*ahem* it is 2 flats below standard drop-d. That so rules that you won the CD from TVU. Did they e-mail you or call you? I have beenentering a million times.
Drop C is my favorite tuning. That's what my band plays in. It gives the sound a much harder sound. Good job on the tab also. This song rocks. GOD BLESS!!!
I agree with njsk8rboy - i think all songs on Potter's Field are in Drop C. And about this tab - there are no slides in intro, it's hammer-ons and pull-offs. And don't play lower C string in first part of intro.
Here's the deal for who ever didn't understand drop C. It's the same idea as Drop D. The difference is, you tune all 6 strings down a whole step. then it's just like being in standard tuning only everything is a whole steplower. then you drop the sixth string (usually E but now D) another whole step down to C. Then play riffs and stuff just like you would in drop D. I hope that helps a little
To tune to drop C you first have to tune the 5th string down to the 3rd string. After that you tune the low E string by playing the seventh fret and tuning down to the 5th string you just tuned. After that you can easily finish off the tuning by tuning all the strings with the strings you already tuned. Hope that helped, it took me a while to figure out drop C tuning. I don't kow if this will make sense to any of you but this is how you tune it to drop C without a tuner.
im not sure if the verse is entirely correct. somehow the 9-8 part doesnt sound right. otherwise its a great tab. keep it up. anyone know any other challenging drop c songs? i need to practice on it since i just started using the tuning.
