Hey, great job tabbing the song! On a side note, I was wondering if you might know the bass line in the bridge. I'm in the middle of figuring it out but because of baseball season (I'm playing) I don't have time to really sit down and learn it off the top of my head. Thanks and God Bless

G32BTurbo - 2005-04-12

I figured out the bridge bass line, its in the bass tabs section.

g00ksta7 - 2005-04-13

It's not in the bass tab section, i've looked but can not find it. I would definitely love learning that part....thanks for your hard work on figuring it out, but where's it at???? I've tried figuring it out but it goes way to fast....comment ASAP

RyanGrady - 2005-04-16

what is the strumpattern on the begining... im not very good yet

G32BTurbo - 2005-04-17

its posted in the bass section now. :-D

aaron22 - 2005-04-24

THE STRUM PATTERN IS LIKE THIS

E---------7---6---
B---------------7-
G-----------------
D-----------------
A-----------------
E-----------------
BUT AS U KNOW U STRUM IT ITS 2 BEATS PER NOTE

takingbcksunday - 2005-05-15

For the intro it is two seperate guitar parts. Adjust your balance to the left and right speaker and you'll hear the parts by themselves.

Here's the tabs.
part 1 just the strum part 2 just the notes

sixstringes777 - 2005-06-29

solo that starts after he says salvation is here
stops singing. It is 2:24 into the song.
if you know please get it out ASAP. thanx

-great tab by the way

DreyzZzilla - 2005-06-30

sixstrings, that solo is a BASS solo btw.

sixstringes777 - 2005-07-01

thank, sorry

guitar_monkey - 2005-07-04

If you're a guitarist and want to play the bass solo then here it is...
this might be especially useful if your bass player in your band isn't allthat crash hot... this tab is 100%... it is just the above tabs rewritten an octave lower so that it is the same pitch as the bass!

scottt - 2005-07-15

Nice tab Paul86, Sounds correct to me except the last two 4's. It's hard to hear but I pretty sure the 4's should be 2's. For the bass it sounds like after a few rifts on the solo the bass player drops it an octave.
God Bless, scottt

scottt - 2005-07-16

Edit..
nevermind. the 4's are right, It's late, im tired.

vobafo_player - 2005-07-16

just to let you know greenleaf, the solo is the bass playing all the way through. when they filmed the dvd no let the filmers know who was playing the solo and so they assumed it was the guitar. you can see that it's not because all the guitars are either resting or very lightly playing backup strums. also in the songbook it says the solo is the bass all the way from the start, it's just very high bass

vobafo_player - 2005-07-16

during the song the I know at least one of the acoustic (might be both) guitars play the B and E during the verse and the G# and E during the bass solo.

yOyi - 2005-07-28

wats is the electric guitar playing during the bridge??any1 can help me?

Livin'OnAPrayer - 2005-08-22

they have a songbook? where did you get that?

Nath - 2005-09-09

Also, about the DVD, on All For Love, you can see that Joel and Marty aren't playing ( acoustic ), but there's 2 parts on the cd. So, they did some extra stuff after, obviously, so they may have done that here aswell. The DVD can help for timing of strumming and stuff, but beware! because they may have added some other guitar parts on after they recorded it.
But the solo in the middle is definetly bass.

decree1615 - 2005-09-12

y0yi the guitar plays a single note the entire bridge the fingering is xx578x, i think that's the right fret it might be up one. but that's the right fingering. it's basically a D shaped power chord. he strums that until the end where he strikes the G# that leads into the chorus.

guitar4godjosh - 2005-09-17

could someone post the intro in a slightly better way

god speed

ahiscoc - 2005-09-19

I think the constant strummed note throughout the verse is e --2---
B --0---
G --4---
maybe wrong maybe right....I think it depends alot on the tone your getting out of your amp and guitar. For one it might sound better where I play it...for another where they play it

jazzyladybass - 2005-09-30

g'day everyone. Paul86 - that bass tab is dead on. when the solo kicks in the bass plays that up at the a flat on the g-string four times. then he plays it on that lower octave once or twice. i can't remember. umm. i guess thats all i have to say. other than: there is salvation in the sweet sixteenths.oh. and the intro he just slides up to b on the a string and plays the 7 and the octave at the same time. ( 7 is the a. he hammers from the a to the b)

g0txchr1st - 2005-10-04

well the bass riff is actually on the highest octive which is on i think on the 18th fret on 2nd string from the bottom... yea try it out... cause that is how it is suppose to be.. if u play it youll see the difference have fun

guitar4godjosh - 2005-10-25

checkinthemic - 2005-12-29

what kind of equiptment do the electric guitarists use on this album?

J0sephYu - 2006-01-11

I've no clue what the effects are, but when I play this song, I like to use a light phase, overdrive, delay, and sustain

I think this is the Bass solo... again, you CAN play the solo on Electric, but not the first part - it sounds way too high:

Solo: 4x

G-----16-18-16----16----------18-16----------16-----16----------20-18--16-18------|
D-18-----------18-------18-16---------14-16------18----18----18-------------------|
A--------------------14-----------------------------------16----------------------|
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Octave lower: 2x
G---------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D------9-11-9-----9------------11-9----------9------9--------------13--11--9-11---|
A-11-----------11---------11-9---------7-11------11----11-----11------------------|
E-----------------------7-----------------------------------9---------------------|
To Chorus: ( B E F# G# )

checkinthemic - 2006-02-21

thanks joe,

I got a les paul with seymore duncan pickups and an ibanez tube screamer pedal...it seems to sounds ok so far i guess...I really want a vox amp though

MAD_MAXY_POO - 2006-02-23

mmm lespal's nice, i like my strat tho im more used to the neck and sound, im really into fender :D fenderfenderfender....other then fender deluxe tube amp is way to loud! i cant go above 2 :P

J0sephYu - 2006-03-02

The Marshalls with the FDD sounds just as good as the old tubes if not better.
Anyway, you can more clearly distinguish between the TWO SEPERATE ELECTRIC GUITARS if you adjust the sound to only come out of each speaker. From the left speaker you get real clear on the rhythm, right speaker you have the lead. If you're listening from headphones, try listening with only one ear at a time.

I'm not listening to the song right now, but this is what I remember
(I submitted a tab for this a while back never got put up and I didn't save it)

intro:

Guitar 1
e-7-----6--------
b------------7---
Guitar 2
e-7777777777777777
b-7777777777777777

Verse:
Guitar 2
e-77777777799999997777777776666666
b-77777777777777777777777777777777 x3

Can't think of the rest right now.

Anberlin_Rocks - 2006-03-25

nice job on the tab
but i really want 2 kno da amp settings!!!!!!
does any1 kno exactly wat they are?

manilacoke3 - 2006-04-24

for those music teams with only 1 guitarist, you can do this for the intro:
(timing not included)

E--77-66-*- --*6*-- ]loop
B--77-77-7- --7*7-- ]
G--44-44-4- --447-- ]
D
A
E

the E1 string does the lead while the 4's & 7's on B&G does the rhythm.
get it?

Godbless everyone!

SupahMan - 2006-05-12

Actually...

Nigel (the black guy with dreads in Hillsongs) plays the LEAD part of the INTRO like this:

e|-----------------------|
B|--x-x-12-12----11----7-|
G|--x-x-11-11-----x----x-|

While the other guitar is the doing the RHYTHM like this:

e|--77777777777777777777-|
B|--77777777777777777777-|
G|--44444444444444444444-|

With absolutely no breaks in rhythm, just like some other people have said.

The verse goes, in a kinda of muted strum:

m m m m m m m m
e|--x-x-x-x----2-----x-x-x-x----2-------
B|--x-x-x-x--0---0---x-x-x-x--0---0-----
G|--4-4-4-4----------4-4-4-4--------3-4-
D|--4-4-4-4----------4-4-4-4------------
A|--2-2-2-2----------2-2-2-2------------
E|--------------------------------------

This is repeated until the end of the verse, right before the VERSE BREAK.

Right before the VERSE BREAK, there is these two chords where he sings "everything's gonna be all right..."

e|--2-2-2---0-0-0--|
B|--0-0-0---0-0-0--|
G|--4-4-4---4-4-4--|
D|--4-4-4---2-2-2--|
A|--x-x-x---2-2-2--|
E|--4-4-4---0-0-0--|

The INTRO is also the same thing as the VERSE BREAK.

These are just a few parts from the "Hillsongs" side of the United version. To me, it sounds better played this way. All the parts except for the rhythm (xxx477) is played with a TRIPLET (if you know what that is) delay and little bit of overdrive too. Good luck.

Cody

sealion87 - 2006-06-02

Ya, the right delay effect can go really well w the electric guitar

sealion87 - 2006-06-02

... unless your using both guitars

dudabrad - 2006-06-13

This is great! We just started working on this song, and the solo tabs were a great help to me.
Someone was asking about guitar effects for the solo in the middle. I'm actually using a slicer (I play thru a Boss GT-8) set in tempo to 16th notes. Basically, a slicer "slices" the sound; creating gaps which can give a multiple repeat type sound.
So, I only pick each new note once and let the slicer handle all the 16th repeats. Not only easier, but the band thought it sounded more like the original than when I was hacking away at my 16th notes (this may say more about my 16th-note technique than the slicer effect, but it works great for me.)
btw: I read somewhere that a gate-flanger can acheive a similar sliced effect
Haven't tried that.

daveoo - 2006-08-21

wow guys...thanks a lot for these tabs! if its not such a big hassle, can anyone tab the whole song? im kinda new, but i really want to learn this song. :] thanks a lot! Praise God!
