Submitted by: otisrobArtist: Shawn McDonald Song: All I Need ©2004 Sparrow Records I was trying to find a good tab of this song and nothing seemed to match. One common part did however have something that sounded right to me. The G string transitions seem to accent the progression of this song as it goes G 12---11---9---11 But I think he uses it on the B string. B 8---7---5---7 Then I tried to figure it out on my own and I realized it sounded like a progression I made up but in a different key. By the way this is my first tab so sorry for any imperfections. e X---X---X---X B 8---7---5---7 G 7---7---7---7 D 5---5---5---5 A X---X---X---X E X---X---X---X That plays very well with the song. One thing I did was dropped the high e to a d. This allows you to bar out the 5th fret for strings d through A and the song sounds very good. You can also capo the third fret and it sounds pretty cool. Basically you are playing d 5---5---5---5 B 8---7---5---7 G 7---7---7---7 D 5---5---5---5 A 5---5---5---5 E 3---3---3---3 Add some clicks and mutes and it soundes really good. Be sure to mute the low E even though it is not on your bar or you will have a bass ring that does not sound very good. I am not sure how much of this, if any, Shawn McDonald plays but if you loop the first tab with the second or play them with two guitars with slightly different rhythms that you can listen for it sounds similar. Enjoy playing and post any errors you see.
