Jars of Clay

Tabbed by Johnny Betancourt

Hey guys, Iíve seen so many bad versions of Flood out there that I finally
had to get down and chart it out myself. (Sorry about my negative attitude
all the time, Iím really not a very grumpy person!) But anyway, here you go.
As Iíve said before, Jars of Clay basically keeps their 3rd and 4th fingers
on the 3rd fret of the B and E strings for the whole first CD! (Okay, there
are a few exceptions) But when you know that it helps you figure out the
fingering for the chords. By the way, do me a favor and vote for this chart
so that I can get an overall look at what you guys think. I donít want to
be ďthrowing my pearls before the swineĒ! Lol, sorry! Iím not calling you
guys pigs, itís just a Biblical expression. E-mail me at
for questions or comments.

Chords needed:

(During verses) C5 x35xxx
                G#maj7 435xxx
                G7 3x3xxx

(During pre-chorus)
                C2 x30033
                Bb6 x10033
                G7 3x3033

(During chorus) C2 x30033
G#maj7 4x5043 ĖI know this looks impossible!
                Bb6 x13033 The fingering is:
                F2,6 1x0033 1st finger on high E string
2nd finger on low E string
                                       3rd finger on B string
                                       4th finger on D string
(Work on it, itís worth it!)

C2 G#maj7 G7
C2 G#maj7 G7
C2 G#maj7 G7
C2 G#maj7 G7

But if I couldÖ (pre-chorus)

C2 Bb6 G7
C2 Bb6 G7
C2 Bb6 G7
C2 Bb6 G7

Lift me upÖ (Chorus)

C2 G#maj7 Bb6 F2,6
C2 G#maj7 Bb6 F2,6
C2 G#maj7 Bb6 F2,6
C2 G#maj7 Bb6 F2,6 (Hold out C2 16x afterwards)

Back to verseÖ

For the slow part, strum slowly through the chorus chords

K? Good enough for you guys? Great! Donít worry, Iím gonna have all their
songs charted\tabbed out pretty soon. Remember, donít settle for second best!
