Artist: Thousand Foot Krutch
Song: Puppet
Album: Set It Off (The first album)
Tuning: Drop B (B, F#, B, E, G#, C#)

This is another awesome song by TFK. I love the way it switches from the intro
track (Get This Party Started) into the song. Puppet uses pretty heavy
distortion. It is not too complicated, but it uses some fast pull-offs and a
few things which makes it a little bit harder to play good. But with some
experience you should be able to handle this song pretty easily.

The intro/chorus riff is only played on one string at a time, as I tabbed. It
sounds a lot heavier thanks to the bass guitar, so itís easy to think that the
guitar plays chords.

This song only uses the Rhythm Guitar, believe it or not! lol

p = Pull off
x = Scratching or muting
/ = Slide up, slide from note to note or slide into
P.M. or ... = Palm Muting

Intro: (Played two times, same as chorus riff)
E |--------------------------------------------|
B |---------------77777-7--------------88888-8-|
F#|--------------------------------------------|
B |--3p2p03p2p03p0--------3p2p03p2p03p0--------|

E |-----------------------------------------------|

F#|-----------------------------------------------|
B |--3p2p03p2p03p0--------3p2p03p00h2h3p2h3p2h3/5-|

What I do is I take the high B string notes with my ring finger, mute the two
lower strings with other fingers and jam over the three lower strings. It is
probably better if you only play the high B string, but that is a little tip if
you want to make it easier.

Pre-Chorus

Chorus (Ends with some strange fade out)

Great song. I sometimes like to play the riffs one octave lower as a variation
and if you do that then it is centred on the chords of the 2nd and 3rd frets on
the low B string. That is just a variation tip though, it is not how it is
played. Hope you will enjoy this tab!
God Bless,
Daniel

Thanks. Try it out and tell me what you think. I'll be sending in some Flyleaf tabs and stuff like that soon. Don't know if you've heard them, but anyway, they are good. :)

Te eF Kay - 2006-08-14

okay ive tried it out(I went into drop B just to try it and it was worth it!)
and it is by far the best and it needs about a 4.90 so ill give it a 5(cause I love givin 5s!)so great job but I kinda struggle with that part in the intro\
chorus part with the |-3p2h3p2-|thing!

Te eF Kay - 2006-08-14

man I must be excited ive been using a lot of exclamation marks!hehe!(see?)

Dani_Boy - 2006-08-19

Hehe, thanks. Pretty exclamation marks ;)

Te eF Kay - 2006-08-28

I think the Intro/chorus goes like this:
B|-3p2p03p2p03p00-|
just an extra 0 at the end.

Te eF Kay - 2006-09-13

that strange fadeout uses delay...I think.

Dani_Boy - 2006-09-24

Yeah, you could be right about the strange fadeout.

Te eF Kay - 2006-09-25

Thanx!
I like being right!hehe!

3rd Bassman - 2006-12-16

Good Tab! Good Song too! I like to play the intro with power chords for the pull offs though, that you you can use your E string (usually the G) to hit the notes normally on the hi B string.

itd look like this

E |-----------------22222-2-----------------33333-3-------|
B |--3p2p03p2p03p0-----------3p2p03p2p03p0----------------|
F#|--3p2p03p2p03p0-----------3p2p03p2p03p0----------------|
B |--3p2p03p2p03p0-----------3p2p03p2p03p0----------------|

It still keeps the heavy tone, its easier to hit the other notes,
and it sounds more hardcore too! This is also a great song for
begginner metal guitarists cause if you practice it you can
get really good at pull offs which is a big part of shredding!
