Magnificent Obsession
Steven Curtis Chapman

He uses some odd chords in the song, so I will tab them out as (I think) he
plays them. There are some odd timings which I won't write down ('cause I
don't really know what they are) So you have to listen to the song. I will
just write the order in which the chords go. And also, to get the true sound
of the song, you must follow the chords as I have written them down, (meaning
although the C looks weird, it's right).

(Tuned down 1/2 step)

   E Emaj7 C#min Asus Bsus A2 B C D Use this E in chorus

Verse 1

C D C B

altE B C#min A2
altE B B C#min B A2
altE B C#min A2
C#min C#min C D

Verse 2

C D C B

Intro tab

This is my key for writing the tab
h=hammer on
h/=pulloff(I could'nt think of how else to write it)

That's the whole song that I know, the Bridge chords are probably the same
chords that we have used already, I just haven't bothered to figure out the
order. It will take some listeing and playing with the song to get it right
because of his chord timings, but I know this is right.

has anyone noticed that the begging is almost exactly the same as the begging to Steven's song Dive.

This song is much easier with a foote capo. I can give you the chords I play if you'd like. Just get into contact with me. It's still a great tab, and I love this song.

This is a great tab. It does sound like Steven uses an open C#min. which looks like X46650. That way you get the 6 String sound. It sounds Fine hte way you have it just if you are solo this sounds pretty cool. You can also use the Emaj7 as XX2444.
