A C9 is x32333.
your C9 is acually a Cadd9 (x32033).

he knows that his c9 is x32033 because he tabbed it above the song ...

I have played the guitar for ten years and played some kind of musical instrument sense I was seven. I know my music theory. I know all the fancy music terms. I know how to form a chord. As long as the finger position is noted does it matter what name it is given. One finger position can have numerous "Names" attached to it. C2 C9 Cadd2 Cadd9 after you play for a while you figure out its fingered the same.

I agree! It's so dumb people argue over what the chord is called. As long as you know that it is a C then you don't need to know anything else.

Are you calling me dumb ?!?

Yes, it x32033 is Cadd9, C+9, (xCEGDG) but it is often just called C9
eventhough C9 IS technically x32333, 0r xCEBbDG

"Dear freinds, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; ut if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made comeplete in us."
- I John 4:11-12
Hum...interesting...doesn't the bible say "Love your neighbor as yourself" in Matthew 22:39. And in John 15:12 say "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
"...and they will know you love God by the way you love one another..."
Way to set an example for everyone guys!
