name is, please give it up. quit arguing. good Lord, you would argue with a fence post. tabs can be accurate the only problem is half the people on this site don't know how to tab and haven't been musicians very long. Everybody, please, unless you have a correction that's accurate or a legitimate comment, shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Don't put down i think this is right!!!!! If you're not sure don't put anything at all. If you can't tab correctly, don't!!! now everybody quit arguing over the song for crying out loud.
Thanks, aaron

jdill - 2005-09-17

Hey everyone, check out Retrnfrmfallen's version. It's right on with the cd. The best sounding one in my opinion.

RelientKks - 2005-11-10

It's a good song, but the chords are all wrong.

relient_k304 - 2005-11-17

the intro/verse are good, but something went wrong with the chorus.

cool_jake - 2005-12-03

hey
i'm just new to this site. And i think its very wrong of al you to be arguing over afew mistakes in a tab. think about it, what would Jesus do if he was in your place.

but anyways. i have been playing this song for a wile and here is my sujestion....

verse
E-0--0--x--0------------
B-0--0--0--0------------
G-1--2--2--4------------
D-2--4--2--4------------
A-2--4--0--2------------
E-0--x--x--x------------

chorus
E-0--0--0--0--------- -0- -0-
B-0--0--0--0--------- -0- -0-
G-1--8--2--2--------- or -4- instead of -8- both work
D-2--9--4--2--------- -4- -9-
A-2--7--4--0--------- -2- -7-
E-0--x--x--x--------- -x- -x-

bridge
E-0--0--0--0-----
B-5--0--0--0-----
G-6--4--2--1----- play that about 3 or 4 times then go to the cords for the
D-6--4--2--2----- verse......
A-4--2--0--2-----

ps: my e-mail is cool_jake15@hotmai.com add me to your msn if you want

cool_jake - 2005-12-03

oops guess i shoulda looked over before i put it up
i ment to put (for the chorus)

-0- -0-
or -0- instead of -0- but both work
-4- -8-
-4- -9-
-2- -7-
-x- -x-

haha, sorry 'bout the mistake....oh by the way stevo_1515 i think you did a great job on the intro

cool_jake - 2005-12-03

oh man it did it again!!!
i ment to put:
E-0-
B-0-
G-4-
D-4-
A-2-
E-x-
instead of
E-0-
B-0-
G-8-
D-9-
A-7-
E-x-
but both work...(i hope it works this time)

J.S.P - 2006-01-13

the itro is right but I think that the chorus is different I play it in bar chords so it sounds a little different.

it goes something like
E B

J.S.P - 2006-01-13

sorry its not B its A

TyBizzle - 2006-02-13

all i know is there is a better version of this song submitted by LeeboiY

neonboy - 2006-02-21

i agree with everyone that said the chorus is WRONG i think it goes like this:

E:079900
Emaj7:069800
F{something}:097600
A2:007900

E Emaj7

F{something} A2

that's how i think it goes but other then that it's right

God Bless

RockyIV - 2006-04-12

Wrong cords 4 chorus.
It should go E
B/D#
F#m7
A2
(repeat)

4of5Rocker - 2006-07-05

I'm not really sure what the names are but the chords go like this.

1st: 022100
2nd: 099800
3rd: 044200
4th: 002200

guitar_freak_82 - 2007-03-04

ok, this is the real chorus...

E---0---0---0---5---|
A---7---7---9---7---|
D---9---9---7---7---|
G---9---8---6---6---|
B---0---0---0---0---|
E---0---0---0---0---|

Chord 1 is played with index, ring, pinky, chord 2 is played index, ring, middle, chord 3 is played pinky, middle, index and chord 4 is played index, ring, pinky, middle.

and for the bridge,

E-9--------7--------5---------0------------|
A---7--------9--------7---------2----------|
D-------9--------9---------7---------2-----|
G-----9--------8--------6---------1--------|
B------------------------------------------|
E------------------------------------------|

Akureiryoshi - 2007-03-10

Hey everyone, there seems to be many variations in the second and third chords of the chorus. This is what I have found . . .

E G#m7 A A2
0 2 0 0
0 0 2 0
1 1 2 2
2 1 2 2
2 2 0 0
0 X 0 0

Hopefully this will help. I am almost positive the second chord is a G#m7.

tomtomguitarman - 2007-04-11

yea, stevo_1515 is definatly right, or at least way closer than everyone else. so scoll up and read his.... and if have any questions, e mail me at tomtomguitarman7@hotmail.com

ben008 - 2007-04-13

Guys ive known this song for years and when i play the chords with the CD this sounds exact....

E B F#m A
0 0 2 0
0 0 2 3
1 8 2 3
2 9 4 3
2 9 4 0
0 0 2 0

In that order for the chorus

WariorForChrist - 2007-05-14

Does anybody know the strumming patterns to this song?

lessons4life - 2007-05-28

for stevo and blackmage and everyone else that wants to make corrections, its cool to want to correct something, but most ppl are playing for themselves and god, and last time i checked, god doesnt really care if you play a c instead if a c#. just something to think about. i know because i had a little trouble on that with a few members of our band, and the pastor said that to put things in perspective. and i dont think reliant k cares either...
love and god bless!!

Frankie Machart - 2008-03-03

Frankie Machart - 2008-03-03

masf - 2011-09-06

e|0 0 0 0
B|0 0 0 0
G|1 8 4 2
D|2 9 4 2
A|2 7 4 0
E|0 0 0 0

and this is how i play the bridge
e|2 0 0 0
B|2 0 2 0
G|3 8 2 1
D|4 9 2 2
A|4 7 0 2
E|2 0 0 0

masf - 2011-09-06

to BlackMage,
it is possible to ask matt about songs. my brother has met him and had a conversation with him, and you dont know if he has someone write emails for him, youre just assuming that he does.
