From the awesome new CD "Until My Heart Caves In"
This song rocks...here's the tab.
Drop-D tuning
Prequal:
e-----------------------------------------------
B------7-----7-7h87-7------------7-----7-7-7-7--
G-7-6-7-7-6-7-7------7-6-7--7-6-7-7-6-7-7-7-7-7-

A--0-0-9b--0-0-9b--0-0-9b--0-0-9b\-
D--0-0-----0-0-----0-0-----0-0-----
You can play the bend as a -9h10- hammer on if you want but I think
that it sounds more like the recording if you bend it just right.
Verse:
Right-hand plam muting the whole verse.
e--------------------- ---------------------
B--------------------- ---------------------
G----------------7777- X3, then ---------------------
D-5555-4444/9999-7777- -5555-4444-2222/7777-

D-5555-4444/9999------ -5555-4444-2222/7777-
There is also a second guitar that does A--5-4-5- once.
Chorus:
Listen to the CD to figure out the muting.
e--------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------
G--7--7---6--6---4--4---2--2----------------------- (repeat)

D-55555555-77777777----------55555555-22222222-77777-
Part 2
There is a solo but for now I'll just tab the rhythym part.
Sounds more like full chords...
e-22222222-33333333- -------------------
B-33333333-00000000- -------------------
G-22222222-00000000- X3, then -------------------

Then chorus
Then the intro pattern one more time. The song ends in an open D.
Enjoy :-)

Keith,
Nice job on this tab. Just a couple of little changes. Let me know what you think.
2 possible minor corrections otherwise sounds great to me
I think that the prequel sounds more like this on the
hammer on pull off part – another way to it from the
open D position as well
e---------------------------------------------------
B------7-----7-5h7po5-7-7------------7-----7-7-7-7--
G-7-6-7-7-6-7-7----------7-6-7--7-6-7-7-6-7-7-7-7-7-
D---------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------
Same as above – take your pick
e------2-----2-0h2po0-2-2------------2-----2-2-2-2--
b-3-2-3-3-2-3-3----------3-2-3--3-2-3-3-2-3-3-3-3-3-
G---------------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------
Instead D-C#-B-A on the stop chord part I think that
it may be D-D/C#-B-A
(D/C# is called D with C# in the bass I think, not really sure)
e--------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------
G--7--7---7--7---4--4---2--2----------------------- (repeat)
D--7--7---7--7---4--4---2--2---5555-4444-2222/7777-
A--5--5---4--4---2--2---0--0---5555-4444-2222/7777-
D--0--0------------------------5555-4444-2222/7777-

Correction to my correction...I put an extra B (2 on the E string / 7 on the B string) right after the hammer on - pull off
It should be like this
e--------------------------------------------------
B------7-----7-5h7po5-7-------------7-----7-7-7-7--
G-7-6-7-7-6-7-7---------7-6-7--7-6-7-7-6-7-7-7-7-7-
D--------------------------------------------------
A--------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------

undertone,
your correction to the prequel sounds good. There is a mistake in mine...I added that part in just as I was subbmitting the tab.
As for the chorus, playing a D/C# is fine...if you want to play the full chords. Most of the song is played with powerchords, and I don't know how you would play a D/C# power chord. I know a D/C# chord would look like this, though:
e-2-
B-3-
G-2-
D-0-
A-4-
E---
You were right in what you said about the C# on the bass too. The bassist almost always plays the bottom of a chord if 2 chords are given :-)
lumpycustard - 2005-12-09
A D/C# powerchord would look like more of a
D---
A-4-
D-7-
G-7-
B---
E---
So you just slide your index finger down one fret. no biggie.

Hallo. This song rocks! This is a well done tab. I should have checked to see if there had been a version of this song posted before I went to the work of tabbing it out! I was just about to submit like the exact same thing but then I saw yours. I would say though that the
e|----|
b|----|
g|-7--|
d|-7--|
a|-4--|
D|----|
sound better than the 466 that you have.
Anywho, well done, sweet song!
