I finally figured out the way Joel Houston plays this song on the acoustic guitar..
it took me a while to figure out because of the horrible cameras.. but here it is, enjoy =D

B x24400
E xx2400
G#m 402400 (actually a E/G#)
F#sus 244400 (play during verse)
F# 244300 (play during chorus)

if you see the dvd, notice his hands never go down the 4th fret..
which kinda tells me that this is right.. haha

for the bridge with the bass solo, just play a C#m and E/G# when it's only
instruments.. strum lightly also.. joel strums hard because his acoustic is
turned down very low..

if this helps u, then God bless.. this song is mostly electric/acoustic anyways.. haha
but whatever, enjoy!

are you sure that G#m is correct?...sounds sorta off but ill take your word for it

jason_yu - 2005-12-14

yeaa.. im pretty sure its right... u cant really hear the acoustics anyways... just gotta hit thee bass note

oh yea for the solo.. i think he plays it like this.. E/C# x42400
E/G# 4x2400

ur just basically switching from the C# to the G#.. remember this is just for when the bass is soloing.. when u start singing, its different chords, enjoy!

the flow of the song...

e 0 0 0
b 12 11 7
g 11 11 0
d 9 9 0
a 0 0 0
E 0 0 0

These are the chord diagrams we use as my church:

B 799877
G#m 466444
F#sus 244422
E 022100
G#m9 464446
C#m x46654

btw, nice tab; just put like verse, chorus etc. and the chords underneath it

Robbi-
The open on the G and D with the F# on the B is musically wrong. If you look at the circle of fifths there are 5 sharps in the key of B. If you play them open you are actually playing out of the key of B...therefore it sounds like poop. Instead of playing the open G & D, try to play the F# on the D string and B on the G with the F# on the B. It will look like this...

X -X -X
12-11-7
11-11-4
9 -9 -4
X -X -X

Hope you all found it helpful. Look up the circle of fifths and learn music theory...it will make you a better musician.
X -X -X
