Submitted by: G(CA)All the other versions of the song on this site are in standard tuning but the actual song is in drop-C tuning, a lot of Chevelle's stuff is. Drop-C tuning is simply tuning your guitar down a whole step (two frets) and then tuning the low-E string down another whole step (four frets down from standard tuning). high-e B G D A Low-E Tuned down to: D A F C G C Intro: C# E C# A Verse (palm-muted): C# E C# A Chorus: C# E Bm post-Chorus (seeing red again...): F# A F# D To play the chords all you do is strum the top three strings (E-A-D or C-G-C), like power chords, and bar all three strings in the same fret. Like this: C#: D[-x- A[-x- F[-x- C[-1- G[-1- C[-1- E: D[-x- A[-x- F[-x- C[-4- G[-4- C[-4- A: D[-x- A[-x- F[-x- C[-9- G[-9- C[-9- Bm: D[-0- A[-5- F[-6- C[-6- G[-4- C[-x- F#: D[-x- A[-x- F[-x- C[-6- G[-6- C[-6- D: D[-x- A[-x- F[-x- C[-14- G[-14- C[-14- The D chord can also be played: D[-0- A[-9- F[-9- C[-9- G[-7- C[-x- However, the high strings make the chord sound weird so it's better to play it on the 14th fret.
