"We're at the Top of the World" The Juliana Theory From "Emotion is Dead" Copyright 2000 "No, You Don't Own Them" Publishing Horendously tabbed by Ryan Leng (Hierarchyofsnakes@yahoo.com) This is a rather different way to play this song, so bear with it. There are several guitars. It's very cohesive whatever it is...like it's just one guitar playing. But that's bogus. Modern mixing and recording marvel no doubt. At any rate...this one is in drop d (dadgbe) Here I present to you the first two verse parts: We'll just call this one "guitar 1": e------------------------| B------------------------| G------------------------| D-3--3-3/5--5-5/7--7--10-| A-1--1-1/3--3-3/5--5--8--| D---------------------7--| and at the same time we have "guitar 2": e------------------------| B------------------------| G-7--7-7/9--9-9/10-10----| D-x--x-x-x--x-x-x--x--10-| A-8--8-8-8--8-8-8--8--8--| D---------------------7--| Alright, chorus is sorta like this (~'s are indicative of strumming): e---------------------| B-5~~~~6~~~~6~~~~3~~~~| G-5~~~~5~~~~7~~~~3~~~~| D-5~~~~3~~~~7~~~~3~~~~| A-3~~~~3~~~~5~~~~1~~~~| D-----(3)~~~----------| the second guitar is playing some octaves I think, but I'm too lazy to figure it out. Just think of what notes are in the F major scale and make em into octaves. It's too messy for me to hear now and it's late. Then the quieter bit, or the "bridge": guitar 1: e-----------------------------| B----3------5------6----------| G------3------5------7----5---| D--3------5------7------3---3-| A-1------3------5------0------| D-----------------------------| then guitar 2 comes in while 1 still plays above sequence: e-------------------------0---| B--1/3---3/5-----5/6----6--6--| G---------------------------5-| 2x's clean D-----------------------------| A-----------------------------| D-----------------------------| Bridge 2 lead plays this while rythmn guitar plays verse thingy #'s in parentheses () denote another guitar's presence (It's like Boston man!). Either that or I'm just hearing the harmonic in the distortion. Anyway...it's outta control! e-----------------------------| B-----------------(8/10-7-5-4)| G(3)(3)-(5)--(7)--------------| D(0)-0-0--2-2--3-3-5/7--5-3-2-| distorted A-1--1-1/3-3--5-5-------------| D-----------------------------| and the finishing lead e--------------------------------| B--------------------------------| G--3--3-3-2-------3--3-3-2-0-3/5-| D-----------5--3-----------------| A--------------------------------| D--------------------------------| Alright, that's it for now. To be true to my original word, this tab is for two guitars. However, I'm sure you've noticed at least three. So, during the part 2 of the bridge you could theoretically just play the "guitar 2" part of the verse progression and the lead as it is written while the bass chugs along. G-------------------------| D---------2---3-5/7-5-3-2-| A-1--1-1/3-3/5-5----------| D-------------------------| I'm no bassist, but that's what he's doing. It's the main thing on the verse and bridge. Okay, that's about it. There are three guitars for sure in this song and most-likely four, so sorry if it's confusing. It's not that hard to play though! Sorry, no lyrics (but who'd wanna sing this anyway? It's too stinkin' high! Everything on this cd is!) www.thejulianatheory.com Nice tune.
