Song: Acquiesce Artist: Stavesacre Album: Absolutes 1997 Spinning Audio Vortex Publishing (BMI)/Car Seven Tractor (BMI) Tabbed by: William Giacchi I saw this was one of the only songs off Absolutes that wasn't tabbed, so I thought I'd post it. Drop D Tuning Intro: E---------------- B---------------- G---------------- D-7-0-10-0-5-8-0- A-7-0-10-0-5-8-0- D-7-0-10-0-5-8-0- Main bass riff (repeated throughout song): G--10-10-10-10-9-9-9-9--9--9--9--9--12--12--12--12- D-0--0--0--0--0-0-0-0-10-10-10-10-10--10--10--10--- A-------------------------------------------------- D-------------------------------------------------- While the bass is playing in the intro, just let the low D power chord ring out. The transition into the verse is this: E----------------- B----------------- G----------------- D-8---8---10---10- A-8---8----8----8- D-8---8----8----8- In the verse, the bass is emphasized more than the rhythm guitar progression; the bass plays the main riff and the guitar plays this progression, letting each ring out with feedback: E------------ B------------ G------------ D-3--2--2--5- A-0--0--3--3- D-0--0--0--0- After a few repetitions, play the intro guitar riff x4; then play the verse progression a few more times. The pre-chorus is the intro guitar riff played x2. Here is the chorus: E------------------------------------------- B------------------------------------------- G------------------------------------------- D-7-7-7--0-0-0--10-10-10--0-0-0--1010101010- A-7-7-7--0-0-0--10-10-10--0-0-0--1010101010- D-7-7-7--0-0-0--10-10-10--0-0-0--1010101010- From here on, it's just the second verse, the intro guitar riff, the final chorus and end on the intro riff. That’s it. One of the best songs ever written, in music and lyrics (Thank you Mark, Jeff, Dirk, and Sam :-). Have fun and God bless.
