This is a tab of the new version Jars has been playing on the past few tours
they've done.  It is different from the original version because it includes
a new fingerpicking intro/first verse/first chorus and they play a longer outro
on the song.

Disclaimer-just so I don't get mean emails nagging me because there may be one
or two little things missing ;) - This tab may not be absolutely perfect but
it is pretty darn close.  The chord names may not all be correct but the
fingerings are.  Steve uses a ton of little hammer-ons and pull-offs in this
song.  I have tried to indicate most of these with notes on the side but
you will have to listen to the song to understand what I mean with most of my
notes.  Use either the "11 Live" DVD or the "Furthermore" recording of this
song to get the rhythms (if you need help).  I realize that there are two
guitar parts in the "outro" but I have made them into one for ease of
playing.  Well, I guess that's all I have to say... onto the song.

I have the official book from "Furthermore" and they have this is regular tuning. I am sure this tuning works, i have tried it, but I also have the vid, and stephen is using some very challenging chords as he is fingerpicking, how do we know what chord to finger pick? Just wondering. I will try to get up maybe a brief version of the official chords here soon.

very very excellent tab. as far as I'm concerned it's pretty much exactly like the 11th hour dvd. i even played along with it.

Actually, despite being the official tab book most, if not all, official tab books that come out are not actually the way the artists play the songs. All books are in standard tuning. For example: the Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dream" book has both guitar parts in standard tuning where only the lead guitar part is in standard. James built the whole song around the rhythm alt. tuning.

Jars of Clay is renound for playing in the tuning listed here. Flood is played in the same tuning. Most times, if you're looking for the official way to play a particular song you need to look on the web for fanatical fan's tabbing, not the so-called official tabs.

This is an awesome tab, but I noticed that on the DVD "11 Live" he goes down in the fret 9 to 12 area when he starts strumming the chorus. Could you check that out and see what he's doing. It's driving me crazy and I can't figure out.

the chords you are thinking of are as follows:

0 0 10 0 0 0 (2 bars, On this chord Steve does a pull-on and hammer-off between frets 9 and 10)

Steve plays this twice then playes the first chord for one bar, then plays 020202 for another followed by 002000 hammering to 004000 hammering to 005000 and then playing 005504 before pulling off to 005500. Sounds a little complicated but if you try each of these things followed by listening to the recording to get the timing down I think it will make sense.

Lemme know if you need clarification.

Good tab, not many people realize they play in EABEBE tuning. I love this tuning except for the fact that my "G" string is getting an annoying habit of snapping when I try to tune back up. So tune slowly. But back to the tab. Great Job. I've been looking for the furthermore version...good job
