Artist - Building 429
Song - Glory Defined
Album - Glory Defined EP
Tabbed by - MJ_Avalanche (Mike)
Tuning - DbAbDbGbAbDb (I used DbAbDbGbBbEb instead.)
Time Sig - 4/4
Tempo - Around 85
I saw them live a couple weeks ago and I personally wouldn't recommend that
tuning for this song, because the chord forms that they use don't work in
that tuning. I would use dropped-D and tune down a half step from there.
Intro Riff:
eb[-------------------------------]
Bb[-------------------------------]
Gb[-------------------------------]
Db[---7--7--4-2-5--4--------------]
Ab[---5--4--2-0-5--4---------4-5--]
Db[---0---------5--4--0-0-4-5-----]
Play that intro 2x and on the second time, let the "5" (Gb) ring.
The verse sounds like arpeggiated "powerchords" of the following chords.
(Vertical lines indicate measures. First 3 measures )
Ab/C Db |(2/4) Ab/C Eb Db |(4/4)Db | Gb | Gb | Ab/C Db | Ab/C Eb Db | Bb
In that last measure (Bb) before the chorus, there's a "chunk-chunk" on the
guitars on beat 4. One guitar does a muted strum on 4+. The other hits the
open Db powerchord on the same beats.
Chorus:
eb[------------------------------------------]
Bb[------------------------------------------]
Gb[------------------------------------------]
Db[---7--7--4--5------------4--5--4-2-4--5-2-]
Ab[---5--4--2--5------------4--5--2-0-4--5-2-]
Db[---0--------5------------4--5------4--5-2-]
Guitar 2's riffs on the chorus (placed according to where they go in relation
to the chords):
Bb[--------------10-8-7h8p7-------7-9--------]
Gb[--------\7-------------------------9------]
[NOTE: Don't play the first two riffs during the first chorus. From the
second time on, play the second one, and on the final choruses after the
bridge play it then.]
Back to the intro (2x), then the verse, played identically to the first verse.
The chorus then repeats itself and moves on to the bridge.
Bridge:
eb[---------------------]
Bb[---------------------]
Gb[---4--2--7-----------]
Db[---4--2--7--5--7--5--]
Ab[---2--4--5--5--7--5--]
Db[---------0--5--7--5--]
Afterwards, repeat the chorus 2 times, and then repeat the intro at the end
and hang on to the Gb and let it ring to end the song.
So, the song moves like:
Intro 2x
Verse 1 1x
Chorus 1x
Intro 2x
Verse 2 1x
Chorus 1x
Bridge 1x
Chorus 2x
Intro 2x
Easy song, but a good song. If you want the lyrics goto:

Rock on for Jesus!
Mike
The tuning they have on the site is the tuning that they use (I know, cause I hung out with Paul for a little bit after the show and I was right up next to him during the show, so I watched him retune his SG). However, if you use that tuning you have to mess with their fingerings that are on the site a little bit. Hence, why I used DADGBE and flatted all those notes, because it's written in DADGAD-flat but it's basically easier to play in dropped-Db tuning.
So, you are correct when you say dropped-D, but it's actually Dropped-Db if you play it in that instead of DADGAD-b
Does anyone have the verse parts actually tabbed out? The Ab/C Db just doesn't seem right to me. For one thing the Ab is a "major" Ab which would make the bass note (most likely) C#.
"For one thing the Ab is a "major" Ab which would make the bass note (most likely) C#."
Well, an Ab major triad is Ab C Eb, so the bass note can not be a C#. As for the verse riff, looks like the one you found in the Tab Requests forum pretty much covered it, so I'll leave it alone. I was pretty sure I was wrong about the verse chords, but I was just going by the harmonic (chord) changes that I was hearing and the more I listened to it, the more I heard a riff at the beginning instead of chords, but I haven't tried to figure it out yet. Anyways, glad you found what you were looking for.

ahh som1 pls post the tabs of the chords of the verse in this tunning because it is confusing me big time. SO pls help me i really wanna learn this song. Thank you so much.
Ok, I read through your corrections and I actually found an easier site, at least I think so. Just go to this link: http://www.e-chords.com/cifra/idmusica/51891/keyb/true.htm
The CD is enhanced, and you can print the sheet music off of it...Guitar, Piano, and lyrics. Makes for easy playing, especially if you are trying to co-ordinate with the keyboardist.

So this is how we play it and well it rocks like no other to play so I can't say it is wrong since you know...we played it in front of like 150 people, but we play stuff like that and regular worship songs, so we aren't some band trying to show off, just playing to worship God!!
Jesus_Freak, get a guitar tuner, then for the low e put youre finger on 11th fret, then tune it, same for the a,d,g,b,and e stringsit should be tuned to drop Eb,Ab,D,Gb,Bb,and Eb if u have trouble do the song in drop d
this is how i play it
drop-d
