Hey guys,

There's a song on this CD that I would love to play

It's called "Lay Down My Pride"

Shebz - 2005-06-30

does neone know what this chord is?
e|-0
B|-7
G|-6
D|-7
A|-x
E|-x

if u play it with the rhythm of "Take You Back" ....it's sounds exactly like it!

guitarplayr - 2005-07-01

Shebz, I believe that chord is an E7,buti'm not sure. Try going to chordfind.com

guitarplayr - 2005-07-01

Sorry Eb7

Shebz - 2005-07-14

thanx! uhh..i'm gonna go try it right now...

Shebz - 2005-07-14

yeah, actually i was off by one fret and a couple notes..the tab wud be like
x68686

CBUMike - 2005-08-10

e|-0
B|-7
G|-6
D|-7
A|-x
E|-x
This chord to be 100% correct is a Fm7/A.

x68686
This chord is infact a Eb7.

spmedic - 2005-08-15

Actually the cord
x
7
6
7
x
x

is the Dmaj7 listed in the initial posting... without root D that would be played like this

5
7
6
7
5
x

Hope that helps....

CBUMike - 2005-08-24

ACTUALLY the chord...

x
7
6
7
x
x

Would not be a F#/A chord not a DMaj7. See the notes you are playing when you play that chord are F#, A, and C# which is the basic form of a F# Major chord. However the bass note in that chord is an A so the chord becomes an F#/A which simply means an F# Major chord with an A bass note.

If you play this chord...

5
7
6
7
5
x

It is DMaj7. The notes you are playing are an D, F#, A, and C# which make up a basic root position DMaj7 chord.

Now you are talking about related chords. You can play them over each other and it will sound good because they are made up of the same notes give or take one. But in and of itself to say one is the other is incorrect. They are related but not the same and each have seperate correct names.

Keep Rockin!

Mar-T - 2005-09-21

I play the song on Capo 2. The intro is like G C G C, just play around with the finger pickings. It sounds good enough to me. If you want I can submit that tab.

leopardgirl92@h - 2005-10-04

Hey everyone, this may be kinda odd, but I've never heard this song on the album it's actually on. I have the live acoustic version of it and the acoustic version is drop tuning. Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. Use the exact same cord progession, but everything is just a half-step down. Sounds great this way too, and for some who cant quite sing the higher notes (like me) this way will help a lot.

God Bless!

Your brother in HIM!

bwelch - 2005-11-27

Here's how he plays it live for the intro and verses.

Capo 2

E--3----2-------------------------7------------10-----------|
B--3-----------8-----7-8-------------------8------8---------|
Gó---0 ---0------0------------9-----9--------0------0-------|
D----------0--------------------9-----9---------------------|
A---------------------------7-------------------------------|
E--3--3------3/8---8-8-8-----------------8------------------|

mireimage48 - 2005-12-24

Verse: G D Em C
G D Em C
G D Em C
G D Em C

Bridge: Am Bm C
Am Bm C

Chorus: G D Am C
G D Am C

i think thats right but there is one part i cant get. its the " i can only speak with a greatful heart...i can never thank you enough" part. so if anyone can get that that would be great.
In his steps,
Rob

mireimage48 - 2005-12-24

aShMb89 - 2006-01-13

will someone please send me the lyrics with the cords to aShMb89@yahoo.com it would be very much app. i cant find them ne where

thanks,
Ashley

nicholec5 - 2006-01-24

mireimage48, you have the chords correct, but the placement of the capo is wrong. Place the capo on the first fret, and play along with the unplugged, Franklin, TN version. It sounds great then. God Bless! Keep Rockin, Nichole

Can someone HELP ME?!?! I'm teaching myself how to play the guitar and I can't figure out the strumming pattern for this song.... can someone explain it fo me?

Thanks

christianazn - 2006-09-21

i've played this song on capo2........ ezier try it

GuitarKingTaz - 2006-10-05

I haven't seen the into done right. With all of the comments I like this version capo 2 and the actual chords that are in the top of this post. This isn't using the capo, however the notes are right and can be modified for the capo

e----2----2-------------------2----2---------------------
b------2----2-----------2-------2----2-----------2-------
g--------------2-----4------------------2----4-----------
d---------------------------------------------------4----
a--------------------------------------------------------
e--------------------------------------------------------

God Bless,
Taz

I'd like to point out is you go Capo 2, relative to it:
the A is {320033 or 320003},
the Dmaj7 is {X54000},
and the F#m is {022000}.
