Submitted by: NashvilleDanThis is the way I learned it in 1973 at Young Life meetings. The first two chords may have the wrong names, but they sound so sweet in the progression. After the Dmaj7 I go to Bar chords up and down the neck rockin along with speed and volume changes; imitating the way it was in the movie. On the G#m and F#m you can substitute G#m7 and F#m7 since those are a little easier to bar chord and ease up on your concentration of playing and rock along with the prayer. Amaj7 006650 D 6/9 004430 Dmaj7 X00222 Amaj7 D 6/9 Day by day x2 Dmaj7 C#m Bmaj7 Oh, dear Lord, three things I pray: G#m C# To see Thee more clearly, To love Thee more dearly, F#m B E resolve to E7 if you like To follow Thee more nearly, day by day. Repeat at least 3 more times. varying speed, volume, and intensity. So play it like you feel it! It looks more complicated in print than it really is to play, but this depends heavily on your bar chord skills. After playing this song for 34 years, this is the first time I've tried to write down the chords and share it. Hopefully this is a good thing. ENJOY! More importantly, you can Pray & Praise as you Play & Sing.
