KING OF HEARTS- randy stonehill

 A E D A D
All alone , drifting wild , like a ship
                       A E
thats lost out on the ocean.
 A E D A
Everyone's a homeless child,
              B / Bsus
And it's not hard to understand,
         G E
Why we need a fathers hand.

  A E D A
There's a rainbow somewhere , and you were born to be there
     A E D E
But you're just running in circles.
   F#M C#M Bm E A
'Till you reach out your hand to the King Of Hearts.

 A E D A D
Pockets full , of pain and fear, that's a load
                         A E
There's just no need to carry.
 A E D A
Let it go, and leave it here
                B Bsus
Now there's no price that's left to pay,
              G E
With one more mile or one more day.

( to chorus )

 D /
You can try to catch the wind.
                            G F#
But in the end you're only wasting precious time.
Life can really be so kind
Once you find the truth and follow , go on and follow , follow.

( repeat first verse / then chourus / fade )

the 2nd cord, 1st line 'alone' should be B, not E....also in the 2nd verse, 'pockets full', also B, not E.
I would really like tabs for Randy's 1st 'bootleg' album, (the one with him in long hair & patched jeans)ie. , "Norman's Kitchen", and from his 'Paradise Lost/Regained' album, "The Dealer".
THanks & God bless!

Unless you are a HIGH tenor - then this song is really HARD to sing.

It's such a good song, you want to do it anyway!

So what exactly are the choices for other keys. I hate using
a capo, so it is pretty much you move it down a step to G
or two steps to F - or you go to E.

The chords get a little trickier if you are not used to them.

Stonehill even sounded like HE was really stretching uncomfortably
to reach those high notes near the end of the song.
