This is Your Life
Switchfoot- The Beautiful Letdown

I came up with this one on my own, and when I looked at the other versions
on this site today, they didn't have as many chords as mine, so I decided
to add it. I think it's pretty acurate. If you own the CD, then the way I
typed the chords should match up with the way the words are printed up in
the CD paper, and you can listen to it for timing... (Did that make any sense?!)
-Lindsay

intro:

E----------------------------------
B----------------------------------
G----------------------------------
D----------------------------6-----
A---4--4--7-4--4--4-7--4--4----4--2
E----------------------------------

this keeps playing throughout the verse, but I also found the chords that
can be played

verse 1:

C#m B C#m B
C#m B C#m B
B A B A
C#m
B C#m B
C#m B C#m B
B A B C#m

chrous:

E B A
E B A
E B A
E B C#m

verse 2:

C#m B C#m B
C#m B C#m B

bridge thing:

B C#m

E B A
E B A B

sounds good, but i think it sounds better for the chorus using E Bsus2 Asus2

dihotshot83 - 2004-09-14

I'm just a beginner, but i took what you had for the intro (otherwise i wouldn't be anywhere) and changed it a little and i think it sounds a little bit closer to the song.
E----------------------------------
B----------------------------------
G----------------------------------
D-------------------------------6--
A---4--4--7-4--4--4-7--7--4--4----2
E----------------------------------

lespaul2003 - 2004-10-19

hey diehotshot lol what you wrote is excatly what he wrote no difference

misschicky2291 - 2004-11-20

Hey, as far as the intro's concerned, it think you're both a little off. :-/ It sounds to me more like this.

-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-4--------4--7---4------4---7--
-----4---------------4---------

-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
----------------6--------------
---4---0---4--------2----------
-------------------------------

I hope this was a help, and was semi accurate. God Bless!

the chorus for eletric guitar.
eo------0-------0
bo------0-------0
g9------8-------6
d9------9-------7
a7------9-------7
e0------7-------5x2
then
e0------0-------0
b0------0-------0
g9------8-------6
d9------9-------6
a7------9-------4
e0------7-------0

BlackAttack1287 - 2005-03-17

I think that the intro is more like this.

--------------------------------
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
-------------------------6------
-4-0-4-7-4-0-4-7---4-0-4---2----
--------------------------------

Let me know what you think

Intro bass tab (or guitar)

e---------------------------------------
b---------------------------------------
G--------9----------9------------13-----
D-11--11---11---11-----11-----11-----9--
A--------------------------12-----------
E---9---------9-------------------------

And there also is some very nice slide parts around the C#, octaves work.
And then just before the singing there is a B to C# hammer on on the e string.
Also beginning of second verse under 'yesterday is a kid in the corner' there is a decending fill on the E major pentatonic.

e-12-9-------------
b------12-9--------
G-----------11--9--

Also the riff before quiet chorus, this can also be doubled up be bass, sounds good.

e-----------------------------------
b-----------------------------------
G-----------------------------------
D---------6----------6-/7--6--------
A---2-/4------2-/4-------------7----
E-----------------------------------

turkweed - 2005-05-11

black attack that's better but it's easier to play the last note on the e string seventh fret instead of the a second fret

BlackAttack1287 - 2005-06-02

Yeah, you are right there, turkweed.

sportsman123 - 2006-07-26

your all of heres an easy way
heres the real intro
4 -----------------------------------------------
5 -----------------------------------------6-----
6 --4--4---7--4---4---4---7-----4---0---0-------2
hope it's right

Highest House - 2006-09-28

Just to add to the pool of opinion on the solo, I do not htink that the second note played is that high. I think it is a low C#. Therefore I think that it goes:

G :---------------------------------
D :--------2---------2---------6----
A :--4---4---4-----4-----4-0-4---2--
C#:----0---------0------------------

God Bless,
Chris
