From the recording that was sent to me, this is dead on. I've seen where some think it might be tuned differently, but this version works. I've played the whole thing with the recording I was sent.

The difference some MIGHT be hearing is possibly the guitar might be in an open "D" tuning or maybe Dropped D.

Those chords are right on, but try this! Tune only the 1st and 2nd strings down to D and A, respectively. Then play all chords similar to bar chords, except leave the 1st and 2nd strings open. Those are the two notes you hear in "guitar only" portions of the song.

Also play finger style, of course, rather than strumming.

If you are in standard tuning this starts on an E flat not a D. I just checked the recording with a guitar in standard tuning. Your choices are play barre chords in standard tuning, tune all strings up a half step, or use a capo at the first fret to play open chords. All of the intervals here look pretty good. God bless.

according to my guitar which is in standard tuning (checked with tuner)it does start with a D chord not e flat

here is the deal. you guys are talking about 2 different versions of the song. there are 2 versions on the "try" cd.
track 2 on the cd is the one in d-major, and track 12 is the one that sounds like e-flat.

Where can I get the lyrics to this song? so far all I've found are the chords, it would help me to figure out how to play it with the words.
