I know that this will be tab number six of this song. I'm just not entirely
pleased with the other tabs. They got mistakes and they don't include the
Lead Guitar, at least not everything. So I hope this tab won't be just
"another one in the pile of tabs", but that it will actually give something
more to the song and help you play the song better. Here we go.

This song uses two guitars, The Lead Guitar and the Rhythm Guitar. The Rhythm
Guitar uses cool distortion for most of the song, while Lead Guitar uses a
more clean kind of sound. Just listen and you'll hear what I mean.

/ = Slide up - Slide from note to note or slide into note
\ = Slide down - Slide from note to note or slide into note
h = Hammer on - Strike the fret with your fret hand without picking note
p = Pull off - Pull off from previous fret to indicated fret
b = Bend - Bend the string to the indicated pitch, use several fingers
~ = Vibrato - Slightly vibrate - bend - the string to get a vibrating tone
x = Scratching - muting a string with your fret hand to get a cool "dead"
sound, or as in this song, mute it so you don't hear the string at all.

Intro: Rhythm Guitar (Slides are optional, but they sound cool:) )
G|--/7-10-7-------9--------7----------9-10-|
D|------------/10-------/8---10---/10------|
A|-----------------------------------------| x2
D|-----------------------------------------|

Intro: Lead Guitar (Rhythm Guitar plays it's riff once first)
E|------10--|--8-------|
B|--10------|------10--| Listen when to play the different sections.
G|----------|----------|
D|----------|----------|

Verse 1: Rhythm Guitar (Same as intro)
G|--/7-10-7-------9--------7----------9-10-|
D|------------/10-------/8---10---/10------|
A|-----------------------------------------| x4
D|-----------------------------------------|

Verse 1: Lead Guitar (Listen to hear when to play the different sections)
E|--13-----|--10------10----10----10----10----10----10----10----10-----|
B|------13-|------10-----10----10----10----10----10----10----10----10--|
G|---------|-----------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------|-----------------------------------------------------------|
                 |Here you start doing a "fade in" with the B|10 notes.

Pre-Chorus 1: Rhythm Guitar (The heavy part, I love it!!!)
G|--77----------77---7---------------------7----7-----------|
D|--xx0---0-0---xx0--x-0-7--3--5-0---0-0---x-0--x-0-3--5--0-|
A|--550---0-0---550--5-0-7--3--5-0---0-0---5-0--5-0-3--5--0-|
D|----0---0-0-----0----0-7--3--5-0---0-0-----0----0-3--5--0-|

No Lead Guitar in the Pre-Choruses, only the rockin' Rhythm Guitar.

  Chorus: Rhythm Guitar
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--8-8---83-3---35-5-5-5-0-0--------8-8---83-3---310-10-10-10--x10--x7--|
A|--8-8---83-3---35-5-5-5-0-0--------8-8---83-3---310-10-10-10--x10--x7--|
D|--8-8---83-3---35-5-5-5-0-0-12012128-8---83-3---310-10-10-10--x10--x7--|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------7-|
D|--8-8---83-3---35-5-5-5-0-0--------8-8---83-3---310-10-10-10-7--3--5-0-|
A|--8-8---83-3---35-5-5-5-0-0--------8-8---83-3---310-10-10-10-7--3--5-0-|
D|--8-8---83-3---35-5-5-5-0-0-12012128-8---83-3---310-10-10-10-7--3--5-0-|
I'm not sure of the 1201212 parts, but something's there and it's played
really soft. The tones are "12 0 12 12" and not "1 2 0 1 2 1 2" by the way.

  Chorus: Lead Guitar
E|--13-15-13---13-13---15-13-13-15-13-15-15-13-|
B|---------------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------|

E|-----13-15-13-13---13-15---13-15---15-13-15--|
B|--15-----------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------|

E|--13-13------15---15---13-13-15-15--|
B|------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------|
D|------------------------------------|

E|--13-13-13--13-13------13-15-17--15p13--|
B|--------------------15------------------|
G|----------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------|

Post-Chorus: Lead Guitar (Stronger sound, sounds like it's got some tremolo)
E|--------------------------0-h1--------------|
B|------3-----3-----3-----3------3------------|
G|----2-----2-----2-----2---------------------|
D|--0-----------------------------------------|
A|--------3-----2-----1-----0-----------------|
D|--------------------------------------------|

Verse 2: Rhythm Guitar plays intro/verse riff four times. Nothing different.

Verse 2: Lead Guitar (Listen to hear when to play the different sections)
E|------|------17--|-----17--17--17--17--|
B|--10--|--15------|--15-----------------|
G|------|----------|---------------------|
D|------|----------|---------------------|

Now the last part is strange. If you listen carefully you hear 3 guitars at
the same time. You've got the Intro/Verse riff still going, you hear those
17 fretted notes of the Lead Guitar, some high-pitched noise, and then I guess
it's the Rhythm Guitar that plays this:
G|-------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------|
A|--55555555555555553h55555555~--|
D|-------------------------------|
Fade in to here-----|

So technically it wouldn't be possible to do 3 guitars with 2 guitars at a
concert, but they can do it on a studio recorded song like this one.

Pre-Chorus 2: Rhythm Guitar (Slightly different than the first pre-chorus)
G|------------7-----7---------------------77---7-----------|
D|--0---0-0---x-0--0x-0-7--3--5-0---0-0---xx0--x-0-3--5--0-|
A|--0---0-0---5-0--05-0-7--3--5-0---0-0---550--5-0-3--5--0-|
D|--0---0-0-----0--0--0-7--3--5-0---0-0-----0----0-3--5--0-|

The second chorus is the same as the first for both guitars, but Rhythm Guitar
only plays G|7 instead of the final chord.

Bridge: Lead Guitar (Same sound as the post-chorus) UNFINISHED
E|--------------------------------0-h1--------------------------0-h1--|
B|--3-------------------2-------2------3---3-----3-3---3~-----3-------|
G|--2-----------0-----0---0---0--------2-2-----2---2-2------0---------|
D|--0-----------------------------------------------------------------|
A|----------3-------2-------1-----0----------3------------------------|
D|--------------------------------------------------------------------|

  Here Trevor starts singing again
E|--------------0---------0-h1-------------0-----------0-h1--|
B|------3-----3---3------------3---3-----3-----3-3---3-------|
G|----2-------------0---0------2-2-----2---------------------|

Bridge: Rhythm Guitar (Last part, acts like a Lead Guitar)
E|-----------------------|
B|-----------------------| Starts at 2:13, first section is very weak.
G|--10b12b10---7~---9-10-| Listen for correct bending timing.

It sounds like the high-pitched noises in the end could be guitar related,
but anyway, I didn't tab it. It hardly sounded like anything you could tab.

Another guy who tabbed this song said this:
"Everyone is making this such a long and drawn out and down right difficult
song when the reality is... IT'S SIMPLE!!!!"
Well yeah, the Rhythm Guitar might be simple, but tabbing both guitars took
more than 8 hours for me to do! (I've lost count) I wanted to get everything
as near perfect as it could be, and with the Lead Guitar and the Bridge it was
sometimes awfully hard to hear exactly what was played. This tab was loads of
work so I would be thankful for some response and some feedback. In other
words, please comment this tab!!! Tell me what you think and tell me if you
find mistakes. Hope you can learn something from this tab. TFK ROCKS!!!
God Bless,
Daniel

WOW! this is awesome can't wait to try this out!

SHARK - 2006-04-12

Awsome!Keep at it!There is one correction though.
Instead of on the last chorus doing this -8b-
-8b-
-8b-
Ilike to do this -8b\3-
-8b\3-
-8b\3-
do u think its possible ull do hand grenade?

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-13

Haha, yeah SHARK, of course I'll try! But I don't know if I'm fast enough really lol. I think I could figure it out but not be able to play it until I've practised a couple more years...

Honestly, I'll try. But I wont do it yet. I'm gonna finish tabbing the Phenomenon album first. Only got three songs left now, I've sent in This Is A Call and Ordinary (Both including Lead Guitar) but they haven't appeared yet. I already know how to play most of the Rhythm Guitar, but it'll be a huge challenge to tab the solo stuff on Hand Grenade. Well, I won't stop tabbing TFK until I've tabbed all the songs. Such a shame I don't have Set It Off, I haven't even heard it.

So, SHARK, of course I'll try to do it. You'll just have to wait a while, that's all. :)

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-13

Oh, and your correction. Well I thought about tabbing that way and you can sure play it that way. When tabbing itt I just thought I heard the note being picked, not slided to. Maybe I'm right and maybe I'm wrong, it doesn't really matter. You can play it either way you want.

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-13

WHOOPS! I forgot to erase "UNFINISHED" by the brigde. It was for my own notation during the making of the tab. Sure it's finished. Though personally I thought it was the hardest part to hear exactly. Take care and God Bless!

SHARK - 2006-04-16

No pressure at all on hand grenade! Its just that youre AWESOME at tabing!I gave this and move a 5

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-17

Thanks SHARK! Means a lot for me to get some response about my tabs. If you want to see all my tabs you can just click on my name right above the tab. Right now it's ONLY Thousand Foot Krutch, but I'm gonna do some Blindside, Skillet, Pillar and things like that. If you want me to do any special song (besides Hand Granade) then just tell me.

Yeah, thanks, not all that many people seem to vote nowadays, so it's a little hard to know if people thinks it's good. I don't want to vote my own tabs you know. :) Big thanks to you and ice_wiz for telling my what you think.

SHARK - 2006-04-17

its easy enough to rate it no sweat!
you might have a little trouble with tabbin the chorus on rawkfist when youre tabbing phenomenon though!I do anyway!

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-18

I've tabbed the chorus to Rawkfist. I've got a Rawkfist tab on this site. But I just kinda misunderstood you there. Did you mean it would be hard to tab the chorus, or did you mean that I tabbed it wrong? Just wondering. If you haven't seen my Rawkfist tab, then just click on my name above this tab. It says "This tab was submitted by Dani_Boy" something like that. Then you'll get a list of all my tabs.

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-19

Could I get some comments on any mistakes from the guy who gave me a 4? I'm not crying over a 4 at all, I just want to fix all the mistakes I can find. Let me guess, you found some mistakes in the bridge maybe? I thought that part was really hard to tab, and if someone finds anything wrong then PLEASE tell me. Thanks!

SHARK - 2006-04-19

I had no idea u tabbed rawkfist!
what I meant was no one else seemed to get it right.
all im saying is that it looked difficult to tab.

SHARK - 2006-04-19

How r u supposed to palm mute:
-0-
-0-
-0-

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-20

There is no palm muting in this song. If you told me which part your thinking of it would help. If you mean the pre-chorus the Rhythm Guitar just plays the chord straight and then mutes it afterwards. In other words, it's just a "short" chord.

SHARK - 2006-04-20

yea it isnt in this song but it is in others such as ordinary.

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-21

Palm muting is placing the palm of your right hand at the end of the strings to dampen the sound and get it to sound like only palm muting can make it sound. In ordinary, you have to palm mute open strings. But that's no problem, because all you do is place your right hand palm against the end of the strings and you can palm mute open strings as well as fretted strings. Palm muting only depends on the right hand, it has nothing to do with if a note is fretted or not.

ice_wiz - 2006-04-22

I gave it a four because I'm not so sure 'bout those 12's in the chorus.
And the riff right after that with the ten, mutes, and the sevens doesn't quite sound right.

SHARK - 2006-04-22

I can hear something were those 12s are but I cant hear it well enough to decide if its right or wrong.

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-23

The 12s in the chorus are wrong, sorry about that. I've found a better way that's much easier and sounds better:

G|--7-77--|
D|--x0xx--|
A|--5055--|
D|---0----|

I can't believe I didn't think of that earlier. Tell me what you think.

The parts with the mutes I believe is right. Mind that it is mutes, not scratching. Scratching sounds terrible there. I just wanted to show that you mute off the notes right before the chords. To mute it off in the best soundless way, quickly mute it with your right hand palm at the place of the first mike from the end of the strings. (Hope I'm not confusing you lol :) )

Other than that, I'd be glad if someone checked the bridge for me. It was the hardest part to hear. Everything else seems correct to me.

ice_wiz - 2006-04-23

G|--7-77--|
D|--x0xx--|
A|--5055--|
D|---0----| That does sound a whole lot better. As for the riff after I might just be playing wrong I'll hafta practice.

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-23

Just listen to the song and try to copy it, don't get your ming too focused on the mutings. 7 and 10 are the right chords though, just go with them and you'll be fine.

By the way, I just got the Set It Off Album, so now I can start tabbing them too! Lovely!

ice_wiz - 2006-04-23

Here we go again...

SHARK - 2006-04-24

thats awesome Dani Boy! could you please rate my tab of unbelieveable(no one else has bothered)!

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-24

Sure, SHARK! I'd like to see your tab, I didn't know you'd tabbed any songs. This will be fun... :)

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-24

Oh, I really love this new... Um, sorry, old style of TFK. Hehe. TFK is so awesome, man!!!!!!!!!!! I love all their variety and different styles!

akaukal - 2006-04-30

perfect!!!and you didn't leave out the itty bitty guitar part!

Dani_Boy - 2006-04-30

Thanks akaukal, you did see my correction for the chorus, did you? Because those twelves sound awfully wrong. lol Except for that I do think it is really good. It took me some time you know... :)

akaukal - 2006-05-02

yeah i saw the corrections and they work perfectly.

Dani_Boy - 2006-05-02

Good :)

zero91 - 2006-05-05

this looks good. i havent gotten a chance to try it yet but i like they way you have it labled and spaced out it makes it easy to understand and read. And dani_boy could you please tab that guitar part thats between song 11 and 12 on the pillar cd "where do we go from here"? That would be great!thanks

Dani_Boy - 2006-05-05

Wow, thanks for commenting, zero91!!! I've had three guys commenting for me, but otherwise I haven't gotten too much response. I'd love to tab that part your talking about. Only problem is I've only got Bring Me Down and Frontline from Pillar. So I've never even heard the part. I'll tab it if I get the song, I'll promise you that, but I can't do so very much right now.

SHARK - 2006-05-05

I thought it was only Dani_Boy ice_wiz and akaulak who were using this part of the site lately its been a bit lonely.

SHARK - 2006-05-05

sorry thats akaukal!

Dani_Boy - 2006-05-06

akaulak, haha lol

Yeah, I agree. It would be fun with some more people.

zero91 - 2006-05-06

sounds good, i'm not in a hurry.whenever you get a chance. thanks!

Dani_Boy - 2006-05-06

Zero, I've got Where Do We Go From Here now, and I've listened to that guitar part you're talking about. It seems easy to play, but hard to tab. It seems to use simple stuff, but most of it's played faster than the normal tab timeline can handle. So I'll either have to tab it in half the speed so that I can separate the fast part from the less fast stuff, or I'll have to come up with a way to mark it.

Anyway, I'll tab it into a tab of One Thing. You'll might have to wait for that a while. Or you could give me your e-mail and I could tab the guitar part in a word document for ya. I just don't want to submit a tab with only that part, I'd rather combine it with the song.

zero91 - 2006-05-06

thats fine if you want to post it w/ another tab. i can wait. or could you just post the chords here if you wanted to and i can figure out how many times and what speed to play it at.it doesent matter that much to me. thanks.

Dani_Boy - 2006-05-07

Yeah, I'll post it with One Thing. There are 3 tabs for this riff in between One Thing and Aftershock, but not a single one for the song One Thing. So I'll give you the whole thing a little later. It is a sweet rocking riff.

zero91 - 2006-05-07

ok.i'm glad your going to tab the whole thing i thought that "one thing" was the song "one thing" not the little riff after it.

Dani_Boy - 2006-05-08

Hehe, I'll try to do everything. The riff seems pretty easy to figure out. I almost know how to play it, I just need to change tuning.

akaukal - 2006-05-12

ok i found a correction! when you play this chord in the pre-chorus
e----
b----
g-7--
D-x--
A-5--
D----
they use a bend on it. not a big one but a little one. It's just about half bend. I'm 100% sure of this.

Te eF Kay - 2006-05-13

WOW its not every day you can find a correction on this tab!hehehe.

Dani_Boy - 2006-05-13

Haha, very funny Te eF Kay! ;)

Akaukal, you are totally right about the bends! Huge thanks, it adds a lot of flavor to the bridge! For once I agree on your correction! lol We just don't seem to agree on New Design, I climb or Faith Love And Hapiness. I'm still very convinced that I am right though... :P

akaukal - 2006-05-13

haha. very funny =P

element1 - 2006-06-11

ok Dani_Boy bro, i admit you did include the lead guitar which is really nice but... on a correction for my version of the song you said it was off, well if you know anything about notes and playing the guitar, i'm playing EXACTLY the same thing as you on the intro, you're just playin a more difficult version, if anyone wants the same but alot easier way to play the 2nd guitar parts just look at my tab, with this one, during the prechorus and chorus you're all over the neck, when with mine you're in basically the same area and still playing the exact same chords

element1 - 2006-06-11

o and btw it was I that said it's SIMPLE!!!! and it is! you took 8 HOURS on the lead guitar parts ouch dude, honestly if you know anything about harmonics and note patterns this song is easy, 3 1/2 maybe 4 hours tops, i know i didn't tab it out so i give ya props for that, but just to let you know the only reason i didn't is because in my band i play rhythm guitar so it really doesn't concern me so yeah PeAcE oUt everybody!!!
Charlie

element1 - 2006-06-11

oh yeah and just to let ya'll know my lead singer knows the lead guitarist from TFK personally!

Well, element1, I perfectly know you can play the intro that you have in your tab. It's good. I just tabbed it my way so that I could add the optional slides, also I think it's much easier to play it my way since it's all in the same region of the neck. But you're so right, your intro is the same as mine. I never said that your intro was wrong by the way, so please don't talk to me as if I was a 3 year old playing guitar.

Did you read my correction for the Chorus? Skip all the 12 fretted notes, they are WRONG. You play octaves like in the Pre-Choruses. Other than that mistake, I'm not all over the neck. Your tab is not detailed at all in the Pre-Chorus or the Chorus, and the hammer on chord is wrong. I'm NOT picking on your tab. I'm just saying that it misses out a lot. The quick jump from the 3rd fret chord to the 10th fret chord is not hard to play. And yes, they do play those quick chords before the chord changes.

I agree that 8 hours is a long time, but the reason was that I wanted to get every note right on both guitars, plus the sound was sometimes so faint that it was very hard to hear. What took the longest time was to re-listen to every little part over and over again until I got it right. Then I re-listened to bunches of parts again later. You didn't seem to notice in your tab that the two Pre-Choruses are different. The final chorus has a different strumming. Also the bridge has a lot of variations. By the way, it took me 8 hours for the whole song, not only the Lead Guitar. The bridge was actually the hardest part because of all the variations. I play mostly Rhythm Guitar as well, but I love Lead stuff too and I felt tired of all the incomplete versions.

I must say your bridge section was like perfect as the Post-Chorus to the first chorus, but they variate it a lot in the actual bridge. Great job!!!

You sounded like you were upset about my comments on your tab. I'm just saying it has some mistakes, a bit out of rhythm and kinda undetailed. I think I gave yours a 3, but you seem to have given me 1 or 2, something like that. I'm not trying to be grumpy or argue at you, I prefer cooperation. If it was that bad I would like to have some more input on why it was that bad. Thanks

Really cool that your Lead Singer knows the Lead Guitarist for TFK personally! I'm jealous... =P Tell him he's got a fan in Sweden :D

Yeah, Element1, I was just looking at your tab and some of the parts do seem off

ice_wiz - 2006-06-13

Element1, chill out, Dani said nothing wrong with your tab and there was no reason to give this tab a 1 or 2, he just said your tab was incomplete.

What's with the TFK tabs anyway, there's always so much drama?

Te eF Kay - 2006-06-23

yeah like on one of the phenomenon tabs lets try not to start another one up!

Dani_Boy - 2006-06-25

yeah, please not one of those discussions on one of my tabs, I'd feel terrible. Don't go too hard on element1 though. :)

Te eF Kay - 2006-07-12

Te eF Kay - 2006-07-12

oops that didnt come out right!

Dani_Boy - 2006-07-16

Which two places? Write it out again, but don't use spaces. Everytime you have two or more spaces in a row the site thinks it's a spelling mistake and "corrects" it for you, so use periods instead of spaces.

G|--------------|
D|--------------|
A|--------------|
D|--------------|
.......|...|....

See what I mean?

Te eF Kay - 2006-07-19

|-8-8---83-3---35-5-5-5-0-0-|
