"The Answer"
by Shane Bernard and Shane Everett

Ok so i finally figured out how to play The Answer by Shane Bernard and Shane
Everett. But some of the chords are really funky and wierd. Took a while to
figure out but i managed. Here's the chord list

E: 0-7-9-9-0-0
E?: 0-6-9-11-0-0 <-- That was extremely hard so heres the simplified version
E?: 0-6-9-9-0-0
C#m: 9-11-11-9-0-0
B: 7-9-9-8-0-0
B?: 6-9-11-8-0-0 <-- Again, very hard so simplified is just moving ur index
A: 5-7-7-6-0-0 finger up one fret
A?: 4-7-9-6-0-0 ( do i really have to say it again?)

Intro:

E, E?, C#m, B, A, A?, A, B

Verse:

C#m, B, B?, A (x2)

Pre-chorus:
(Same as verse)

Chorus:

E, E?, C#m, B, A, A?, B (x2 i think)

Bridge:

E, A
E, A, B

Then you play chorus without singing

so i hope u like my chord thingy

Gilmore of OK - 2005-08-26

The B? is a Bb/B7...played like a barred B but with bass on Bb. so it would be:

- - - -
- - - -
- - -3
- - -3
-1 - -
- - - -

The A? is an A/G# which is the about the same fingering as an A2.

- - - -
- - - -
-1 - -
- - 2 -
- - - -
- - - -

Pretty simple.

jkim519 - 2005-08-27

Yea i didn't really know what the chords were called so i just used a "?"
my bad

jkim519 - 2005-08-27

for E? u can also play Emaj7 (0-9-11-10-0-0) if that kinda helps

jkim519 - 2005-08-27

wait i meant 0-7-9-8-0-0

HanSarangx - 2005-09-14

great tab.. every sounds right.. except im having trouble playing the c#m... maybe its just me but thats harder to play then the e7 and the a7

HanSarangx - 2005-09-14

oh wait those aren't 7s those are ? marks

jkim519 - 2005-10-05

yea

for C#m the fingerings should be:
low e= index
then a= ring finger
then d= pinky
then g= middle finger

you have to have big hands to do that right.

doubtlessone - 2005-10-09

for C#m7 just play 046600, I tried it out, and they pretty much sound the same.. maybe a little different, but from a distance I'm sure nobody can tell the difference
I was hoping that it would include the lyrics, but oh well... the chords sound great, just that I have trouble playing the listed A? and B?, however... I never got what E? really was... I heard it was rumored to be E/G#, but oh well...

jkim519 - 2005-10-24

The "?" was when i didn't know the names of the chords :P sorry.
anyways the ? i believe are 7th chords so it'd be E?=E7
sorry for that.

hey ya'll another good way to learn this song is to buy 2 disc "An Evening With Shane and Shane" set... Shane Bernard gives a lesson on how to play 10 or 15 of their songs and its pretty awsome but great tab anyways. I am impressed with how close it sounds to the song but another suggestion would be to cut capo this song(it makes life much easier).
god bless

CWRenaudin - 2007-01-06

also if you wanna play the c#m just wrap your thump around the low e

stupidfacegrary - 2007-02-05

ok try this it may be an easy correct way to play the chorus and intro...

Into & Chorus:

E(x799xx)-E?(x6911xx-C#m(9x99xx)-B(7998xx)-A?(5776xx)A?(479xxx)this is a Hard one-then back up to -A?(5776xx)- B(7998xx)

then of course the verse:

(x466xx)-(x244xx)-(x144xx)-(002200)

that is a HAIR bit simpler mabey!
